That said the Carlton its cheap, clean & functional & the staff are reasonably eager to please (still not quite sure how I swung a 4pm check out time). My fellow guests appeared to be junior athletics teams from elsewhere in Latin America & the suits in glasses who showed up at the door in limos to attend the exotically named meeting for ‘The Cartagena protocol’
Would I recommend? Cheap & easy but I doubt if distinctive. Would I recommend Brasilia for a trip? Oh yes (strictly 1 day though)- much more so than all the people who have never been there & hammer its reputation. Make sure you get a city tour conducted by Billy (reception will set you up).
breakfast was okay, but nothing special. The gym is really small and the water of the swimming pool didn't looked healthy.
To be honest: I won't stay here again, when I'm in Brasilia.
Good value. Could renovate to become vintage style.
Great swimming pool.
The carlton never heard of that. The 70s went by.. followed by 80s 90s and 14 years of the 21st century....
The carlton never heard of that.
Nice if you like vintage everything... staff is nice. Auditorium is good.
It is quite clean, the breakfast and staff friendly. But the lookalike is not more than a 2 star hotel. The windows are not isolated, there was no quiet sleeping without earplugs.
There is much to do till the World Championship in 2014
Wifi only in the lobby, not the rooms (cable available, though).
Room decoration from the early seventies.
Did not have warm water for 2 days in my room, thanx gosh it´s Brazil and it was rather hot.
Buffet dinner extremely expensive at 45 R$ (26USD) and not something to write home about.
In a nutshell, you must be able to find better hotels.
