This venue is not what I would call a resort but rather a place where there are multiple Villa’s, serviced by a reception area. The staff are very friendly and the food was quite good. The rooms were decent. If you’re looking for a place to sleep so you can tour the surrounding areas, then this is perfect for that. If your looking for a resort type setup with lush beautiful gardens and large pools, then you may want to try another place.

This place definitely is not as good as it looks on internet. We were handed a voucher upon check in to "compensate" the fact that their main pool was under renovation. Well we thought, they've anticipated this in advance which is a good gesture. It was a heavy rain during that afternoon, we (5 of us with 1 infant) decide to go out again for our dinner. We come back almost 21:30 in the evening. The stair to our rooms/villas was very steep, not good for elderly or someone with knee problem. The room is sorrounded by tropical garden/jungle on the river cliff. Feels very humid and our wooden bridge to the room feels rotten. We jump to our bath tub to find out there was a BIG Lizard Drop right next to our head (on bath tube ledge). Then we start praying that the Lizard (TOKEK) is not living in our room. Generally the bathroom is quite old. Grouting wasn't clean and the wooden floor was not entirely flat. However the HOT water was very consistent in both shower and bath tub - not bad. We were so tired and try to go to sleep as soon as our late bathing. THen the Lizard start creating its loud noise on the ceiling exactly above our head. WE do not have much choice left, where can we move at 22:30 with our 4 months infant was a member of our group. We try to push the lizard out by scarring them with our own voice. IT DIDN"T WORK. We ended up with having the worst sleep of our hotel experience since this Lizard make a hourly ALARM to interup our sleep. We convey the situation to the staff incharge in FO following day. We do not expect anything, and surprisingly we did not hear a single word of apology from this gentlement. WHen we want to use our voucher to have in room spa treatment, they also rejected and informing treatment must be done in their spa. WE ended up using the voucher to order our last food before checking out. SOrry, the food was not what we expect. It was poorly presented and tasted. In short, with the amount we paid for staying this hotel we defenitely expect to have better product and quality. It is just not there. This is the experience we want to forget as soon as possible.

WOW, what a stay! Had such an incredible experience at Anahata and easily our favorite part of our Bali trip! The accommodations, location, food and service was exceptional. First off the location is superb! The villa was right in the middle of a gorgeous jungle, and you can hear the elements come alive at night. Such an immersive experience and a true getaway from the busyness of life! The accommodations were beautiful - very large spacious rooms tastefully decorated. Everything felt impeccably clean and luxurious. The hotel has so many thoughtful touches, including a complimentary 15 minute welcome massage, free shuttle services right to the center of town, and yoga sessions (plus a mini yoga guide right in your hotel room). The spa services offered were also extensive and high quality! We chose to extend our massages as they were so good! Perhaps the best thing about the resort though was the incredible staff! The level of service we received exceeded all expectations. The staff was so friendly and helpful at every turn! They personally arranged tours for us to explore all the exciting areas around Ubud as well as transport from the airport and on to our next destination! The restaurant at the villa was the cherry on top - offering amazing food against a scenic backdrop! Wonderful mix of Indonesian and other cuisines and a wide selection at breakfast. With everything you need at your doorstep, it would be very easy to spend all your time at the resort. Highly recommend booking your stay here - one of the best experiences we’ve ever had!

We spent 3 days at anahata resort. The rooms are very spacious. It’s about a 10-15 minute free shuttle ride from the Hustle and bustle of the center of Ubud, which is extremely nice because of how busy the town can be. This is a true oasis in the middle of the jungle. The view from our room was awesome, it seemed to be built into the side of the mountain so we had a beautiful sightline of the jungle... simply beautiful. There are free yoga classes , which are definitely worth taking advantage of. The staff is extremely knowledgable and helped us with recommendations for activities to do as well as arranging our excursions. In addition to all of this, we were pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was on the resort itself. Usually resort prices are inflated, but in this case everything was priced competitively to all the restaurants in central Ubud. This was a truly luxurious experience and a reminder how far your dollar can go in some places of the world.

Our stay here was magic. I have never stayed anywhere as beautiful in my entire life! We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 3 storey villa with a private pool overlooking the jungle. It was incredible, so serene! The villa was fantastic and the pool was amazing. The big pool was also beautiful. We walked down the many steps to the river down the bottom which was lovely and peaceful, definitely worth the steps!! There are so many hidden gems at the resort and it is definitely worth exploring the resort! So many amazing spots to read and relax. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the free yoga was really amazing in a gorgeous setting. The staff were beyond friendly and there was service with a smile :) they were all so thoughtful and nice! I definitely recommend staying here. However, not for people with young children or elderly people as there are many steps and the villas have very steep steps inside. Amazing stay!

My wife and I stayed at Anahata for 6 nights, we were in a private pool villa, we are completely happy with everything about Anahata (room, food, etc). What impressed us most is the friendly staff, this is the reason that I would recommend to anyone, as well as revisit myself. As at December 2019 everything was perfect.

I stayed in there for 2 nights/3days and those were the best days in my whole journey in Bali! The place is gorgeous and calm, so relaxing, the rooms are amazing and HUGE, the food delicious, the staff very very friendly and thoughtful and the pool has a great view. The welcome massage were the best 15 min, but I wish it last longer haha but it was fine. Other than that I have no buts for the place! I highly recommend it, it's totally worth it.

Poorly maintained villa, mouldy, paint peeling from walls, aircon not very good, quite uncomfortable beds, rude staff, incompetent chefs. Overall overpriced, and the standard they believe they set, is far from the experience. Will never visit again.

I got deceived by the pics on the internet and booked a 1 bedroom private pool villa. Since it was a low season, my room was upgraded to 3 bedroom villa. I was excited. But the pictures are too deceiving. This is an old resort, not clean. The forest has a strong smell, i hoped for a peaceful breathing atmosphere but its not available here. The private pool means u have ypur own pool, but there is no privacy. There is a easy access for anyone else and also visible to people eating at the restaurant. Totally unexpected. Also the trees are so so close to the pool area AND its always full of dirt. The pool area has all sorts of insects and mosquitoes. Its not really possible to have a peaceful sitting there. So we decided to cancel our dinner which we planned to have by the pool. The restaurant is too costly and very limited options for vegans and vegetarians. The taste is horrible. Except for 2 deserts everything else was bad. The beeakfast is same for all days we stayed. Very limited options. Same is repeated everyday including juices. And its cold food. We asked for a fruit platter and asked to add banana to it. They said they are out of banana. But immediately we ordered a banana desert and they delivered it. They lie. The staff lie a lot. The spa is useless. We tried to make a reservation every single day for the next day and they have only one response - we are fully booked. We couldnot even get the free massage promised to us. The staff at spa lie too. One staff member said that their therapist was sick and out, immediately another staff member said that the therapist is working with another customer. Whatever they promise to you at checkin is a sham. The river seen in pics is almost 1 hour trek away Its not next to the resort. We also meed to book an appointment for this trek as well. Again they will never take you. Finally be careful if you want to stay at this resort. Its in a godforsaken place with no access to any shops. If you want to step out for food, its not possible as nothing is available for 5 km distance from this resort. Even the delivery app guys from GOJEK wanted a huge tip if we want them to deliver. So you are stuck with the useless restaurant at this resort. Totally a pathetic experience at this resort.

Response from anahatabali, Public Relations Manager at Anahata Villas & Spa Resort
Responded Nov 15, 2019
Dear Amuru D, We are apologies for the disappointment that you experienced. I have already confirm some of the issues with our staffs. With regards of the breakfast issue, we didn’t serve vegan breakfast on the buffet. But guests are welcome to request on the ala carte menu. We have few of menu available on vegan option. Nonetheless, as you mentioned about our spa, i think there were misunderstanding here. Our staff weren’t lying to our guest. Reservation are made day before the schedule time or upon your check in and guest advised not to change the schedule last minutes. This to prevent schedule confilcts. We do hope we have already clarify some of misunderstanding here. We are sincerely apologizing if you are not satisfied with our resort. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further enquiries. Thank you. Regards, Anahata Team.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights this September. We were happy about the room and In-Villa comfort and that is the only highlight of our stay. There were cracks on the floor outside the Villa and the pool area was full of ants when we arrived. I think more pest control is required and Villa should be thoroughly inspected and fumigated prior to arrival. Room service was average in terms of service and food. On our first night, we called, but no one attended for clearance and the dishes were left in the room until we left the room for our tour next day. Several miscommunications happened between the staffs and we have to reconsider our schedule thrice before getting the final confirmation of the spa for just one booking. The spa was located very far from the lobby and the room, also does not have a good Aroma and the quality of the ginger tea served after treatment was average. The therapist was great, however the comfort was not felt completely as the ambiance was not good. Also, some people appeared to the treatment room in the middle of the spa treatment which made me feel very uncomfortable. They stayed for quite a while chatting with the therapist, hence felt no privacy at all. No value for money after all these inconveniences. Also, the pool attendants appeared out of nowhere, all of a sudden in the morning with out any notice, from the pool side of the Villa while we came out of shower. This made us feel really upset and worried, as it was such a disrespect to our privacy. Hope the management takes these issues to serious consideration as we do not want others to experience the same.
