This is Beijing Courtyard Hotel has been built up base on 400 Years historic construction Si He Yuan, The said place was the former residence of famous Chinese artist Mr. Mei Lan Fang. 10 minutes walking distance from WangFuJing, the travel and commercial center of Beijing. The spacious guest rooms are sharing the beautiful inner and outer courtyard and patio with each other, and decorated by the antique furniture those are carved with dragon and phoenix, the symbol of Chinese ancient nobility.
Being new to Beijing, the hutong surprised me as I wasn’t expecting walking through a neighborhood that resembled an alleyway, but I quickly learned it was a bustling neighborhood community. This hideaway little hotel was very lovely, had a beautiful courtyard, and a very comfortable room. I visited solo and the staff were very helpful to me, even if we needed to use a translation software to communicate (my Chinese is TERRIBLE and they were very kind). I really enjoyed the breakfasts of traditional chinese food, with a few euro/american things thrown in there. But I preferred to have the Chinese food because I can get toast anywhere. It was also lovely meeting some of the fellow guests, and hilariously discovered that one of the guests (German) and I (American) had a colleague in common (American). I love places like this because it gives the opportunity to be more in local culture, and also meet people from around the globe. If you’re looking for a regular “hotel”, go to one of the extra expensive places where none of the other guests converse and the only people to talk to are the attendants. Five stars to this lovely hotel. I am happily recommending this place to a friend.…

We enjoyed our stay. It was basic but comfortable. The staff were pleasant but we barely spent any time hanging out at the hostel/hotel. It’s location near Xisi train station was awesome and we found some great cheap local places to eat. The subway is brilliant and easy to navigate and the fact we could go everywhere for 4-5 yuan was amazing. Would recommend it to the adventurous not people looking for massive comfort. In saying that we slept well and found the bedrooms were purpose fit.

I see a lot of reviews that seem to think this place should be like a Hilton, but... I think they're missing the point. This is a traditional siheyuan that has been (barely) converted. There are basically no amenities outside of a simple breakfast. It's at the end of a very long alleyway that your cab driver will probably refuse to drive down, and your room is probably best described as "authentic". But wow, what an incredible experience it was. As you walk down the hutong, the sounds of the city all but disappear, and walking through the door of the siheyuan is like entering a perfect, beautiful cloister. The rooms are appointed in antique furniture and embroidered silk, the courtyard is decorated with red lanterns. If you're a business traveler or someone who wants a lot of comfort, skip it. But if you're looking for a legitimately authentic slice of what Beijing life used to be like, this is absolutely worth it.…

Very bad & dirty hotel! Totally different with website pictures, no lobby no business center, no restaurant , no playground and no long corridor ! And my two children got multiple insects' bites from that room and are very uncomfortable! And front desk lady really unfriendly! It is the worst travel experiences!

I just learned that they're remodeling a part of this place. I arrived this afternoon and loud drilling is going on just on the other side of the wall. I've been confused because the courtyard and the dining area doesn't resemble the photos. I asked the lady ("Jane") and with some difficulty trying to understand her, I learned of the remodeling going on. The entry, reception and courtyard are funky. Only the room is classy. Once the remodeling is done then the plan is to close this section and start a new construction phase here. Be advised. It's not like it appears in the photos. I feel like I'm paying too much, with a very simple breakfast that I take to my room. Forget about napping with the noise.

This is not really a hotel. It is more like a few rooms with almost self-service facilities. There was no one at the desk when we arrived so just picked up a key (which was identified with our name) and let ourselves in. There was rarely anyone at the front desk and there was a language barrier when someone was there. Breakfast was really just toast and jam (which you make yourself) and yogurt. The rooms were very interesting and clean but hot water very limited and the phone in our room didn't work at all making it difficult to verify tours etc. Taxis cannot get down the alley so you have to walk to the main street to get tour buses, taxis etc. Interesting and enjoyable stay but would probably choose another place with more amenities for the same price next time.

I was contacted via email the day of my flight to Beijing (from the US) that the hotel room I had reseved (for March 3) had been closed since January 2019 and that I would need to cancel my reservations (I had made two consecutive reservation for the Premier Suite due to an extra person being added to the party for part of the trip). I had to scramble to find another hotel in Beijing 30 minutes before I was supposed to be at the airport. I also did not get a full refund because I had cancelled outside the cancellation window (despite having been instructed by the hotel to cancel my reservation via hotels.com. Not a good way to run a business.

The place is clean with traditional Chinese courtyard decor; the room was comfortable and nice. For breakfast, they serve many kinds of fresh Chinese food and boiled eggs, bread & cereals. It is located in a "hutong" or Chinese street/alley, so it's very interesting. The area is great for shopping like a local; and get to learn everyday Chinese culture in real life!

I stayed in a single room, pretty small, but perfect for one person. The room was nice and comfortable, very Chinese style decoration. The courtyard is pretty and it does give you the feeling of being in an old Beijing siheyuan. The hutong to the hotel is quiet and nice to walk. Breakfast is also good :) The only down part is that the last day I was really sick, I asked for a late check out as I couldn’t move out from the toilet and they insisted for me to leave or pay the whole night for a couple of hours. That was not too nice. Besides, I would recommend it, just don’t get sick on the last day ;)
