Little Governors’ is intimate in character, with just 17 luxury en-suite tents tucked around a large watering hole teeming with both birds and wildlife. Located on the edge of the Masai Mara National Reserve, the camp is accessed by a very short boat ride across the Mara River, then an escorted walk through the riverine forest. Vehicles are left on the far river bank and the camp is therefore quiet and undisturbed. The guest tents at Little Governors’ have wooden decks with large verandahs for guests to enjoy the constant game activity that takes place around the marsh in front of camp. Little Governors’ runs on 100% solar power and has been awarded a GOLD Eco-Rating from Eco-Tourism Kenya due to our sustainable tourism practices in place in camp.

This was our first time on safari and after the wonderful experience we had, I hope that it won't be the last. We were made to feel so welcome by everyone at the camp. The standard of accommodation and food was far greater than our expectations. Truly 5 star service in the wild. Our game drives were expertly guided by Collin, his knowledge and patience reflect his silver medal status, however we think he deserves gold. Peter and Stanley also deserve our thanks, it was our pleasure to meet you. I can't recommend the Little Governors Camp highly enough. You need to try it for you self, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

This place is all about location, as it is right in the predator hotspot of the Maasai Mara, and is built on the side of a swampy area which attracts birds and other animals so game viewing can continue from your tent. The guiding was excellent (thank you so much Duncan) with fantastic close up views, particularly of the Mara's famous predators. The accommodation was comfortable and the staff very friendly, however for me it lacked the special 'something' that I expect at the top end of the safari market. Everything was very good so it is difficult to describe exactly what was missing. The only communal areas were the bar and dining areas - so maybe the absence of a communal lounge area gives less of a 'laid back' feel. Many of the camps we have stayed in have a clear tipping

We came to Little Governors' for our first taste of Safari. It was as good as we hoped and certainly lived up to the reviews we have read here. During our stay David took over as manager and was excellent with a consummate understanding of the natural history of the area. The staff were brilliant, our driver was Oliver who also lived up to the reports on him. Our travelling company was knowledgable and returning for a second visit. Breakfast out was most enjoyable and meant we could spend time looking for the Leopold with her 2 month old Cubs. The Mara is certainly somewhere you can expect to see a vast range of wildlife although rhinos eluded us this time! You can balance that disappointment with the fact we couldn't have been closer to elephant than when we arrived. A

My wife and I visited Little Governors' Camp for three nights at the start of our honeymoon in October '15 and we had a simply wonderful time. The accommodation is great as we enjoyed staying in a luxury 'tent'. The safari driver assigned to us was absolutely brilliant; very knowledgeable and friendly. The food and service in the camp were also both first class. We will definitely recommend Little Governors' to friends and we would love to go back. It is interesting to note that a couple who were there at the same time as us were visiting for the 12th time.

Our stay at Governo's Camp was outstanding. It was my third visit - and it was just as good, if not better than the first. Service was first class. Arrangements were tailored to our exact requirements. The setting is, as ever, beautiful. Tents and beds most comfotrable. All the staff were excellent - special thanks to George Murray, the Manager; Moses our driver Nd guide; Patrick and Julius our walking safari guides, Stanley who brought our morning tra and looked after oir tent, Simon who provided endless te and cake during our afternoon painting sessions. Its not right to single anyone as this place depends on a team working effectively together putting their guests first. A truly memorable experince, highly recommended.

Little Governors camp is a slice of heaven in the middle of the bush! 17 luxury tents surrounding a swamp filled with birds and wildlife all day and night. Not uncommon to see zebra wandering through the tented area, elephant, hippo, warthogs as there are no fences. The evening sounds after going to bed are wonderful. Three game drives first at 6-6:30am pending what you set up, second at 10:30-11am, last at 3:30-4pm. Migration time now was wonderful to see the wildebeest, zebra and topi going across the Mara River. Great time to be in the Mara. There is an abundance of excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hot appetizer each night while at the bar talking with the other guests on how their game drive was. George the general manager is superb..always making sure

Our fourth time on Masai Mara and never fails to impress. On a previous visit stayed at Il Moran, which was brilliant, so thought try Little Governors this time. Stayed for four nights. The location is stunning, with the marsh directly in frint of tent, so you can sit on veranda and watch the wildlife. The Manager George was very welcoming and always ready for a chat about you game drive experiences, but all the team were friendly and always ready for a chat. Special thanks to Richard who looked after our accomadation so well and Emmanuel who served our food. But the star for us was Ngie, a brilliant guide, who managed to give us so many unique experiences. More lions than we have ever seen, from youngsters to full grown males, a Cheetah on the bonnet of the vehicle,Lions with

We had a really fantastic time at Little Governors, all the staff were so helpful and really looked after us. We'd recommend asking for Collins, who was our very knowledgeable driver/guide. Balloon ride is a must. Tents were really comfortable. It was amazing to see elephants wandering through the camp and to hear a hippo chomping the grass right outside our tent!

Awesome Camp - Not too large. Elephants wander through the camp, the resident hippo nibbles on grass outside your tent at night. Incredible chef George, who even had plenty for us to eat with our vegetarian diet. Our guide Bernard was the best and spotted things that amazed us. Julius, our waited, was funny and fantastic. Love this place
