Cheers Midtown is a cozy boutique hostel located in the heart of the typical Ottoman district of Beyoglu. Its prime location allows easy walking access to main transport systems (tram/ferry at the end of the street) and is located only 10 minutes walk to Galata Bridge connecting you to the Egyptian Spice Bazaar, Fish Market and an abundance of other tourist attractions Sultanahmet will delight you by. Istiklal Street is only minutes away providing the gateway to the bustling nightlife of Tunel & the many cafés, bars, roof top terraces and memorable Meyhanes of Beyoglu.
Dirty bathrooms, unfriendly and hostile staff, antisocial atmosphere. One of the toilet seat in the bathroom was broken for two days. The air conditioning in my room didn't work for several days. I slept in a sweat for 2 days. Although I extended my stay by paying more money in advance, the staff "accidentally" reassigned the room to someone else and threw my things away. Instead of apologizing, the staff lost their temper and yelled at me for demanding my stuff back. I have no idea how this hostel has good reviews on the internet. The good reviews is the reason I chose and boy was i disappointed. It was truly hands down the worst hostel experience in my round the world trip across dozens of countries and 40+ hostels

We stayed here our second time in Istanbul and loved it. Super nice and easygoing staff with great recommendations for activities and places to eat. Bit of a walk to the major attractions but don’t let this deter you. It’s a fantastic location if you want to really feel the heart of the city. Dorms are clean with plenty of locker space.

Very great location next to the hammam and a lot of cool nightlife and restaurants. The hosts were kind and the rooms were simple and comfortable. When I was there it was definitely a social hostel but not a wild crazy messy hostel which was perfect for what I needed.

Abdul and Ali were both great hosts and really made the place feel like home. They made sure to answer any questions I had about Istanbul and also helped me with getting a PCR test before going back home to the U.S. I really liked the midtown location as well since Taksim Square was only a 15min walk away and about five minutes to walk to the tram which made it easy to get to most spots in the city. Definitely coming back here next time I’m in Istanbul!

We stayed at Cheers Midtown last night after seeing great reviews. As soon as we got there we realized we had been fooled by nice (perhaps very old) photographs. The gentleman who greeted us was very nice and (as we’d made a mistake and booked a dorm for 1 night and a private room for the following 2) informed us that we could have the private room for all 3 nights at no extra charge. However, once we reached our floor (no lift), we were met with a very strong smell of mildew/drains which we later saw was due to a leak in the toilet. After looking deeper at reviews we saw that the toilet leak and smell had been reported as far back as May 2019! There was only one toilet on our floor and, from what we could hear, a hostel full of guests. Our room was very disappointing and looked very little like the photos we’d seen; the walls had marks all over them, the door had clearly come off its hinges and had been crudely been reattached - leading to our do our not closing or locking properly - and the linens were very old and looked worse for wear. We swiftly decided to stay just one night at Cheers (our flight had arrived late in the evening) and were fortunately able to cancel the remaining nights. Please look throughly into different reviews before staying at Cheers so as to avoid disappointment.…

Nice cheap hostel located a 5 minute walk from Istiklal Street. Staff are really nice, one ran to a shop nearby to print something for me and they are very helpful with travel advice. Bedding fresh and nice duvets, but my bed had some broken panel below it and the ceiling was peeling off. The dorm room was a bit small, choose a bed with a plug to charge phone, they have lockers for valuables. Clean bathrooms, I saw them offering free towels for those who needed it. It is not a large hostel so a bit quiet not a very social atmosphere but there may be a few travelers there possibly to mix with, there is no view, and no lounge it the coffee shop has tables, in the am there is a nice light breakfast of bread and vegetables and jam,I found out there is a kitchen for use, but it doesn't really have a stove so not good for cooking, maybe just the fridge and to make coffee. Overall a good option…

Istanbul becomes amazing when you stay in places like Cheers Midtown, where the staff is friendly, the ambiance is super social and the location super central. I stayed here for 4 nights and could easily stayed for longer. Oh, and the breakfast every morning is the best way to start your day.
