Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Ramada by Wyndham İstanbul Pera receives accolades for its strategically located premises close to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street, with guests frequently commending the cleanliness and the warm, professional service on offer. However, the hotel's promise of luxury seems to fall short for some guests, who cite overpricing and discrepancies in amenities. While the rooms are celebrated for their tidiness and comfort, concerns about soundproofing, space, and upkeep are mentioned. Furthermore, despite the rooftop pool and dinner atmosphere contributing to the hotel's charm, a few visitors feel there's room for improvement in creating a more vibrant ambiance.

I booked this hotel for a five night stay through Love Holidays (who I book 4/5 holidays per year with), thinking that it would have good standards, being a Ramada Hotel. However it was the WORST hotel we have ever stayed in. The standard rooms are extremely small with horrible views of adjacent buildings at close proximity. On our first night at the hotel, after a exhausting day of travelling, we were kept awake by people and children playing instruments and making noise in the street outside until 2.30 am (2nd floor). The next morning we raised our concerns to the Manager at reception, he offered to change our room on our return from sight seeing. So we packed our stuff and went down for breakfast. OMG where do I start! Breakfast and dinner at the this hotel was absolutely atrocious! It was actually shocking. Breakfast consists of salad, tasteless plain eggs, boiled eggs, bread (but no butter), honey/jams, a few cold Turkish dishes, sliced apples, oranges, grapefruit and pears. Nothing was labelled and nor was any food hot. There was no cereals, toast, sausages, beans, bacon, croissants or yogurts. The hot drinks machine was poor and the quality of drinks was terrible. The restaurant staff were pleasant but didn't have a clue how to be efficient. I didn't bother going down for breakfast for the rest of my stay. You would think that after complaining about the noise in the street outside the room and not being able to sleep all night, the Manager would have ensured to have moved us to a quieter room. We were moved to the 4th floor, next to the lift. The room was slightly bigger, however the view was worse than the first room we were given and the sink was in the bedroom which was annoying as when one of us went to the bathroom during the night we would have to put the light on in the bedroom to wash our hands, disturbing the other. The only English channel is CNN news. I literally wanted to cry on the second night when the clubs and bars on the street outside our room opened at 11.00 pm. All we could hear was thumping music and people partying until 3.00 am in the morning every night. I caught my nail in the sharp edged mirror wardrobe door and snapped my nail. It caused me a lot of pain and was bleeding. When I went to reception to ask for a plaster, I wasn't even asked how I had hurt my finger or if I was okay, shocking hospitality! Our bed side cabinet was disgustingly dirty and dusty. It looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for months and wasn't cleaned during our stay either. Unfortunately we again had to complain to the Manager at reception who was extremely rude in saying that the hotel is surrounded by bars and clubs hence the noise! He offered to move us again but was offering us another tiny room again. My 64 year old mum did not want to have to pack all her belongings a second day running and said that we will just stay in the noisy room. Which in fact ruined our first visit and stay in Turkey as we both only got a minimum of a few hours of sleep per night. Friday was the worst as the clubs were pen until 4.00 am! Dinner was dreadful, consisting off salads (no dressings), 4 cold tasteless dishes, 2/3 cakes which when finished (in the first hour) were never replenished and soup. We ate the soup for two evenings because it was the only hot food provided. We ended up eating out for the majority of our stay. Absolute waste of our money the half board was. The hotel has a lovely indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and stream room which is free of charge. However I couldn't find any changing rooms. The spa was the best thing about this hotel. The hotel is a five minute walk to the main shopping street which leads you to Taksim square - 20 minute walk. Boat trips and cruises start from 5 euros from excursion places outside of the hotel. We went on a evening cruise with a 3 course meal, drinks and dancers for £30. Well worth it and was our favourite experience in Turkey. Don't be ripped off by people selling perfumes and aftershaves on the streets, as they are all fake, regardless of what they tell you. The exchange rate is a lot better in Turkey than it is in the UK so exchange your money out there. You leave a deposit for a travel card at the hotel, which you can top up at yellow machines near the transport stations and use on all the transport in Istanbul. Its costs just over 17 Turkish lira per person to travel to one destination. Cheaper and quicker than taxis. This hotel is approx 45 - 60 mins from SAW airport depending on traffic and costs around £40.

As mentioned by many reviews already: THIS IS NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL! I do not know how they have gained the accreditation, but it is at best a three. Firstly, location of the hotel is excellent. The staff at check in were very nice, but the organisation is pretty messy. I was asked to sign the same registration form three times by two different staff members. From arriving at the desk to getting my key, it took almost ten minutes. What was funny afterwards was that my belly could not find the room that I was given and we walked the entire floor and two annexes until we found my room. The room was sufficiently clean, but small and badly designed. I was given a complimentary upgrade from a standard room, which was very nice of the staff, but even the 'deluxe' room was tiny and I had to climb into the bed directly from the doorway. The room had a strange bend corner, where there is about 8 square meter space with nothing there. The scene at the breakfast was just pure chaos. I am more reminded of a train station eatery than a five star hotel. There were no registration so anyone can just come and eat. As a result, the restaurant was seriously overpacked and some people were eating standing. There were not enough cutlery and I had to wait for at least five minutes to just get a fork (knives were not available for another 20 minutes). Food was lukewarm and just pretty tasteless. Overall, I would definitely not be returning to this place. The staff were generally very nice, but the rooms are really not very good and the general management and amenities just way too poor to justify the price.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It’s not maximum 3 stars, not 5. I honestly don’t understand how it could be given 5 starts (photos attached). First, the hotel is in very poor conditions. The rooms are dirty, many things are broken (lamps, pockets, doors, and etc, photos attached). Second, in all rooms, it’s very loud and noisy. First room we’ve been given was 6105/6, room facing the wall, definitely smaller then 20m2 and as receptionist told us «very quiet». At 9 pm very loud music from the nearby restaurant has started like it was in our room. We asked to change because it was not possible to sleep there. They gave us choice, room on 1 st floor without window and with loud ventilation or room 2125, super small, definitely less than 20 m2 which are stated on the website when you book and dirty, and many things are half broken. At night it gets super stuffy, so you need to open the window and it’s very loud from the outside. Also you hear everything from the corridor and your neighbours, not possible to sleep. We barely slept this night. Third, in all the hotel very strange smell/fragrance everywhere, difficult to breathe in corridors. Four, at breakfast, there is no space to seat, there is queue of people. The breakfast is okay, but definitely not 5 star hotel as they rate themselves. Fifth, the guest relations manager who was on duty (4.02.2024) was super rude and awful. I ask the management to talk to her and give punishment to how she treats guests. When I asked her what was her name to include in review she almost kicked me so I wouldn’t see her name. She also speaks very poor English for her position. She refused to give the refund, for the rest of the stay, offered switch the room (photos attached). The rooms were the same, in super poor conditions, facing the same wall with the same club outside. The exact words guest relations manager (name starts with c, was on duty 04.02.2024) told me « I show you the room, if you don’t like it you’re free », great service and impression from the stay and everything, thanks :) Sixth, when we were leaving after one night in this «amazing 5 star hotel », I asked the receptionist (04.02.2024) to give me the book for complaints, he refused to give it to me. The guest relations manager was there, looking all red, and hided her name badge. Overall experience, was awful, I was happy to leave this place even without the refund. Definitely not recommended. It’s 3 stars hotel maximum.

It was nice on my trip to Istanbul to choose this hotel. It was a really nice experience with them and it was nice to meet employees who spoke kindly and helped the guests with love. What is incomparable to any other place is the location of this hotel in the city center. You can go to the most famous street in Istanbul in a few minutes, so I recommend everyone to visit it 🤍🤍

Amazing hotel and staff, the hotel is very clean and was cleaned on daily basis. The lady cleaning the room even folded my pjs. This hotel is in an amazing location. WiFi works well and you can watch YouTube and Netflix on the tv. Close to train station and Taksim and only 10 minutes from galata tower will definitely stay again !
