Detailed Reviews
Room - i booked a suite which was nice once we were in the room. The lobby is HEAVILY scented, I learned I am allergic to lemongrass scent, it is actually a few hotels in the same block that share the same elevators and pool, the pool is really small and would not recommend booking for the pool or bar area, always people there and not that big (shared between several hotels), the breakfast was great but the elevators open into one of the restaurants.
I felt okay about my stay, I stayed at several hotels throughout Vietnam and this was actually one of my least favourite for the price.
The executive lounge and pool access is not worth the increase in price. felt ripped off from that, breakfast was good if you need it - lots of restaurants around though so I would pass next time personally.

This matrix of multiple hotels was filled with lovely quirks and great service. Perfect central location to walk to all the touristy spots.
So this confused me before travelling. The hotel is 3 hotels (Alagon, Alagon City and Alagon Plus), all share the common areas of the downstairs dining (the Alagon gets a slightly nicer separate dining area), the pool, spa and rooftop bar. These were obviously made from existing buildings later attached together making the layout a bit of a maze.
The room itself was charming, clean and cozy - even without a window. The bathroom was clean, with mini toiletries provided. The bathtub was a bit on the creaky side for showering - felt like I might crack it and I’m not large. It also wasn’t sealed with sealant to the wall, which I found a bit on the odd side.
The rooftop was the highlight, and was perfect to go to after a day of exploring. With two bar areas, each with great views, and serve great food (you can get the ground floor dining menu served up there too which was ideal!). The pool was small, and a little on the cold side, but perfect for a refresh from the city heat. There was sauna (although oddly only for men) and steam room, which was great, and the jacuzzi had a great view over the city - perfect for nighttime!
Loved this hotel, highly recommend!

great location, near bars and malls and restaurants, the pool looks good in the pictures but its quite small and not a lot of room for the number of rooms in the hotel, my friend went to breakfast and said it was very good, I was too lazy to get out of bed. Staff were good the room was clean.
The room was noisy and you can hear everything going on outside the door in the morning, the lift broke down several times.

The WiFi is so spotty it often wouldn’t work and would take a while to load while looking things up on my phone.
On the second night I stayed here I walk into my room, and it had been cleaned. Where 2 complimentary waters were the day before that I had drunken and thrown away, were replaced with 1 full bottle and a half drunken bottle... not drunk by me. Yup. The maid service replaced the water with a half drunken water. This sketched me out and made me wonder what else isn’t properly cleaned or simply re-used! Yuck!!!!! I called to complain and they brought up new water. It was nice but still really grossed me out: makes me wonder if they are reusing towels too
The rooftop bar is so expensive. I’ve traveled all throughout Vietnam and have never paid more than 35k VND for local beer. Here it is 65 k VND. Just crazy! Service charge and tax on top of every bill. Food is just ok...mediocre at best
The pool is small and has leaves in it.
Overall, I’m very unimpressed with this hotel and the problems I encountered.

We had an awesome stay in saigon and especially in the Alagon Central Hotel. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety of asian and western cusine. Check in and receptionservice were very nice and helpfull, especially Mike, who offers as a very smooth check out with shower after the checkout!

Best breakfast ever! Superb service and friendly staff. The staff could not do enough for us, they were helpful and honest. They give excellent advice for getting around and will help you plan the most affective and affordable options. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Great location. All staff take great pride in their hospitality.

+1
I stayed here with my 3 children. It was a great location close to Banh tan markets. The room was clean the toiletries were lovely and the breakfast was great. The only downside was the pool it was small and it was hard to get a deck chair. Saying all this it was great value for money and I’d stay here again.

Very nice hotel in district 1, centrally located. You can easily walk to restaurants and museums. Parks are nearby. The hotel offers a fabulous breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff, including Mike, are so helpful. You will make a soft landing in Ho Chi Minh City if you stay at Alagon central. Rooftop bar and pool are available, too.
