My husband and I have stayed here twice now. We have been in a room on the Bob Jones Trail with a jacuzzi tub on the patio both times. The place is so quiet that you hardly know anyone else is there. You can hear people on the trail and kids playing at the small play area at times. If you have bikes, it is a pretty easy ride into town with one hill in the golf course area. They also have bikes to check out at the property. The staff are very friendly, and it is super easy to make reservations online or make a quick call. We already have reservations to return.

I grew up in SLO, and going to Avila was a regular activity. The rebuilt Avila 2000.0 is an adorable and beautiful spot to tour and shop. The Avila Village Inn is everything the pictures show and more. Staff is friendly, and rooms are spotless. The marketplace has great food for dine in or take out. We also enjoyed a glass of wine out on the marketplace deck. Our friendly afternoon front desk host, Matt Classen, was especially kind and helpful. He arranged for coffee to be ready for our early mornings, clued us into extras at the Inn, and mailed us an item we left behind. Will stay here again, and recommend highly to others.

My wife and I have stayed her more times than we can remember. The location is a great jumping off location for the beach, SLO, Cambria, San Simeon, Pismo, etc. It's also great that they have bikes free to use for a few hours to ride down to the beach along the river trail. We'll be back!

We love the mountain feel, while being close to the beach. There is a large stone fireplace and seating area in the lobby that is warm and inviting. The location is peaceful and quiet...away from the crowds. Avila Village Inn is our favorite place to stay in Avila!

The aesthetics of the Inn were nice. I see where people who stay there are happy with it, but we were unhappy with our stay. We were given room 103, extremely close to the lobby. We could hear conversations easily throughout our stay, which means people in the lobby could hear us as well. We also could hear foot traffic above throughout the night, waking me frequently. The bathtub had two large sliding glass doors which were extremely difficult to move. The toilet paper holder was broken, so when it was used, the roll would fall off. When we asked the front desk staff for restaurant suggestions, they had none. When asked for a map of the trail they had bikes for, there was none. We were very dissatisfied with our stay. During COVID, all amenities are closed, so there is no benefit there. I strongly suggest for the price, a water front property such as the Spyglass Inn where we stayed the following night. It was cheaper and the view so much nicer.

Dear rtorre284447- Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent stay. I was extremely disheartened to read your comments, as we pride ourselves on being able to provide a great experience for each guest we encounter. It is always my hope to be able to address any issues or concerns you might have while you are still on property to make it right. I will be speaking with our team and addressing the issues you mentioned above. Again, thank you for your comments and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back sometime in the future. The inn is very cozy and inviting. It’s about a 10 minute bike ride to the beach. They provide a bike rental for 2 hours for free also. Overall a GREAT experience!!! The only reason that I gave the customer service a low rating is because the entire time we stayed the lady working the front desk seemed to be bothered if you asked her to do anything. The other front desk person (Matt) was great and helped us with anything we needed. We will be going back for sure and also recommending this inn to family and friends.

We love Avila Village Inn. The service/hospitality here is always wonderful. The staff are warm, accommodating, and friendly. In regards to the rooms, I do wish that the upkeep of furniture was a little better -- some of the chairs and lights are showing signs of aging. For the price charged, I feel like this is a reasonable request. The environment, of course, is lovely, as is the location! I hear that renovations will be coming in the future, and I look forward to them!

Dear WordPlayRay, Thank you for the great review! We are so happy to hear that AVI is your home away from home. That is just about the best compliment we could receive! You are correct that renovations are in the works. It's a slow process but we are crossing items off the list and look forward to bringing things back up to date. Thank you for your continued patronage and look forward to having you back soon! Sincerely, Mindy Hunter General Manager

Poorly taken care of. Rooms had chipped paint, no tv’s in bedroom, and shower leaked all over the floor. $400 for a night was a waste of money. Called for a change of room but wasn’t offered one. Too bad. It was a nice hotel once.

Dear Maggie, Thank you for taking the time to let me know about your visit. I was very disheartened to read your review, as we always hope to provide an exceptional experience for each guest. The property is hidden in the back of a road and surrounded by trees. Front desk staff was nice and friendly. They gave us a complimentary free wine tasting card but never got a chance to use it. The room was clean but could use a little updating. There is no Smart TV, FYI. I feel like that should be upgraded. We loved the hot tub and the big shower. It is less than a 5 min drive to Avila Beach which was great.

We also stayed there this past May. The same answer as above from Mike. But for even a better breakfast, lunch or dinner, try the Fat Cats Cafe on the right side just before you go onto the pier.

Hi Jonathan, With the equipment we have from the cable company it does not allow for program features. If you choose the 'menu' button on the remote, it will display the name of the channel, but no program info unfortunately. We are working with them to find a solution. Let us know if you have any other questions!
