Very rude unhelpful reception staff. Paperwork said 2pm check in. Receptionist abruptly said it was wrong. She never checked to see if room was ready. Never mind, could we buy a coffee til 3pm. Answer no. Because she’d hurt her wrist & couldn’t make it! I kid you not. The reception staff seemed to have no knowledge of the city they lived in. Couldn’t help with taxis etc. very dismissive. There were other instances similar to this & we weren’t the only guests to find this. The reception & bar staff seemed only interested in sitting at a table & chatting. God forbid they actually had to get up & attend to a guest. In the four nights I stayed I never saw any supervision or management of reception staff, which could be the problem? Continental breakfast ample & staff in breakfast room helpful & pleasant. Room basic but clean. I doubt this hotel will be open long. Any management reading this?

When we are going to see a gig in the Puskas arena or in the Papp Laszlo arena - this hotel is very convenient Located in the heroes square, with a parking lot on the premises , with a very nice and friendly staff , clean rooms and clean bathrooms ... it is ideal for the usual 1-2 nights we spend prior after the concerts we go to see in Budapest. Facilities are very good - good Wi--Fi , it is connected , in the Heroes square you got public transportation , buses , metro ... so everything you need ... getting to Pap Laszlo or to the Puskas stadium - is only 15-20 minutes walk ... so it is no issue , only if the weather ain't right , than you got issues ... The lobby bar is open till about midnight - and past it, if there are customers ... also the breakfast in the morning is very good and you can have options before you hit the road. So should you need a place for the night - you only need bed and breakfast and nothing fancy - this is the right hotel for you ... so very good from all perspectives

Very nice hotel. Value for money. Breakfast was good for the price. Room was small but windows were able to be opened so it did not feel too hot. Cleaning service was good. A good location right next to heroes square. So overall quite satisfied. Just cutting 1 star for more breakfast variety.

Very basic hotel. Breakfast is ham cheese scrambled egg and breads. No hairdryer tea / coffee in room. Staff ok, gentlemen who did the bar in the evening was very pleasant. Location is great M1 6 stops to very centre (ritz Carlton) shopping street. Pint was good value, however no used the bar as staff appeared to switch of lights in sitting area

A good hotel with decent rooms and friendly staff. It is near to many attractions, such as the Heroes Square and the baths. Public transportation near the hotel is also very good. Overall, a very decent place to stay in Budapest.

When first arriving for check in, the receptionist was unwelcoming and not friendly. Very abrupt. Hardy gave us eye contact. Cannot blame language barrier as his English was very good. We seen that there was no hot water for 2 days between 8am. When we clarified this his response was just “no”. No apology and acted like he did not care. We was not informed of this prior check in and he did not inform us. We had to read the notice in the lift after checking in. We understand maintenance is needed however more communication around this would have been nice. During the stay, we requested for bedding/ bed sheets to be changed and re-made. Using change bed card, however bedding was not changed. I know this because there was a black mark on the bed sheets which remained. A fire alarm went off around 7am - we believe this was a test as went off twice for approx 10 seconds however this was not communicated to us. When phoned reception to clarify, we had no response. We were left very confused, and comp as to what was happening as no one was around for reassurance. One morning we had the continental breakfast. Was just OK and probably not worth the cost. We used local cafes eating places for rest of the stay which was better value for money. The room we was given was on a main road (which cannot be helped). When asked if room can be changed, again staff was very abrupt and no apology. Multiple occasions we went for assistance at bar/reception area. Staff was just standing around talking (can see we were there) how we just ignored us - no “can I help you or someone will be along soon”. All staff was rude, unwelcoming and acted like we was invisible. Only staff member that made a good contribution to our stay was a barman (pal i think his name was). He was only friendly and welcoming staff member in the hotel) Location was great, close to a metro and hero’s square. However overall hotel stay was very disappointing

Just Retuned from a 3 night stay in ibis , heroes square. Arrived late at night. The staff member was very welcoming, check in was a breeze. Our room was on the 4th floor. And was quiet. The reception area was very nice, and there was a bar, so we had a quick beer before we went to our room, after our long journey. The room itself was clean , spacious, and plenty of room to hang your clothes. There was also a safe provided. The bathroom with shower was very clean, and the shower worked perfectly. There was also a TV for use. The breakfast was plentiful and choice was good. However the last day we were there, we went down for breakfast, and there was no plates, no cutlery, not enough hot food ready, also there was no milk in one of the coffee machines.so we had to wait a while for these items to be replenished. We purchased a budapest card to make our stay in budapest easier, we had a great help from the hotel staff directing us places, and organising a shuttle bus service to pick us up from the hotel, to go back to the airport. That was a great help. Thanks again to that staff member 👍 . So , in summary, Room good, hotel staff really good, great location ( bus stop right outside front door, and a subway station just around the corner. Buy a budapest travel card, great value, and great convenience for using all the transport links.) Breakfast- food good, however try not to let things run out as much as we experienced. A couple of things to brush up on, but all in all , a really good stay, and would definitely return 👍

Guys I stayed in this hotel during my Easter visit to Budapest with my husband and my kid. I would say that the most rude people of whole Budapest are working in this hotel. Apart from one old gentleman, each and every staff of this hotel was rude, impatient, sarcastic, unkind and useless. Just avoid this hotel if you want to have a pleasant experience in your vacation. The staff in this hotel are frustrated in their personal lives seems and hence they throw attitude at you and behave like rotten employees.

We visited Budapest for the first time in January and picked this hotel based on the price. It was one of the cheapest we saw however the quality of it was amazing and we have already recommended this hotel to other friends who are looking at visiting Budapest. The staff at the reception desk were very welcoming and accommodating when we arrived late on an evening. Check in and payment was very straight forward, something I sometimes worry about when visiting a foreign country. Our room was very spacious and very clean, equipped with towels, hair dryer, wardrobe space and a TV. More than what we expected for the money. The hotel is in a great location, in less than 10 minutes you can walk to the thermal spa and Busapest Zoo. We also purchased 24 hour travel card which allowed us to use their buses, trams and underground all which was close by to the hotel. I really enjoyed our stay here at the IBIS heroes Square Hotel☺️

While the room was small, the service was all smiles and welcoming. The location is conveniently located 10 minutes away by walking from the famous Széchenyi Thermal Bath, and the Budapest Zoo. Széchenyi Thermal Bath requires patrons to come with their own towels, if not one pays a hefty amount just for a towel. That's where Ibis Heroes Square saved us - they provide towels for guests for a deposit of 10 Euros. Comfortable and cosy, without a doubt.
