The first impression is how beautiful, praceful and well-kept this hotel is! So, I must mention here clearly that this hotel is for those, who want to have a break from everyday hustle and bustle. Obviously, being a monastery, you'll encounter a few nuns here and there around the premises, stumble upon a couple of priests/monks, hear some hymns after or during your breakfast time. But, you know what, those hymns, the birds singing in the morning, the church bells during the calm midday, the tranquility of the area, the beautiful garden/orchard, the water spring, the surroundings...they all make you feel like you're being healed from inside out! You don't have to be religious to stay here and enjoy the atmosphere that Maria Hilf provides. You just feel like you needed that, trust me! The German buffet breakfast is descent, the staff members are helpful, diligent and affable. (Don't expect them to talk back to you in fluent English though. Instead, make an excuse to learn some basic German, if you can!) The room was clean and smelled good. Dinners are served only when you book in advance via the information desk. Parking places are in abundance. And, for those who have a bad habit of snacking during the night, there is a vending machine and hot/cold drinks, all night long! Once in a while, they have some special evenings and religious programs but as guests, all are welcome. We did not have a single disappointing moment in Kloster Maria Hilf, but instead, rightaway we started missing it already the day we left from there! What more can I write!…
