A peaceful and well-appointed B&B with nice rooms on the hillsides beneath Ravello. The main drawback, as previous reviewers have noted, is the length and steepness of the climb up to (and down from) Ravello. The hot water in the bathrooms is rather tepid. Credit cards are not accepted.

Staying in this B&B taught me to take seriously the negative feedbacks of other travelers and don't just look at the pictures. The view obviously is beautiful but the B&B has old rooms, clean but not really like the pictures. The B&B is not well maintained or kept nice and clean, you find the leaves every where and not leaves that fell the last days , leaves of many days . The big issue here is the deep steps, I have done trekking and walks all my life and these steps are absolutely no go, I'm 35 years old and practicing sport and I needed to take 4 breaks to go up to the city center, all my focus during my stay was "How can I get my luggage up the steps" it was a nightmare and there is no help from the owners to carry the luggage, but even if thy offer that, up and down without carring anything still super challenging.

Would avoid staying here at all costs! On google the B&B appears to be a great location, in reality it’s absolutely awful. The B&B is located 30 floors (300 steep steps) down the mountain. In order to make it to Ravello it takes 40 minutes. The owners of the house (older couple) are arrogant and terrible hosts. They make you feel that you should kiss their feet for allowing you to stay in their b&b. We arrived at 2am from a wedding in Ravello, rang the doorbell to get let in then got yelled at by the two owners for waking them up to let us into the b&b. Trust me, do not stay at this awful place.

My wife and I Stayed for one night in mid August 2019 because we wanted to stay one night in Ravello. The Good - view is amazing and room is quite decent. The Bad - host /old generation Italian male/ came across as very arrogant and made us feel as if he was hosting us for free. Lots of warnings and “do nots” within the suite with very little welcoming notes or local tips/recommendations. The Ugly - you have to descend 250 steps or the equivalent of 16 storeys from where you park your car at the top of the hill. The walk to Ravello is about a kilometre uphill including the aforementioned 16 storeys of steps. Be ready to sweat upon arrival and to get one hell of a step master workout every time you leave the premises. The Hope - the wife and daughter were a lot more friendlier and welcoming but did not seem to be the ones calling the shots... maybe one day they will. FULL DISCLOSURE ON THE 16 STOREYS OF STEPS MUST BE IMPLEMENTED, this is a mountain town after all and one should expect to climb steps but not outrageously without warning.

What is not to like at getting up in the morning and watching the glorious morning sun shine over the wonderful terraces, lemon trees and the Mediterranean sea. A simply incredible view. The location is both an advantage and a disadvantage (more on that on the negative side). The hosts, Luigi and his wife, were wonderful hosts, ready to help whenever they could. The room was very comfy (maybe the pillows could be softer, but that is very subjective), had everything we needed and AC (useful during the day, but less so at night). Breakfast is pretty basic and the Wifi very good (specially compared to other accommodations in Italy). Tip: Make sure you have all the basics with you (water, juice, sweets... whatever floats you boat). There is no store within a decent range and without going up the stairs. The only real issue is the location. The terrace and the view is totally incredible, however the downside is that you have to climb up or down some 200+ stairs which is no easy even for those is pretty good physical shape. One other minor issue is that that the running water is not always hot, but sometimes goes cold. Tip: go down the stairs if you want to go to Amalfi (you can even walk some 20 min... no need for bus) and when you go back stop in the center of Ravello. So you won't have to climb any stairs. Of course if you just want to go directly the center of Ravello there is no way around it.

The beauty of the place is overtaken by the 260 steps it takes to reach the place. But that's 260 steps to go up to the town and then 260 steps to return. There were also no toiletries at all in the bathroom. Just towels. I definitely wouldn't stay there again. Unless you plan to go there and not go into town.

We slept for a night in the suite, it was 4 of us. The suite is spacious and well organized, the decor very pretty. The location is just stunning, we were breathless when we first came in. The terrace (belonging to the suite) just overlooks on the Coast and there's a huge lemon tree cultivation (owned by the hosts) on the right hand side. They cultivate biological lemons and they also gifted us few of them. Breakfast is great, homemade and great variety. There are 260 stairs to get down to reach the apartment. If you have suitcases, I won't recommend it, otherwise it is just the perfect place for a relaxing getaway, still in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, from where you can also start off few walking trails to the next towns. Rosalba (the owner) is very kind. It was just a dream, would definitely come back.

We went to Ravello for a Wedding, and after finding this place went through our travel agent to book a room for 4 nights. We arrived late afternoon with two suite cases and two hand cases. There was no phone number to contact, but a Taxi driver called Luigi to inform him we couldn't possibly carry anything down the steps. ( we hadn't seen the steps yet) Luigi drove up to the top with his car about 30-45mins later to pick us up, and arranged someone to carry our luagage down. We are in our early 70 to late 60 wouldn't have booked if this was stated on website. We walked down with my husband helping me out as the steps are very steep and uneven. There was a rail for about 5-10mts. We no choice but to stay that first night, the Wedding party were having a WELCOME dinner and we were already late. That first night meant three trips up and down those steps. From the entry of the property there are also about 30-40 steps to the room. When we arrived and it was clear that we hadn't coped with the one trip down, Rosalba mentioned that we could get a refund if we decided not to stay. Next morning we spoke with Luigi that it was very dangious for us to stay there as we had nearly take a tumble the night before, and the steep stairs were impossable for us to do for four days. There was no way Luigi would get us a refund, we left that morning to find new accommodation. There wasn't any soap in the bathroom and we couldn't open the hand-wash pump until it broke. I checked the website for this place that night and there were no mention of the steep steps and all reviews looked good and mention 15-17mins walk to center.. Not true, from the top of the steps it's still another 15-20mins along the road. We didn't walk as a lovely lady gave us a lift to the center. Thank you to that lady.:-)

I would not recommend this place if you like a nice and carefree holiday. The owner Luigi Caponni is a crook who lets his “guests” pay for his own mistakes! We recently booked for four nights and transferd a 100 euro deposit to Luigi in advance after which our reservation was confirmed. One day before arival I contacted Luigi to ask for check in times and some parking tips. Although I didn’t get a response we drove to I limoni to find the place vacated. The phone was not answered and communication via e-mail didn’t work either. After 2 hours of strolling around the neighbor told us mr Caponni was out of town. As we needed a place to stay we booked a hotel in Ravello where I tried to contact the owner again on his mobile nr (which I got from the neighbor). The response via a text message stated that our reservation could not be found. The next day I did sent another e-mail in which I asked for a transfer of the deposit. The response from Luigi stated that he was back in town and we could stay for the remaining 3 nights, a refund of the deposit was not possible. I called mr Caponni to explain we made other plans after to continue our holiday, after which he agreed to refund. Unfortunately after 3 weeks I’m still waiting for my money.

Here's the key message: read the other reviews and decide whether you want to stay here. Then, I'd recommend not bringing your luggage down the stairs, but only your backpack with just what you need. Our interpretations of travels always amuse me. What are the trade-offs? So, I completely understand the people who had a terrible experience because of the stairs, which are fearsome, steep and unforgiving. My fitness tracker said the 260-odd stairs were equivalent of about 20 flights of stairs... and then going up to the town was even more. On the day we arrived (going down, up and to town, and back down again), my tracker said we'd climbed about 80 floors and gone down about 110! So you might plan, like we did, to just do one trip into Ravello on the full day we stayed here, and just hang out and enjoy the view, which is amazing, with lovely space to work on your laptop or read. Or you will really need to be prepared to get your exercise (and since I consider myself relatively fit, I really don't recommend this to people who aren't fit, or have trouble with stairs). On the other hand, I can relate to the other travellers, and admire those, who were willing to deal with the stairs, and enjoyed the spectacular view, the very nice breakfasts (an amazing tomato salad with tomatoes from their garden) and the lovely charm of the host family. The room was comfortable. The wifi worked. It didn't have a fridge but we could store some stuff in the B&B's fridge. It was peaceful. And with prices at a premium in Ravello (and all through the Amalfi Coast), this was the cheapest place we could find that looked nice. So, make your choice and don't do as I did, which was not read the reviews, and decide to bring down my luggage... Oh, it seems to be mosquito season, but we managed to keep them out of our room. I think I'd average my stars out to about 3.5 (negative stairs vs the pluses) but I'll raise it to 4 just for the heck of it.
