My husband and I had the privilege of a two week stay at Haus Loidl and enjoyed every moment. The B&B and its proprietors, Rosemarie and Werner, are wonderful! The house is immaculate and beautiful. The service is outstanding. The breakfasts are delicious. The town of St. Gallen is lovely and there is great hiking and nature at every turn.
We have visited many Bed & Breakfasts here in the States and none compare to Haus Loidl in Austria! We hope to visit again and again!

At the moment we arrived, the owner showed me through the window when I can park the car, she pleasant came out and ask to come in and feel like at home. She is very kind person. She showed us all house and told that we can fell comfortable at all.
House is huge, and is kept very well by a family. It is surrounded by big tall mountains from all sides and on the top of one of the picks is abandoned castle, at the bottom small river, all village together with its cute houses make a nice pastoral view and special atmosphere. It is a great filling.
So we are in the house, and on the second floor, just like on the pictures, every thing is clean and deluxe: the room, the salon and the kitchen. Truly, I even didn't expected to have all these, but the owner did everything to make us feel like at home, even more. Ouch... That apfelshtrudel was "wirklich schmackhaft" "so tasty".
I would recommend this place for every one who travels to Austria, and planning to see the real Austria. This village is authentically Austrian one. And it was pleasure to stay here.

We stayed here in both summer and winter and had fantastic holidays both times. The warmth, friendliness and hospitability of the owners, Rosemarie and Werner Loidl, made us feel instantly at home. This typically Austrian house is beautifully appointed- surrounded in summer by a lovely garden and flower covered balconies and in winter with stunning views of the little village and snow covered mountains. Our apartment was very spacious with a large kitchen, sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. It was spotlessly clean.. crisp linen sheets, wooden beams and floors. When we opened the curtains of our bedroom on the first morning, the view was breath-taking! A supermarket, little village, restaurants, ski hire shop are all within walking distance but I would reccomend hiring a car ( this can be done in the village) for getting around. There are plenty of walking routes and uncrowded ski resorts within a half hour's drive. Werner, a retired ski instructor and keen cyclist, was a fund of local knowledge and gave us so much advice on snow conditions, local weather and suggestions re ski routes. in summer, our children loved the open air swimming pool in the next village and a trip to Admont to the famous Benedictian monastery with its library, natural history museum and gardens is well worth a visit. Rosemarie is such a charming hostess with excellent English and a genuine interest in her guests. We had so many enjoyable chats about austrian traditions and culture. It was such a relaxing holiday and are already planning our next visit. I would wholeheartedly reccomend this guesthouse to all our friends.

I've had the privelege of staying at house Loidl in St. Gallen on two occasions, once in summer of 2011 and just last week in February 2013. The accomodation is superb and the breakfasts are excellent. What makes this place special are the owners. Rosemarie and Werner are truly wonderful hosts. They looked after us like family and brought us to the best ski locations in the area. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Haus Loidl.

We almost feel welcome as soon as we enter the village with the anticipation of seeing our hosts Rosemarie and Werner at the Haus Loidl. We love the top floor apartment we stay in. It is comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The whole place has a good feel to it. The location is convenient for visiting the national parks in the region or skiing in nearby Kaiserau. There are restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, banks and shops in walking distance. A short drive away is Admont, a town with more facilities and lots of history due to its monastery.

We loved our stay at Haus Loidl in St Gallen, Austria. The owners are very friendly and warm. It’s become a home away from home. Good base to explore the Styria region of Austria. Easy access to small and big ski resorts. Located near Admont town in a picturesque setting. There are opportunities for beautiful walks in the alps both in summer and winter. White water rafting and mountain biking etc. in the summer.

This is one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. RoseMarie is a lovely person who makes you feel immediately at home, and her pension/home is absolutely gorgeous. (She also speaks English well.)
The gardens, house and location are spectacular. We stayed in the apartment, which had a full kitchen, living room and bedroom, as well as two balconies with beautiful views. The bed was really comfortable, and breakfast on the rose-bedecked terrace every morning was delicious.
RoseMarie also loaned me hiking shoes (I accidentally forgot mine) and walking sticks, which enabled me to explore areas I never could have reached in my sandals. Altogether this was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back.
