Hotel Berg is a newly renovated four-star boutique hotel on two floors located above a small marina in Keflavík, where most travellers begin and end their journey in Iceland due to its short distance to the international airport. Hotel Berg is only a 5-minute drive to the airport, yet has quiet surroundings, as it is well away from the noises of the airport. All guests enjoy free access to a warm outdoor sitting pool on the rooftop. Ideal place to relax and enjoy the view, as well as to catch the northern lights or the midnight sun depending on the season. The hotel has 36 rooms. They all have free Wi-Fi, a fridge, a flat-screen TV, bathrobes and a desk. A private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer are also in every room. Property amenities besides our pool, include free coffee & tea, a spacious lounge area with a fireplace and a bar, free 24/7 shuttle to the airport for guests who are scheduled to take a flight, 24/7 front desk service and free Wi-Fi in all common areas.

A quick overnight stay before exploring the south of Iceland. Super easy check in, clean and comfortable stay with little extras that are appreciated (and not given in the much more expensive stays in the country!)

Stayed here one night because it was close to the airport and the drop off rental car place. The hotel is modern and clean. Check in was a breeze and everyone was so friendly. They offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport which is good to know. Runs every 20 minutes 24/7. I would recommend letting the front desk know if you need a shuttle because they do book up. They also have a small roof top “pool”. It’s more like a extra large hot tub. Perfect for trying to spot the northern lights if your so lucky. Perfect way to end our trip.

Head a really good day at this hotel. I was just staying one day between flights. Took a quick taxi to the hotel. They have a shuttle that brings you back to the airport. I was able to extend my stay by a few hours so I didn't have to wait around at the airport as long. Hot tub on the roof was very nice. Breakfast (paid) was typical European type hotel breakfast. Room was comfortable and I slept very well. Really like the location near the harbor.

I would have given it 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t for noise transference, we could hear people in the next room putting plugs in to sockets and we could hear people above us. Each time someone came in from a flight we’d hear doors open. Bring earplugs. Only 1 pillow each on the bed…standard of most Icelandic hotels we stayed in…but they gave us another 2 when we asked. Great staff, nice looking place, convenient for airport but at $200 for 1 night midweek, it’s a bit overpriced….but Iceland is expensive.

We booked one night in a Superior Room at the Hotel Berg for our last night after two weeks driving through Iceland. It was a very nice hotel for the end of our trip, primarily as it is only a 5-minute drive to the KEF airport where we could drop our rental car and make our way to the terminal to catch a morning flight back to the USA. The hotel is on small marina in Keflavik, surprisingly serene given its proximity to the international airport. The Rykjanestá Penisula road around the coast from Grindavik to Njardvik, just south of Keflavik, was an interesting drive, away from the crowds of tourists, for our last full day in Iceland. After checking into the hotel, which had a very friendly staff, we did drive that evening 25 kilometers south to Grindavik for a delightful dinner at the Fish House Bar & Grill. Iceland, takk fyrir, we miss you, and can't wait to get back.

I had read so many wonderful reviews, so when I was able to get a reservation coming off the cancellation list, I was thrilled. The staff is amazing, the restaurant for dinner —Fiskarinn— is really delicious; however, the rooms are small (fine), but the walls are paper thin, so we heard all our neighbors, above and beside. The rooftop pool is really a hot tub for 12, but it’s still really a nice amenity. The best thing is the free shuttle TO the airport—that is worth its weight in gold as taxis are so expensive. Breakfast starts at 7 am and they will make you a breakfast to go bag if you have an early flight, but it’s the same price as the regular breakfast, so skip that unless you want to pay a lot for pastries in a bag. There is no lunch served on site, but there is a restaurant really close to the Hotel Berg, which offers great food for lunch (and maybe for dinner, but we ate at the hotel). PROS: roof top pool; free shuttle TO hte airport; great restaurant for dinner CONS: loud rooms, can be hot, even though the windows open, away from the center or Keflavik.

We stayed here on our last night in Iceland before continuing our trip to London and Venice, We were most impressed by the staff's willingness to pack and ship our warm clothing and hiking boots back to San Francisco . The rooms and food were most adequate for an airport hotel. All inall a good experience,

Spent a day/night at Hotel Berg during an Iceland stopover on way to Europe. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and jet-lagged, but our room was ready. After taking a short nap and then heading off for an afternoon at sky lagoon, came back to our very comfortable, clean and quiet room. Hotel is small, well-maintained, right next to small harbor. Convenient to Keflavik airport, with free shuttle hotel service available.

Nice modern hotel . Quite expensive . Good location near the airport with a free transfer. Nice hot tub on the roof. Breakfast also expensive. Ended badly as our son lost his phone between the hotel and the airport. Not lots of room in a family room for 3 people

Lovely place. Kinda Scandinavian design. Still could be more comfy. Too much of minimalism. Second floor is ok with nice bed. First floor does not have enough pf furniture to put bag, sit and relax. Bathroom is very small. Still, with enough imagination and effort, it could have been a better place. Breakfast is very basic. Breakfast room is spartanian.
