2023 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Casa Delfino is a boutique hotel, housed in a 17th century Venetian mansion which used to be the private home of the family Delfino. Remaining in the same family for six generations now, hospitality and authentic charm are an important part of our heritage. Paying homage to the history of the building, all the areas have been sensitively restored to its original splendor. The appearance of this historic structure transports guests to a rare place of refined elegance, where impeccable service, distinctive style and uncommon luxuries rule the day. With just 24 guestrooms and suites, decorated with a mix of modern and classical décor and furnishings; each room has its own individual character and style. All rooms seamlessly weave architectural heritage with contemporary design. From tailor-made itineraries to unexpected treats at turndown, we love to spoil our guests. Casa Delfino’s pebbled courtyard is a romantic oasis where guests can read, relax, or simply soak up the serene ambience. But step outside this enchanted setting and you can stroll to all the main attractions, museums, restaurants, chic shops, and lively bars. The hotel is located in the heart of the walled Old Venetian Town – yet a world apart. Simplicity, tranquility and time. These elements are so often missing in our frenetic modern lives. Wouldn’t a little luxurious down-time at the Spa be sheer perfection? Pampering and sheer indulgence…every moment of it catered to your every need. And when the sun goes down enjoy a drink at the spectacular roof terrace. With its sensational views over the harbor and the sea, there’s no better place to be at sunset.

This was without a doubt the best hotel we (my son and I) stayed in during our recent 2-week vacation to Greece and Cyprus. It is a refurbished mansion (some of the Delfino family is still involved in the hotel operations) and is beautifully designed. The location couldn't be better, based in the winding alleyways of Chania, near the Venetian port. While the hotel doesn't serve dinner, it is close to many wonderful restaurants. The staff was amazing. I want to particularly give a shout out to Chrissie who gave us all sorts of ideas for places to visit, hikes, restaurants, etc. during our stay. The hotel was reasonably priced and included a nice breakfast selection (we were there in the low season). This hotel comes with our highest recommendation.

Stayed here 4 nights with my wife. We are Greek Americans and have spent a lot of time visiting many places in Greece. Crete is amazing and this hotel is outstanding. Perfect Chania town location. Great for walking everywhere. Staff is attentive and pleasant!. The owner was present and introduced herself. She takes great pride in the hotel which has Greek and Venetian history. She is hands on and ensures all is excellent.

We recently had a 4 night stay at Casa Delfino. The only possible fault is on our end, that we did not stay longer. Our room was large and luxurious with 3 windows that you could open and see a beautiful view of the harbor, leaning out a bit. They had metal bars across each, so it was quite safe. We needed to go up a few flights of stairs, and they were decorated as beautifully as the entire hotel. The daily cleaning service was excellent and respectful. The staff was wonderful and made us feel completely at home. They made a reservation for us at a fantastic restaurant, Oinopoieio, that was not in the tourist area and was quite impressive, with both service and food. They also made renting a car very easy. There was always someone (or more) available to help with any questions we had. I can not say enough about the breakfasts. There was cereal, breads, fruit, and on demand cooked eggs. Meats and cheeses were abundant. The casseroles were absolutely amazing. There was one in particular that I adored. And not to forget the desserts, which were as decadent as the casseroles. We considered ourselves very fortunate to have been guests at Casa Delfino.

What a lovely small hotel in a Venetian palace from the 1400s. You do need to be able to climb stairs. I was on the fourth floor. The staff treated me like I was a friend. A big shout out to Chrissy and Eleni. They were quick to arrange anything I needed. There is a rooftop bar that has a beautiful view. Especially at night

This gem of a hotel gets great reviews and it deserves them. The service is impeccable -they are helpful without being obsequious. Our room, although without a view, was a suite and bathroom was large with great shower. Breakfast, served in their elegant courtyard ,was delicious and there is a rooftop terrace with spectacular views. If you cannot find parking they do have reserved spots, but we were always able to find parking and they will help you with your luggage to and from your car. This is a family run establishment that gets the best ratings.

When I travel I want new experiences and adventures. I think that is why we all travel. But if you want your trip to Crete to rise to a level you could not possibly have expected - then you want to stay at the Casa Delfino. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were surrounded by incomparable beauty and cared for by the most attentive, sweet, loving staff of any hotel we have ever stayed in and we stayed ten days. Margarita and her entire group not only met but anticipated every need. Nobody hovered. No one was intrusive. Walking in the door just always felt like walking into your home. That is if home is a stunning, gracious Venetian mansion. Breakfast was superb. And Chania and access to the old Venetian Harbour, magical. Just GO!

We stayed at the Casa Delfino Hotel in August 2023, and celebrated a milestone birthday whilst there. We could not have been happier with this stylish little boutique hotel. The rooms are very well appointed, well laid out, and the bed was super comfortable. Situated in a former Venetian mansion this is a very cool little hotel with a courtyard breakfast under a magnificent old tree, a roof-top bar with awesome views, and located in the heart of old town. The hotel staff booked a few restaurants on our behalf, and secured great tables each time. I highly recommend Casa Delfino and will definitely stay there on our return to Chania.
