I (middle-aged woman travelling solo) stayed here three nights in January. Hotel had a great location near the center and my room was clean, quiet and comfortable. They serve breakfast to you in your room! Friendly proprietors. If you can, I highly recommend taking bus into Siena (rather than train). Much more convenient - and about a 15 minute walk from hotel. Siena's bus station has great service to hill towns.

Spent 3 nights here. The room is old but clean and bathroom facilities ok. If you are after a basic facilities this is ok but nothing to write home about. Perhaps the only thing going for it is the proximity to the landmarks.

Stayed here for 5 days in February 2012- Great Place. Sure its not the Hilton but then I knew that. This place is clean, comfortable, warm, lots of hot water and a good sized room and bathroom, close to all the sights, 5 mins to walk to Piazza Gramschi (Bus Station) 2 mins to campo, 5 mins to the Duomo, 5 mins to the nearest gate to the walls, maybe 20 mins to the train station (outisde the walls), 5 mins to the supermarket. Vanessa, Roberto and Elena were wonderful and kept me plied with Hot water so i could drink the copious amounts of tea that i drink...........Not noisy at all but I asked for a room that was quiet. Yes, i could hear them in the breakfast room in the morning but that was 8am not 6am or anything hideous............All good- highly recommend. 5 Mins to Nannini and Grom as well...........what else could one ask for?
thanks again and I will be back.

This hotel refused to cancel my booking so I drove all the way to Siena; at which point they refused to let me in because they said the reception was closed (at 8.15pm) which is not something they had even previously specified. I expect they had simply decided the rent the room to someone else and keep my money. Then then ignored my messages, so I am now having to go book somewhere else with no prospect of a refund. The very worst face of Italian tourist industry: should not be allowed on international booking websites at all.

We were staying from the 20th sept and checked out on the 23rd. Room was clean, basic and acceptable. Good location, breakfast ok. Paid around $250 per night, certainly not worth it. Should be in the range of 100-125$ it would be a nice place .
Negatives: terrible and the rudest staff on the the 22nd sept which makes me write this negative feedback. We asked the office guy to help us with the locker as it got stuck and he did come and help us immediately but with lot of attitude and showing his dissatisfaction. We ignored it, ,my wife was not happy as he didn't even look back when we thanked him but we just wanted to ignore it. Next interaction was when I wanted to pay the taxes for the room. He then mentioned that we had to pay for the mini bar as we drank water. I politely told him that we were not aware there was a charge and there was no indications that there was a charge. The bottles were left on the side of the bed so we thought it was included with the room. He got angry with me as I refused to pay and he asked me if I thought Jesus came and left Water for us. I just lost it and we both went into a shouting match and my wife intervened and he started screaming at my wife that if we couldn't afford it he would let it go. I asked the guy to come and show us where it was written that we had to pay and offered him to check our room. I opened the door and he barged in checked the bar opend our closets without our permission and then accused us that we destroyed it. I can keep on going on but this unfortunate incident just destroyed our trip and the stay at the hotel. I asked for the owners name or the mangers contAct info but he refused.
I will probably stay away from this place if the manger the doesn't do anything about this incident. This is the first time I have written a review about a hotel but we are still very upset the way we were treated by the manger that day. Finally ok place with good location but the worst , arrogant and rudest service. The only reason the hotel has reservations because of the location but there are many places around I am sure with great manners and service

when I arrived, the receptionist, a very angry young man, basically barked at me. No help with the lugagge either..... the place is dark and ugly . The breakfast was terrible, the lady who served it appeared to also be in a bad mood, bed was hard,
The rooms are big, but that's about it. Would not recommend it to anyone, couldn't wait to leave, just a bad experience overall.

I would hate to rate a hotel "terrible" as there has to be something that makes it acceptable but I find it difficult in this case to find anything except the location. "200 yards to the main square" is pushing it somewhat whereas "a short distance away" would be more the truth.
It is true that the building is very old but the best has not been made of it. Basically I can say that I have never stayed in such a dark, dingy and depressing room in my life and I am a seasoned traveller. I was asked by friends afterwards if it was clean but, to be honest, it was so dark it was difficult to tell but the bed linen was most definitely clean and crisp.
The breakfast was distinctly average but not poor and a bonus was that it was on the premises as I didn't see places around that served breakfast as you do in other countries.
I would find it difficult to recommend this hotel.

Room was dark, poky and depressing but worst of all was the street noise making it impossible to sleep. The man on reception was unfriendly and unhelpful and refused to move me to another room. The en-suite was tiny with nowhere to put anything. Siena is a wonderful city but after 5 nights of no sleep I was happy to return home.

Dear Guest, You reserved a standard room at 32,00 euro per night (in an historycal building in the heart of the Medieval center of Siena!!) We have only 2 standard rooms in our Hotel and both of them are on the ground floor. This is why the price was so low None of our staff was unfriendly with you and nobody refused to change your room but the hotel was complete and we could not downgrade another guest in the standard room you booked. I know, however, that our staff was very accommodating and tried in all ways to be inclusive even by providing ear plugs. We are sorry for the noise discomfort, but honestly, from 8pm the street we are in, is absolutely silent, as we are in the pedestrian area and there are no bars or restaurants nearby Unfortunately sometimes it happens that to save a lot, you get less than you wish. It is the "law of the market" Regards

I booked two rooms in this hotel--one double bedroom and one single bedroom--for myself and a colleague of mine, for two nights to attend a business meeting. Our flight was canceled due to a air traffic control strike in Italy and we could not make it to Siena. I notified the hotel as soon as we were informed by our airline in the expectation that they would cancel the booking and waive the cancellation fee. No such luck! I enlisted my local business partner to explain the situation -- same harsh, unprofessional reaction. We paid 117 Euros for the "no-show." I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

We arrived in the very nice entrance lobby, and were met by the smiling young man on reception which was being decorated. That was the end of our pleasant experience. Our damp smelling room was shabby with broken tiles, dirt in the corners, scuffed and chipped paintwork, dangling tv wires, an electric socket that regularly fell off revealing the wiring. The bathroom was tiny, too small to put toiletries anywhere. We had to have the air con on all night to mask the street noise as we were at the front of the hotel, however our friends at the back had to put up with drunken shouting women. The staff were surly and bad tempered, particularly when asking for extra pillows. The wifi was limited and could not cope with more than one person per floor using it. Our so called safe was so small and light and portable we dared not leave anything in it. Breakfast included a bowl of tinned fruit cocktail - in Italy! The only good thing about the place was its location and the fact the sheets and towels were clean, but quite frankly it is not enough. Pay a bit more and stay anywhere else.
