This is an excellent boutique hotel with Italian charm. The hotel was very well maintained, English spoken everywhere, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom sufficiently large enough for us North Americans. The courtyard was fantastic. What a great spot to just chill. The courtyard was nicely light at night. The breakfast which was included in our fare was very good and you could sit outside in the courtyard or look out unto the courtyard. There was also some personal service during breakfast. As a tip, best that you take a taxi from the train station as it's too long a walk with luggage. The hotel is central so walking to all the sites are easy.

Stayed at the Monna Lisa for 4 nights and it was delightful. The staff were very welcoming whether at reception, in the restaurant, or at the bar. Our room, number 35, was excellent and all that we could have wished for. The hotel was in an excellent location for numerous restaurants and the many cultural highlights that Florence has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Mona Lisa offers nice rooms (albeit small by US Standards) in a peaceful charming setting , with comfortable beds and great working showers. The hotel is conveniently located within a short walk to the Duomo, Accademia and many fine restaurants. The hotel consists of 3 buildings situated around a garden. When you enter the Mona Lisa, you leave all the noise of the city behind as you enter a peaceful garden setting. The hotel's public areas are adorned with art. The staff is extremely friendly and will do whatever they can to be helpful. They have a nice breakfast with a variety of breads, pastries, fish, cheese, Italian meats, fresh fruits and cakes. Ramish took great care of us at breakfast over the four mornings we were there. Next time we make it back to Florence, we will return to the Hotel Mona Lisa. My only suggestion is to get a room with a terrace overlooking the garden.

Perfection. It's like the scene from the Wizard of Oz, where Dorothy enters the Land of Oz for the first time, except here you are exiting the cobblestone steps of Florence and entering a magical, colorful place with a fragrant garden where you can sip an expresso in the morning or a spritz in the afternoon, and adventures await you just outside the from door. The Hotel Monna Lisa has an amazing staff: Gabriel, Andreas, Laura, Erica, Francesco, Marco, Vincenzo . . . the list goes on. Unobtrusive turn down service while you're enjoying pasta or a bistecca Florentina on the town in the evening. A breakfast buffet that puts all others you've seen to shame. The superior room is spacious, the bathroom is perfect (water pressure and water temperature the acid test for me of all bathrooms) the linens and furnishings gorgeous. Location cannot be beat. You are 10-15 minutes FLAT walk to the Ufizzi, Galleria, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, etc and minutes away from restaurants that cater to your every culinary and gastronomic desire. I know I like to try different places whenever I visit, and this was my first time in Florence, but I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Let’s start with the positives. The garden is absolutely beautiful and is a great place to unwind after a long hot day exploring Florence. The breakfast is delicious with lots of variety. The bar and bartender were quite charming. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. It is steps from the city center, Duomo, botanical garden, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery and the Academie. Remember, you are staying in a palace from the 1500s, and our room (#19) didn’t appear to have been updated since then. It was dreadful. It was dark and the air conditioning was not sufficient. It would not cool the room to less than 24C. The furnishings were in poor repair and the bathroom was dank. To be clear, we chose it because it was historic and because of the garden. There’s a way to properly do historic 4 star hotels. This wasn’t it. We spoke to the manager who said that the hotel was due to be updated. Until then, I would avoid it. Such a shame because it has so much potential. After an update and new A/C, this will be a gem.

We loved this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, the garden was expansive and a wonderful place to relax with a drink in the evening. Ambience was of a stately home rather than hotel. Very extensive buffet breakfast available. Hotel located near the Duomo and we walked to all of the tourist attractions. Only time we used a taxi was from train station when we arrived and to the airport for departure. All staff at the front desk, breakfast, and bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were perfect and hotel location was close to Duomo di Firenze. Female working desk was very helpful when we checked in and again when we checked out. Bar was literally 12 steps from our door but was still quiet except when setting up for breakfast
