The ancient Glareys’ house stands in a quaint part of the incomparable valley of Courmayeur, at the foot of the Mont Blanc range. During the years, the building has been transformed from a traditional house - where our ancestors used to spend a simple and hard life - into a comfortable hotel. Hotel Des Glaciers has been run by the Pennard family since 1985 and it still maintains a traditional Aosta Valley atmosphere giving you an insight into the daily life of a by-gone age, from the XVII century to our days.Hotel Des Glaciers (altitude: 1.224 metres a.s.l.) is 250 metres far from the new Dolonne cable car (5 minutes on foot), 250 metres from the Forum Sport Centre and only 800 metres from Courmayeur city centre (10 minutes on foot). The picture windows of the restaurant look out over the Courmayeur valley, dominated by impressive peaks like Dente Del Gigante and Grandes Jorasses. Our Restaurant is also open to outside Guests. It provides half hoard (if requested, we offer lunch as well) with innovative recipes and the typical cuisine of the Aosta Valley. Our well-stocked wine cellar allows guests to choose from a selection of regional wines, perfectly matching with the meals. The breakfast buffet offers a wide choice of homemade cakes and biscuits, croissants, jams, yogurts, cereals, stewed fruit and juices.Hotel Des Glaciers has 17 rooms, all with en suite bathroom (with shower or bath) and equipped with telephone, colour LCD TV, mini bar, safe and hairdryer.A free wifi connection is available throughout the hotel.Hotel Des Glaciers offers its Guests: a bar; a nice garden with solarium and with a well-equipped play area for children where you can enjoy your time in a unique environment; free indoor and outdoor parking; a small museum gathering items collected by the owner’s father, ex alpine guide; a beautiful tavern decorated in a traditional alpine style with a fireplace and television where you can relax drinking a good hot chocolate, a tasteful cocktail or a “grolla dell’amicizia”.Thanks to its central location, all services are very close: the new cable car, the Fun Park, the slope taking back to Dolonne, the Forum Sport Centre, the “Courmaclub” disco and the sports shops. Hotel Des Glaciers is co-operating with Pré-Saint-Didier (6 km far from our Hotel) and Saint Vincent (60 km far from our Hotel) Spas in order to offer you hours of relax at a favourable rate.

This is a gem of a hotel. Family run. Extremely welcoming staff. Everyone was ‘fantastico’. I travel a lot and it does not get any better. My son and I booked in for a four day ski break in Courmayeur. This hotel is just outside the town in village of Dolonne. So quiet at night and only 200m from the gondolier ski lift. The owner gave great advice on getting ski passes and ski hire. Everything was really easy. The food was wonderful at the hotel - the husband is the chef and very good in the kitchen. Also for the price it represents outstanding value.

Very friendly family run hotel. Francesca and team were very welcoming, friendly and informative. Excellent location, 5 minutes from Dolonne gondola, and bus stops outside for easy access to Coumayeur and Skyway. Excellent food for breakfast and dinner.

Stayed for a week at the very end of the skiing season in March/ April 2023. Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the stay. The hospitality of the owners and the dinners with a view were definitely a highlight. The location is perfect as well - just a short walk from Dolonne. Will be back for sure! Thank you so very much! We really felt at home. Rare to find such a warm welcome.

Hotel des Glaciers is outstanding for many reasons: 1 - the staff are exceptional 2 - the location is ideal - in Dolonne across from Courmayeur - quiet yet convenient 3 - the hotel has a wonderful playground for children and grandchildren to play while parents / grandparents have an aperitivo 4 - the breakfast is perfect to start the day and is served in a room filled with windows to look at Courmayeur and the surrounding mountains 5 - if interested in hiking the Tour Mont Blanc, the hotel is on the TMB 6 - if interested in mountain biking it is easy to rent bikes nearby at 4810 rental (on Wednesdays the parking lot hosts a farmers market with other retail items for sale)

Good location and super friendly host (Francesca). Clean and comfortable rooms, a bit modest/rustic. Breakfast was good and included all the basics. For an extra charge you could order e.g. eggs in various forms. We had half board, so a three course dinner was included. The starters (pastas/soups) were generally well made and usually the best course of the dinner. The main course left us with mixed feelings... The dessert was pretty good.

This was our third year in a row staying at Hotel des Glaciers in Courmayeur. We also had friends from Paris and Southern Italy staying for their first time as part of the group. Great for families. All the kids hung out together and had a great time. As usual, Francesca and her team delivered an outstanding experience. Friendly, family-run, excellent service and food, nothing was too much trouble to ensure our stay was comfortable, memorable and fun. We've reserved our room again for February 2021.

This quaint and cozy little hotel is run by a family, the lady of the house takes care of the clients and her husband is the chef. They came to our rescue when we had serious problems with our first hotel and had to move here mid-holiday. The hotel is situated over the river on the Dolonne side, so it faces Courmayeur. Our room and the dining room face this magnificent view of Courmayeur. Inside, the property is adorned with old relics and antiques from the family history, which is cute. There is also a tavern downstairs and a little "museum" showing items belonging to the owner's grandfather who was an alpineer. The rooms were spotlessly clean and beds were comfortable although it could do with a bit of modernising. Good continental breakfast and if you choose the half-board option, good dinner as well! Really showcasing the local produce. The best thing about the hotel is the service they give to us. Francesca dealt with and took care of all our needs. We arrived in the morning and she kept our luggage while we went snowboarding. When we returned, they had put our luggage inside our room. She also helped me with booking the spa at Pre Saint-Didier (totally worth going), including all the information about the bus (it is actually very straight forward, but you do need to know the bus times), and gave the hotel discount code (I get about 10% off with the hotel code). Because I went to the spa, I would have missed the dinner, which I don't really mind, but Francesca insisted that she could do cold cuts and a slice of cake, and that she would deliver it to my room! We also checked out early the following morning at 6.30AM so she also brought breakfast (croissants, ham and cheese, yoghurt, coffee in a flask) along with dinner! Truly fantastic. It is only about 200m from the Dolonne gondola, and it is already situated "uphill" meaning when you walk from the hotel, you will arrive on level 6 (ticket office level) and a short staircase up to level 7 (the gondolas). In busy periods the lifts get very busy from Level 0-5 (car park) so it is very good that we don't need to deal with this traffic. It is a very enjoyable walk as well down a cobbledstone path surrounded by medieval buildings and church. Very beautiful.

10 mins walk from the village, pretty much hills. The hotel was nice and a bit old fashioned but that was only charming. The staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast very nice. Coffee was great. Free parking, and if you’re lucky you get a spot in the garage. We liked this hotel!!
