What a beautiful building. We booked the 2 apartments for our party of 4 adults and one child. The house is within a complex of several other houses, overlooking a central cobbled courtyard. There are many little alley ways, basements, gardens, bridges and balconies within view. From the upstairs apartment we had a breathtaking view of the mountains. Both the apartments were spotless and roomy. The kitchenettes were supplied with the basics but in Italy, you only have breakfast in your room! The beds were super comfy and large. Emilia, the host was so helpful. Our flight to Milan landed at 2300 hours and so we got a train to Saronno and were hoping to catch a bus to Como and then onto Bellagio, but at that time of night there was no service. We checked on a taxi price from the airport and were quoted 200 Euro. We thought this was expensive, so got the train to Saronno. There we were stranded. We contacted Emilia and she arranged for a taxi to pick us up there and bring us to the apartments. This cost us 150 Euro, so we should have just got the taxi from the airport! Bellagio itself is beautiful, but be prepared to do a lot of walking. Its about a 1km walk to the harbour and town centre. There are several lovely shops and restaurants. There is a bus service, but we didn't see any taxis to get back home (with 2 bad backs and a seven year old, we would have loved a taxi on a few occasions). The supermarket is about 50 metres away from the apartment and stocks everything you need, Emilia supplies washing up liquid, tea towels, dish cloths and hand soap as well as plenty of towels in the bathrooms. Going home, we got the ferry to Como - the fast one- then a taxi to the airport. Total cost for 5 of us, 200 Euro. Emilia's husband, Roberto, gave us a lift down to the ferry and we stored our luggage there, for free, til the 5pm ferry arrived, The only downside to the apartments was that there was no air conditioning, and Italy in August is hot! We had a couple of fantastic thunder storms too. We went to Bellagio for a wedding that was held at the Belvedere Hotel. There is a pool here, and as long as you buy from the bar, its for free, and they supply the towels too. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. I would definitely return to Relais Ai Campi. Booking was easy, and you pay cash on arrival. Be aware that there is a City Tax to be added on your arrival which is about 12 Euros a day.…
