The Grand Hotel Savoia garners praise for its grandeur and prime location, ideal for exploring Genoa on foot. Guests appreciate the hotel's elegant atmosphere and well-appointed rooms, which boast comfort and cleanliness. The comprehensive breakfast and decor also receive positive mentions. My husband and I stayed here for just one night last week, on our way from Cinque Terre to Milan (where we flew out the following day). The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the Piazza Principe train station and easy walking distance to all the main sights in Genoa. The day before we arrived, I emailed the hotel to let them know that we would be staying with them on my husband's birthday and asked if I could arrange to have a bottle of bubbles waiting for us when we arrived. They quickly responded that that would be no problem, and even gave it to us free of charge (which was completely unnecessary). I was so grateful for their attentiveness. We stayed in a basic room which was beautiful, spacious by Italian standards, and had a very comfortable bed. For

Great location (right next to the Principe train station), big rooms (by European standards), reasonable price, great breakfast buffet, excellent service. I loved my stay here. I will definitely stay here again for future visits.

We were really surprised and happy to be told that we were being upgraded to this hotel from their sister hotel which we had originally booked. If you are travelling by train, the train station is literally 2 minutes walk away, so it is perfectly situated. You can see the train station and bus terminus from the hotel windows. If you like new and modern, then this hotel is not for you, but if you like character and particularly art deco, this is perfect. Look out for the beautiful paining on the dining room ceiling at breakfast time!

We went to this hotel for a long weekend, was delighted with how easy it is to find from the station and how close it is to the town centre and harbour, about 15/20mins walk. Room was smaller than expected but beautifully turned out and immaculate. We did not eat in the resterant but used the bar on the roof several times, drinks are slightly more expensive than the town but was expecting this. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they sent someone immediately when we broke the safe and asked for tea bags. And the barmen are very attentive without being intrusive. There was a water shortage (burst water main) while we were there and the hotel did everything they could to try to minimise the disruption. All in all I would recommend this hotel as a base for a long weekend.

I visited Genoa for a long weekend and had picked this hotel online. It is a really good top notch hotel. The staff are very courteous and professional. Multilingual too. The whole hotel is very well appointed : nice marble reception area. Bedrooms and bathrooms clean and comfortable. I ate out a lot but when I did eat in, the food and restaurant service was exceptional. The hotel also has the advantage of being a comfortable walking distance from the touristy bits of Genoa, as well as only a 1 minute walk from both the railway station and the bus stop for the airport. Would I stay there again ? Yes.

I stopped at this hotel for a week while on business in the area. I was booked in to the hotel next door the continental but was moved over to this one as the other was full. When you first go through the main doors it's like stepping back in time. The old decor is amazing with marble, wood panelling everywhere. They have done a really good job at keeping the interior in the condition it's in. The room I was given was on the second floor, it was dark and a little small but as I was there for work and by myself it was OK. It was clean and in a good state of repair for such old decor. The window looked out into the centre of the hotel so had to keep the curtains closed so nobody seen me dancing to Taylor Swift in the mornings. The breakfast was €15 but it had a lot of choice.

From the location a block from the train station to check-in to the lobby to the splendid buffet breakfast to the rooftop terrace, Grand Hotel Savoia was a fantastic hotel. Our room was modestly sized but had an excellent bathroom. Free water was nice. An abundant breakfast buffet that would have cost $30 per person in the states--everything you could ask for and more. Great view from the rooftop terrace, where an evening drink was reasonably priced. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Genoa. The best hotel of our three-week stay.

The hotel is a grand old hotel near the main station. The hotel has a lot of character and is well appointed. We had a large executive room, which was clean and had good air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent. The roof top bar was great and the staff were attentive. We didn't use the Spa so can't comment. I'd like to thank the hotel for the surprise bottle of bubbly to celebrate my birthday. I can only assume you knew from my passport. It was a lovely treat. We had a great time in Genoa and a wonderful trip to Portofino, the Hotel Savoia was a great base throughout.
