We booked this hotel as a package through love holidays as a family weekend break with our older teenage children. The hotel is 30 mins from Ciampino airport not the stated 60 mins on the website-that’s as good as it gets I’m afraid! Staff extremely rude, inattentive and clearly not fans of the English clientele! Bathroom mouldy, shower tiny (supposed wet room), walls have scuff marks all over and have clearly not been painted for some time, only one pillow available and bed is a thin mattress on an MDF board. Downstairs rooms we stayed in had no terrace/balcony and next to restaurant which was separated by a piece of MDF (noise begins at 6am when they are setting up for breakfast and ends at midnight when what felt like the staff chose to have their catch ups outside the door of our room well passed midnight every night. Air conditioning controlled by the main reception which only works for 4 minute blasts, the weather was + 30 degrees for the duration of our stay and our room had no opening windows. Centre of Rome is not the stated short distance but is 30 mins in a taxi which costs 30 euros each way Bus stop is the other side of a dual carriageway and is around a 15 minute walk, you would then need to get to the metro and navigate that to get to the tourist destinations. The shop is not the stated 100m away and more like 1 mile along an extremely unsavoury area littered with what I will describe as used male contraception amongst lots of other rubbish! There is NO gym as stated, the staff were extremely rude when questioned on this fact! The pool opened on the second day of our visit and is very nice-when open! There is also a weird rule that to enter the pool you need to purchase a swimming cap from behind reception for 3 euro each! Bar not open until 6pm-that’s if the bar man decides to turn up and the reception staff refused to serve us until he did turn up at around 7pm, staff also note down against your room number what you have bought from the bar-bizarre! No fridge or tea and coffee making facilities in the room Breakfast is awful-a few pastries, some coffee and watered down juice Wi-Fi non existent, you can get some signal if you sit by the pool-which as I stated is not always open and locked with a bike lock. I might add that I’ve never ever complained about a hotel we have ever stayed in around the world but I would hate for another family/group to have the same experience as us. This is allegedly classed as a 4*, it is a 2* at a push! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!!!

This hotel claims to be 4 star ! It’s location is terrible. Well outside of Rome in the middle of nowhere. You’ll need to pay for taxis back and forth. The staff were terrible to deal with, not one of them helpful or even cracked a smile. We were charged 18 euros each for a “buffet” which consisted of two pots of cold pasta and bit of bread with cheese on it. The pool, sauna and gym which they supposedly have, were non existent. The beds were wooden boards with thin mats on top. The aircon is controlled by the reception area so we had no control when it was either too hot or too cold. Pillows were dreadful to sleep with. Dirty sheets. WiFi didn’t work. Avoid this place at all costs !!!!

I knew it wasn't going to be good when the taxi driver wouldn't even drop us off at the front door. Room wasn't ready but thats ok, we will have a coffee while we wait. Um no. Not offered and none was available for us. Room was ok. Dinner was 15 euros but wasn't worth a single euro. Really awful. Because its so far out of the city it cost quite a bit for a taxi to get us anywhere. Staff very very unhelpful. Breakfast was as bad as dinner, pure orange juice was watered down orange tinted something - lucky for some that they didn't get to try it as the machine broke down. Decided not to eat there the second night so took our lives into our hands to get to the supermarket which is close by. This was part of a package tour - why Globus uses this place is beyond me. All the other hotels they used as part of the tour were great - this was not a good start. Don't stay here. Seriously, just don't.

We visited early March 2020, this hotel was sold to us as part of a package deal with Love Holidays as a 4 * hotel The Hotel is nowhere near a 4* it’s pushing a 2* at best! It’s in an area which is far from nice, not safe to walk into the centre at all, it’s just off a busy dual carriageway so have to rely on transport, the reception staff are extremely rude, rooms are disgusting, we complained whilst we were there as the room was falling to pieces and staff were not interested at all, No tea/coffee asking facilities, food is awful, bar is hardly ever open. Steer clear at all costs !!!!

Hotel clean but very basic and a few kilometres from the centre. We booked this through itison as part of a Rugby package. In an earlier life the hotel may have been a boutique style but now is dingy and a great need of a refurb.

The Black Hotel is what it says. Corridors are painted black and the same theme continues in the reception and main eating areas of the hotel. Rooms are however painted in a lighter colour making this an attractive place to stay. We picked this as a budget hotel as part of a holiday package and certainly were not let down. Room was good as was the food. Staff were very helpful and we would certainly return to stay here again.

Don’t make our mistake and book here. It’s no-where near the centre of Rome. To get into the centre you have to cross over a filthy rubbish strewn bridge, take a bus (which is usually packed) then get the metro it takes about half an hour to over an hour depending on the time of day. The area does not feel safe especially in the dark when coming home. The hotel is not 4 star maybe once upon a time but now two star is generous. The female receptionists are very surly and need to up their game. The breakfast was good but AVOID the evening meal, 15 euros for an inedible buffet with no choice and lukewarm food that consisted of one pasta dish and one we weren’t sure what it was -some kind of polenta we think!and a few bits of salad. When we asked for more hot food we waited and eventually a plate of frozen potato wedges came out. The receptionist refused to believe the food wasn’t hot or freshly cooked when we complained. If you are unlucky enough to be at this hotel then go to either the pizza restaurant over the bridge or the Wild West pub just don’t eat in. The hotel was clean enough , the room we were in was small and very very basic, the bed was sloping into the roof so if you forgot and sat up you bumped your head . The shower had to be held as it would not sit on the wall making hair washing very tricky. The hotel was so far out you couldn’t just pop back to freshen up or chill before going out again in the evening which meant you were out for the whole day, no chilling and changing before going out for a meal ( hence why we tried the hotel for dinner). Please learn by our mistake and go elsewhere, there are so many better hotels in Rome.

The reception staff was so unfriendly that everybody should avoid this Hotel (Specially on oct 22 at 4pm) They almost ruined our vacatation. There is a lot of good options in Rome so stay away from this Hotel.
