This is not a hotel so do not expect hotel services. The location is perfect just a few minutes walk to the vatican. The breakfast is amply stocked with mediocre quality selections. My big beef with the place is that they insist you leave the room key at the reception. Then they take their time giving it to you when you get back. I was even berated publicly when i left the key in the wrong place. Like i said, don’t expect hotel service. These are holier than thou religious servants you are dealing with. I won’t be going back here.

This was my first time in Rome and alone. The people was so nice, they answer all of my questions. The brekfast was fine, The place was so close to the Vatican city and the center was quite far but you can see a lot of things by foot.

I chose the hotel for its special charm and good location. It turned out to be AC really good choice! It is situated very close to the Vatican and you can get to it from the airport by the SIT shuttle (route 700) which serves the area. It is also not very far from Rome's other attractions like the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. The monasteries past of the building is best appreciated in the breakfast room where a a good spread is served in action with charming arches and vaulted ceiling. Staff were friendly and helpful but in a business-like way. The other thing I liked very much were the rooms. Although not big, they were cheerful and bright, a stark contrast to most hotel rooms which are dimly lit. I really felt comfortable andat home in here.

We’ve stayed here twice- once on a group tour in 2009 (weeklong visit to Rome) and again for a one night stay before traveling north to Chianti in 2014. This is a former convent and it feels very wholesome. The accommodations are modest, but very clean and well maintained. Bath towels are very European (not plush), but sufficient. The breakfast is also European with no eggs; however, you won’t go hungry! The hotel’s best kept secret is the rooftop garden, where we enjoyed a bottle of wine and the amazing views of the Vatican and Rome before heading to dinner! On our first trip, our group watched fireworks from this location. An excellent price for a very simple, yet lovely hotel.

The hotel is very clean and good location to visit Vatican. Bus routes 40/62 to Roma central are close by. Wonderful buffet and lovely cafeteria hall! The roof garden view is unforgettable. The hotel even prepared the packaged breakfast for us to catch the early flight! 😊
