Just off lively Plaza Santa Ana Square, this guesthouse features free Wi-Fi and functional rooms with private bathrooms and plasma-screen TVs. Puerta del Sol is just 330 yards away. Each room at Hostal Prado features simple, modern décor and tile floors. All rooms include air conditioning, heating and a safe. A wide range of bars and restaurants can be found in the streets around Hostal Prado. Just a 10 minute walk away, the La Latina district is known for its tapas bars. Hostal Prado is also less than a 15 minute walk from the Prado and Reina Sofia Art Museums and El Retiro Park. Nearby Puerta del Sol Station offers Metro and local train services.
Great location! Check in time 3pm. Front desk worker very rude. No eye contact. Check in at another location. The actual location has no elevator. Hostal Prado on the third floor. Stairs are rustic wood and uneven which makes it awkward to go up and down with bags. Room and bathroom modern and clean. Maid very nice and pleasant. Place quiet at night. At check out you can let the maid know and leave the keys in the room avoiding to go to the other location for a drop off. Sometimes the location and place are nice but the staff makes a big difference. In this place the front desk person doesn't make the welcoming positively memorable for the international travelers.

We got to Madrid-Barajas around 7:00am. We got to the address of the hostal, at 8:00, tired, without sleep and with 2 suitcases and 2 backpacks. It turned out that we had to go to another address to do the check in. I believe his name was Antonio, not sure, but he didn’t look at us and even though we had an email stating that they would accommodate us , he refused, saying that we had to wait until 2:00pm that was the check in time. He said that he worked there for 11 years and that never had they said they would accommodate anyone. We showed him the email, and the story changed. Now it was that the hotel was full and the cleaning ladies nor the clean sheets had arrived. Around 11:00 we decided to sit and wait in front of him, since we couldn’t walk around anymore carrying our luggage. We saw the ladies come and the clean laundry. Around 12 he finally gave us the room. To our surprise, the hostal was in the 3rd floor, no elevator and the stairs uneven and old. It got worse when we got to our room, turn on the ac and when it didn’t work, we called Antonio and he said that it was still cold (75* ) and that the lady in the room next door just called to say it was freezing in her room. I guess he realized that we were aware of how to write reviews that he later called and send us a small fan. Then the next day, we ask the cleaning lady ( very sweet girl ) to change the towels and she said that she couldn’t, that they change them every 2 days. Location was great. And the room was clean and the beds ok. Thats why I gave them 2 stars. BUT NEVER AGAIN …

Ignore the title! Only a bit of a joke however my partner and I both cut our fingers on the sharp bathroom door which lead to constant bleeding for 20 minutes. That’s our first issue with place. However, the rooms our lovely and just about spacious enough, beds are cleaned and made daily and the room is kept tidy by the cleaners who we never actually got to thank. We brought our own speaker and played some music, no complaints from other guests so the walls must be quite thick. The TV only has Spanish channels which doesn’t really make sense considering that we are English but we enjoyed giggling to some ‘Los Simpsons’! Our second issue is the way it looks from the outside. We were nervous when we pulled up but that’s fine because inside it’s beautiful. Anyway, my partner and I really enjoyed our stay and we felt three stars was generous - the lack of communication you get from the rooms to the reception is in admirable but nevertheless a great stay for the weekend (no longer though). …

The best location! In the heart of Madrid! Amazing value for the price! Very clean, rooms were cleaned every day. You must be careful with the steps in the building they are dangerous, it's not Hostal's fault tho, the owner of the building need to fix it. Loved the time I've spend in this place. If I ever come back to Madrid Hostal Prado is my only option to stay. Thank you.

Hostal Prado is just a few minutes from Sol station. It's right in the middle of shops and restaurants. The area can be quite loud at night, so might be better to be with friends. Unfortunately, there isn't a lift in the building, so make sure you can carry your luggage up the stairs.

Stayed in a triple room. The photos of the rooms on TripAdvisor are accurate. The room was very clean and were cleaned daily. Contrary to other reviews on here, towels are included and changed if you request it. The hostal is just a few minutes walk from Plaza Del Sol in the centre of the city and there are a variety of tapas bars and clubs within a 5 minute walking radius. You have to check in at the hostal marlesco which is a short walk in the next street. We checked in late. The check in was open 24 hours and the security guard was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The only negative is that the hostal is in a building with other organisations. The stairs on this building are not in a good state of repair and are very uneven, so you should be careful when using them. This is not the hostels fault however and is the fault of the buildings landlord which is why I didn't mark them As for some of the other reviews comments about noise - there are one or two bars by the hostal. The noise isn't too bad though and it didn't stop me getting to sleep I will definitely stay here again when I return to Madrid. …

We would definitely stay here again, rooms are modern and clean. Bars and restaurants just around the corner. Puerta del sol, plaza mayor and the gran via are all walkable from here. It doesn't take long to check in at the marlasca.

We enjoyed staying at Prado hostel. Good beds, clean room, very good location, friendly and adequate receptionist at marlasca hotel. Rooms are not soundproof, we could hear everything in the corridor and the next door rooms.
