A fabulous, family run hotel in the heart of the old and very beautiful city of Girona. The original building has been tastefully refurbished whilst retaining much of the original architecture within both the hotel and the rooms. We stayed there on 2 separate occasions during our trip and on both occasions the rooms were of a very high standard. Buffet breakfast is served in the morning with a wide range of items to choose from. The owners are very attentive to your needs, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our luggage was lost by our airline and was due to be delivered to the hotel just after we checked out to go on a 4 day cycling trip. The owners said not to worry, they would receive our luggage, put it away somewhere safe and it would be there for us when we returned. Girona itself is a very popular cycling destination and if you are thinking of bringing a bike or renting one not to worry, the Historic has a safe place where you can store them when you are not out cycling. Also if you're fan of Game of Thrones the hotel is a stones throw away from many of the major filming locations. We stayed in 8 different hotels on this trip through Spain and the Historic was our favorite, we would definitely visit again.

Booked the romantic suite and was impressed from the outset. Set in the old town of Girona and surrounded by equally impressive buildings. In the higher part of town so there are lots of steps to deal with to get out and about. Hotel has a great feel to it very clean and trendy. Great staff on reception who made sure we had a pleasant stay. Only down side was the breakfast which was a bit hit and miss.

Beautifully restored historic building in the heart of the old city with just a few hotel rooms. This is a family run place and tended to with great kindness. Our room was small but comfortable. We enjoyed the communal terrace for a glass of wine before going out to dinner with views of the illuminated church bell tower. We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

Complete remodel, very stylish and high end fixtures. Large bath, no stand up shower, just tub. Nice subdued lighting. No safe in room. Balcony not really useable. Large room, but lots of wasted space. No coffee in room. Was at the top of the hill next to the church. A bit of a hike up and down into town, and the church bells go off every 15min. 24/7.

Fabulous location in the old city by the cathedral. Great value. Clean. Adequate amenities. Would definitely come again. For a short stay it was perfect however lacked a few of the comforts that often make a difference. For example, no tea and coffee making facilities (but when asked have us a kettle), no bottled water in room. However proprietor was helpful.

A beautiful building in prime position in the heart of old Girona. The building has been tastefully renovated and decorated. The manager gave us information on Girona on arrival. However… this is not a four star hotel. There wasn’t even water left in the rooms for guests, which is a basic especially in this heat! We were waved in the direction of a vending machine by the lift for water, Coke or beer- not impressed. The room only had a shower attachment over a small bath, no stand up shower. Plastic glasses in the bathroom. The fridge was old and stained. The bed was rickety and squeaky. The electronic door keys only work intermittently. There was nobody there on morning checkout so we made our own arrangements for transport. A few thoughtful attentions to detail would make all the difference to this hotel. It’s good to support a family business but at this price, staff could be hired to man the reception more frequently and more welcoming details could be invested in at little cost. Just because you are in prime position in a tourist area, doesn’t mean you should shirk the detail.

The rooms were clean and fantastically well kept. The bed was comfortable, the shower relaxing and the air con very easy to use. We can’t wait for our next visit!

A beautiful, sensitively restored historic and family run hotel in the old part of town close to the cathedral, with steps and alleyways leading to cafes and restaurants. We had a lovely clean and spacious first floor room with ensuite bathroom and comfortable beds. There was an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit, cereals and eggs cooked to order in the vaulted dining room. There is a great view of the cathedral and the rooftops from the top floor roof terrace, particularly at night. We cycled from Girona and were given secure storage for our bikes in the lobby. We had problems sleeping the first night due to a street light opposite our window. There were no curtains, just a thin external wooden blind that let the light through. After we reported this, the owners were really helpful and temporarily blacked out the windows on the second night, so we had a great night's sleep. Thanks guys and maybe invest in some curtains or internal blinds going forward. We have stayed here before, several years ago and liked it even more second time around, particularly being so convenient for the city sights.

Room Tip: Girona has a lot of steps and narrow alleyways, so you need to be reasonably fit.

A lovely gem of a hotel in the old town of Girona. Luxurious and peaceful accommodation, perfectly located for all the historic sites and near good restaurants. The town is a travellers dream with a great mix of history, cuisine and shopping.

This family run hotel is lovely and just around the corner from the cathedral. It's been beautifully renovated in stone. Our room was gorgeous and we had a superb nights sleep. They provide secure bike storage too. Just a perfect place to stay and explore Girona.
