We loved staying at City Oasis. Each room has a different theme - ours was called the Karl May room. Karl May was a German writer of adventure stories and this small suite was a mixture of western and with elements of colonial style. The hospitality and friendliness of the hosts, their sense of the aesthetic and the location made for a memorable stay. For those who prefer more of a personal experience as opposed to the anonymity of larger places, this is highly recommendable.

The perfect place during our stay in Dresden. About a 10 minute walk from the Dresden Neustadt train station. Located in a safe area of the Neustadt part of Dresden, off a main boulevard....but within 5 minutes, you are well into great neighborhoods of New Dresden. What is more, it is within 10 minutes of the bridge that you walk over to Altstadt, and the views from there are just stunning. The owner, Enrico, is someone who has clearly found his calling---he loves what he does, loves to greet and take care of his guests, and is rightfully proud of his place and his city. One morning, we had the breakfast---you do need to advise him in advance, and the reason is that he personally prepares it for you and it is spread out and ready for you in the morning: beautiful spread of fruits, cheeses, eggs, and so on. Pricing very reasonable. We paid cash.…

I loved staying at City-Oase. It is easy to access (quick walk) from the Dresden Neustadt train station. Enrico the owner is lovely and so helpful. You can tell he adores what he does. He'll share more information about Dresden then you'll ever be able to digest. Each of his rooms is decorated differently. And he & his wife are artists and have done much of the work themselves. We had the angel-Palace room. It was lovely. Lots of hot water for taking good showers. Enrico also prepares an awesome breakfast for 8 Euro. It is a typical German/European breakfast with cheeses, meats, coffee, rolls etc - and the way he presents it with lovely china and flowers - it is a big treat! Make sure you have breakfast with him at least once during your stay. Wonderful bedding - feather comforters. He also has a nice garden area you can enjoy. TV in the room. Complimentary Wi-fi. I really loved staying here!…

Pluses-- --Really nice hosts. --Non--touristy area. --Scenic route to the Altstadt, by the Elbe river. Very photo worthy. --Eight minute walk to the Neustadt train station. Maybe 4 minutes to a tram stop. --Beautifully decorated rooms. Ours was the Karl May theme (Cowboys and Indians), a two room suite, with good sized bathroom. --This room was 85 euros. Minuses -- Payment by cash. Enrico wants money up front, because too many back out of commitments to him. I just sent him a check, which he held; my bank charges too much for wiring money, as he requests. -- While scenic, it'll take 20 minutes to cross the Augustus bridge to the Altstadt. The last half of it is not lit at night. -- While the neighborhood is not dangerous, it is isolated, in a block with apartments and a hostel, with busy elevated bridges on one side and a small factory on the other. While breakfast here is a bit pricey, you have no nearby options. -- Info in room is all in German, without wifi password. -- Proprietors are not always around. Without functioning cell phones, it is difficult to contact them. This may impact a getaway day, as bags may not be laid over into the afternoon at your convenience. Pluses outweigh minuses, to my mind.…

We arrived here late at night after travelling for over 20 hours. First impressions weren't that great because the area is slightly off the main area and a bit dark and uninviting. However that changes the moment you meet Enrico and experience his warm hospitality and genuine friendliness and helpfulness. And his wife Renate is equally wonderful. Everything you read in the other reviews is accurate. Great place, great hosts, wonderful breakfast and reasonable price. There is a reason it is rated the no.1 B&b in Dresden. There are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity bit a 10 minute walk to Konigstrasse will put you into an area of numerous excellent and reasonably priced restaurants. If we were to return to Dresden I would stay here again. Thank you Enrico and Renate.

I stayed at the City-Oase last week and really enjoyed the accommodation. The decor of the room was stunning and it appeared the bathroom was recently renovated. The owner Enrico was very helpful before and during the stay. The accommodation is a 15 min walk to old town (along the Elbe river - very beautiful walk!) and 10-15 min walk to new town. The breakfast was very delicious and worthwhile. The ONLY downside was the lack of air conditioning during hot days though this is common in Germany. I would stay again.

We wanted two nights in a hotel close to the central sights with easy parking and City-Oase perfectly met our requirements in terms of access to both the 'new' and 'old' towns. We split our time walking in both parts and the hotel was perfectly located for doing this. The rooms are all 'themed' with their own private bathrooms, if not 'en-suite'. We were there in a bit of a heatwave (35C) and the rooms are not air-conditioned so the windows remained open all night which was fine because its a quiet neighbourhood. The owner was particularly friendly and helpful!

The location of this inn is perfect -- it is five minutes from Dresden's Neustadt train station; a lovely 15-20 minute stroll into the old town through a riverside park with magnificent views; an easy walk in the opposite direction towards the more bohemian nightlife in the Neustadt. Our room, dedicated for the 18th c. writer Schiller, was tastefully decorated, spotless, and comfortable. The bathroom looked to have been newly renovated. Linens and towels were of high quality. The breakfast, at an additional price, is absolutely worth taking. We were offered a spread of fine cheeses, charcuterie, various breads and jams, yogurt with fruit, and crudités. Everything was fresh and of high quality. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Should we ever go back to Dresden, we know exactly where to stay!…

We so enjoyed our visit here. Everything was perfect. The neighborhood will catch you off guard at first but is not only perfectly safe but much in line with other less touristed neighborhoods in Dresdan. Also, it is only a short walk from beautiful Dresdan along the river. Try to spend two full days to fully explore the city. Lastly we were able to easily get to Coty-Oase on foot from the Dresdan-Neustadt station.

We loved our three nights at City-Oase. Enrico was a perfect host, speaks English, is friendly, and helpful. The location, although appearing a bit rough at first, is perfectly safe and wonderfully located for a beautiful river walk to the old town, about 15-20 minutes away. We stayed in the immaculately clean and colorful Turkish-themed Yenidze Room. King bed and chairs were comfortable and bathroom is spacious. Windows open to a pretty courtyard so we were happy to leave them open at night. Breakfast is E8 pp extra but very nice.
