It was my stay at Berlin. I was going by car from Liberec, Czech Republic, so i was very tired, so i was expecting a good stay in the hotel. But when i saw the room, it was appaling and revolting in every way. The TV was very small, there is a small shower in the room, and there were barely any light! The water was less, it took me 30 minutes to set the water hot, and when it was scorching hot, it took me another 30 minutes to cool it down. The wifi barely works. It was not even. After 6 o'clock, the internet got slower and slower and slower. After about 6 minutes, you will have to reconnect the wifi. Overall, this hotel is not worth a stay and the worst hotel i ever stayed.

We were woken at 5:45am on the third or fourth day by maintenance men trying to find a water leak coming through the ceiling of the upmarket tapas bar below us. They couldn't find it, but two days later they moved our granddaughter out of her room to another up the corridor, then two days after that we came back to find a notice on our door to say we'd been moved to another room too. This room, like our granddaughter's new one was very cold until I turned the radiators up; I'd have thought the hotel would have done that already. Also, the toilet/bathroom smelled horribly until I'd flushed the lavatory many times and run the taps and shower a lot. The lavatory uses a pump/macerator system, something I thought only existed on Greek islands, not in Central Europe. No apology was forthcoming over the inconvenience of it all. Breakfast is still OK, although a bit of a bunfight at times, and the location is good. The electrics and plumbing really need a complete overhaul, and the electric sockets seem to me frankly unsafe in the bathroom, as my picture shows. The wi-fi worked in our old rooms, but not the new ones. Sheets, pillowcases and towels are changed every day. It is a very quiet hotel in a quiet street, but I did hear that some 50 teenagers had been staying there a few weeks prior to our visit, so goodness' knows what that was like. Overall, I was rather dismayed at the overall state of the place, with its shabby carpets, unmatched and feeble lightbulbs and dismal decoration. Whoever owns it must surely be making enough money to give it a proper renovation to bring it at least into the noughties, let alone 2017.

I stayed there for 5 nights in the private room with shower and basin (shared wc). I liked everything. the price/quaity ratio is very good. Perfect location, comfortable room, a good variety at breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Easily reachable from the airport, train staions, metro stops. There are 3 metro stops nearby, all of them are 5-7 minutes away. I would stay there if I go to Berlin again :)

We stayed here whilst inter railing and needed somewhere to just sleep! The hotel was relatively easy to find and the main attractions were easily reached via the U bahn. The stay included a nice breakfast in the morning. The room was very basic with a shower in the bedroom, but it was fine for us

Went to Berlin woth my wife and 3 children (age 7, 8, 11) and stayed in a five-bed room woth shower. Payed EUR 95 per night incl. Breakfast. I find this cheap. So if you are looking for a clean place with your own shower in Berlin, it is recomme dable. Don't expect nothing more than this. If you are looking for anything out of the ordinary - don't stay here. Perfect location for exploring the city on foot.

This place is perfect if you want to spend more than a couple of days in Berlin but don't want to spend €100 per night. It is right in the heart of Charlottenburg so very close to Ku'Dam shops, Savignyplatz restaurants, the Zoo etc. If bussing from the airport it is a couple of minutes from the airport bus-stop. Although it is a good ten minutes' walk to nearby U-Bahn/S-bahn stations, there is a choice of several different lines within this radius so you can go in lots of different directions. So it is above all extremely central, and in the midst of decent eateries, supermarkets, etc. True it is an old building, general appearance dated and faded, in need of renovations, but for the price you really cannot complain, just spend the extra time enjoying more of Berlin. Staff is helpful at all times and the breakfast is really quite OK, as is the wifi.

When it says that the room has a shower, you do not expect to find the shower in the room it self. This is a worn down Pension and I will not stay here again. The beds are among the worst beds that i have not slept in. Basic breakfast Good location

The hotel is located in an appealing and convenient neighborhood. We were assigned a spacious room with big windows overlooking the street, and a clean bathroom. The decor of our room was not particularly appealing but the beds were comfortable and clean. The building did not look like a hotel: the reception was on one of the top floors, our room seemed to be one of the bedrooms of a big apartment where there were other bedrooms occupied by different guests, and a few rooms shared a common area. One bad point: once you opened the door to get into this common area, which was completely dark, you had to move on to your own room door in the dark for some seconds before the sensor would activate and light would turn on. The hotel staff seemed a bit indifferent and distant. However, the hotel fulfilled all our needs: great location, good breakfast, clean sheets and good price. It was a very convenient choice.

Stayed early June for 3 nights. Arrived Shoenefeld/Brandeburg, took the S-Bahn to Ostkreuz and then changed for Savignyplatz. It is much nearer Tegel. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the nearest U-Bahn and S-Bahn but the walk is through a pleasant neighbourhood in which you can easily find good and reasonably priced bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The heating was working and effective. There is a lift to all floors. The breakfast is good. The facilities all worked. The rooms are a little strange; the hotel is obviously converted from an older building and the decoration could do with a professional make-over but then, as I see it, 90% of your hotel time is asleep and in the dark. One omission in my room was a wardrobe! Instead there were 2 x 2 drawer units. The staff were fine but a little distant - I asked for a couple of things and they appeared, so no complaints at all. This is a small hotel/pension without pretensions; the price is right and it has everything you want: I rarely take advantage of swimming pools or shops or even a hotel restaurant and I resent paying for them - the Insel Rugen has none of these but it does the job. (Someone, earlier wrote about the wifi connection; it was fine for me.)
