FABULOUS! Everything about our visit to the Charleston Hotel was fabulous! From the moment we entered the front door we were treated warmly and professionally by the entire staff. Our room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and quiet. Staff recommended a wonderful dinner house a short walk away. We don’t normally purchase the hotel breakfast - but we’re so glad that we did! The wide variety of breakfast items were all fresh and delicious! A fabulous finish to a lovely stay! We’ll definitely return!
Merci Hotel Charleston!

A perfect place to stay for Le Mans. Nice comfortable room, small but perfectly equipped. Comfortable bed. Coffee and tea in room. Perfectly clean. Good bathroom with strong shower. Nice view to courtyard our side of hotel. Ten minute walk or three minute tram to the old centre of the city. Lovely helpful staff.

Lovely family owned and run hotel. Fantastic coffee machine @breakfast. Most any kind of coffee you want, fresh beans, better than Starbucks.
Good air conditioning. Very quiet. Blackout blinds. Parking underground. Superb staff, excellent English spoken as well.

Came back to hotel in the evening after a long hot day out to find my room had been let to somebody else, despite the fact I had a confirmed booking. All my possessions had been removed from the room and piled on the dirty floor behind the reception (see photo) If there was a problem, why did the hotel not try to contact me or my booking agent when they had both our mobile numbers? The hotel had clearly made a mistake with the booking but were very unhelpful. They said the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do. They offered me no help or compensation and gave no apology for their double booking. Fortunately, my agent was able to find me a room in another hotel at great inconvenience to us both. On another note, the car park is totally unsuitable for modern cars and sports cars as room is very tight especially when car park is busy. And, the towels smell of cigarette smoke!

This hotel was an unexpectedly enjoyable find.

We stayed here with 2 teenage boys on the way through France as a one night stop over and to visit the motor museum. The hotel being near the railway station we didn't have high expectations to be honest.

But it's a bit of a gem. As others have said, very clean, very friendly, very efficient. The courtyard was lovely to relax in and we had an excellent bathroom/shower, very comfy bed. And probably the best continental breakfast we've ever had - quality food and plenty of variety.

Other than the race track/museum, we hadn't done our homework on LeMans. But on arrival the helpful receptionist encouraged us to walk into the old town for dinner and there's plenty of restaurant choice. But the surprise in the old town was the stunning architecture, we had no idea it was so beautiful - definitely make the time for a walk round if you go.

If you book this hotel and ask for a parking space in their private underground car park - just one word of warning - we were driving a Volvo estate with a top box fitted, and only just squeezed under the roof down to the car park

Clean and quiet, friendly helpful staff. There’s a reasonable courtyard to sit out in, drinks from the bar. Don’t think they do evening meals. It’s about 15min. walk to town centre bars etc. Room and bathroom fine, beds very comfortable. Garage entrance is steep and narrow. No traffic noise. Breakfast looked nice though we went out for that. Decent standard for 3*

Stayed here for one night whilst driving through France. Petit hotel, clean throughout, nicely refurbished rooms with free wifi. Nice little internal courtyard for sitting out in the evening. Buffet breakfast was €9 per head which I thought was reasonable standard. It has some underground secure parking for €7 euros. Location is ok, few hundred metres from the train station. If I happen to be passing through Le Mans again then i'd probably consider staying again.

Whilst a 2 star hotel in the middle of Le Mans / this hotel offers far higher quality than this rating. Comfy clean rooms, nice terrace, good breakfast, garage and friendly staff. Just good value even in the height of summer.

Needed a hotel with secure parking and Le Charleston has, underground, below the building. Space for about 9-10 cars.Tight getting in or out but not hard, even in a low-slung sports car. But that was not the only attraction to the place. Superb value for money given the location, halfway between the main station and the centre of the shopping district of the town. Easy 12 - 15 min walk to old town which is lovely, with lots of places to eat. And if too far to walk then hotel is 200m from the nearest new tram stop. Trams cost 1.5 euro (buy tickets at the machine at the stop not on board) and it is 4 stops to the old town. Hotel is not big - the bedrooms and ok, but you will struggle for space if you arrive with lots of bags etc. Whole place is done up in same style, probably quite recently, and is still smart. En-suite shower was good and clean. Daytime staff were lovely but gentleman on reception on arrival could learn to be happy at his work! He was helpful and informative (for example, how to use the tram) but he could provide a cheerier welcome.
