Hotel oceanic is all about customer service. They are eager to assist with any need that you may encounter. We arrived early in Paris (about 8:00am.) and we knew that check in was not until the afternoon. But the receptionist Segolene was ready to make us feel welcomed. She took our suitcases right away and storage them for us and told us that they were cleaning our rooms and as soon as they were ready she would allowed us to stay even if there was not yet the time to check in. Two hours later we got our rooms and we were ready to get some rest. Segolene advised us about taxis and she reserved our taxi to go back to the airport. The other receptionists that we came in contact with like Oksana and the other men were always polite and always ready to help. They really make you feel welcome. The hotel is near restaurants and places where you can buy water, soft drinks and snacks. We arrived late from our tours at the hotel and many of the restaurants were closed after 11:00 pm. But Burger king and MacDonald's were within a walking distance. If you are a parent you know children crave those fast food places even if that is in another country and also those were the only places open so there was no other choice. The hotel is old but it has all you need. The cleaning ladies did and excellent job every morning and our rooms were clean and stocked with bottle water every day. The breakfast buffet is great, it has something for everybody and the lady in charge of that area always kept on bringing more fruit or juice or ham or cheese. She was very kind and polite. The breakfast was a big money saver since we were a family of five and we did not have to pay since it was included. If I have to go back to Paris; I will come back to this hotel for sure.

Nice hotel located in the area of Saint-Lazare, Louvre museum can be reached within 25-30 minutes of walk. Our family room was quite spacious, very clean, with a nice balcony. Some details in the bathroom could be improved: for example, the rubber strip on the bathtub's door could be replaced or some painting on the door can be done. Breakfast is OK, unfortunately it is always the same every day. Personnel is very kind and most of them speak English. Recommended to families.

The location is simply perfect, it was extremely easy to move around and visit the city. The rooms were very clean and spacious, even though some more maintenance is required. Staff was friendly and helpful. 4/5 only because the sound proofing of the rooms could be improved. Overall very nice experience.

Rooms are cleanly kept, carpets on the small hallway need replacing or at least cleaning Breakfast is poor! Bathroom/Shower cant fit one person I didnt understand why you have to leave the keys at reception each time you go out, felt i need to report my movements Staff don't keep promises my TV didnt play for day 3 days of 4 I was booked in there even after reporting it. I was also not accomodated when i requested late check out as my flight was at 21:30

Positives: they have an iron and a small ironing board in the rooms but no bar fridge. Its an ok place to sleep and go about during the day. Good aircon and good warm shower. The noise from the closeby train station can be heard in the rooms as the trains move underground. The wooden floors are a nightmare as you can hear every penny dropping in the next rooms.

We showed up in the hotel. We were asked about additional payment for children. Although we booked a family room 2 adults and 3 kids on priceline. We were told it is a family room only for 2 adults. From the start we were treated like liars by the hotel stuff. They couldn't care less as the booking was not refundable. We didn't stay in the hotel. Priceline sent us to Booking CS (sister company) who made a request to the hotel to get money back. That was last Sunday. We didn't hear anything back since then. We wasted lots of time that day, only day we had in Paris, we were all upset . You can not put any money on this. We didn't stay in the hotel. We didn't want to waste more of time and we got a room in the hotel on the same street. Today we learned after 5 days of submitting a request via booking, we won't get refunded. We also found out Priceline website has an issue. You book for 2+3 kids, but you get confirmation for 2 adults. Where on booking price is much higher. TBC

Cordialement

Worst hotel ive stayed in

Not only management won’t allow my friend to stay with me in the room
They force me to get and pay another room for her !
I booked my room 6 month and pay prior to my arrival
At my surprise they charge me extra new taxes for 2024 ever single day

Beds were extremely uncomfortable and there pillow are worst !
I woke up every day with painful neck

Staff and manager didn’t care when I complained.

I could go on and on but the worst of all happened when the 5th day I woke up early to have breakfast and RAT crossed me and I screamed and yelled out loud and no one care

Do not stay in this awful hotel

Nice, family friendly hotel in an excellent location.

Clean, well appointed rooms, pleasant breakfast room with well stocked continental breakfast buffet.

Excellent location just a minutes walk from the Gare St Lazare, with plenty of dining options nearby to suit all budgets.

Family of 4, including 2 teenage girls. Our second stay here. Was here for 4 nights and we all agree this is our "go to" hotel for Paris. Reasonably priced for such a big room in Paris. The room is big too and good sized bathroom. Clean, plenty of towels. Great front desk people. One particularly stands out. I think her name was Oksana...or something like that. Blond and so, so helpful and friendly.

Great location for all kinds of shopping, culture and transport. Don't hesitate to stay here and we find it plenty central for all the sites.

I stayed in this small but comfortable Hotel Oceanic in the 8th arrondisement Paris. The Hotel is over 100 years old but the service was great. The desk clerk spoke good english and was also helpful in arranging airport transfers and laundry (we got a load of laundry done for 7 euros). The breakfasts were 5 euros and were substantial - cafe au lait/chocolate/tea, croissant and plain baguette. They have fax facilities there and a 24 hour reception. It is located within walking distance of the department stores and a metro is 100 metres away. The rooms start from 75 euros p/n (double) and they can accommodate families as well. We stayed in a room with two double beds and a single bed for 95 euros p/n. Our room was very large by Paris standards and extremely clean. We also had a separate bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is also a lift. Well worth it and certaintly made our Paris stay more enjoyable. Their website is at h--------------

A "real" Parisian hotel, had a lovely weekend here in a family room for our family of 5. Big king size bed and three singles, huge bathroom and yes the room had a certain shabby chic about it, but the "feeling" of the hotel was really good - excellent, knowledgeable and really friendly staff. Especially Hector on the front desk over the night shift - use his knowledge of the locality - spot on recommendations.

This hotel is so close to Saint Lazare station - dead easy from there to CDG airport - close to Paris Opera for the Rouissy Bus which is direct from CDG. Got the Rouissy bus into the city from CDG and the Saint Lazare metro 14 then TGV from Chatelet going back to CDG.

Also within walking distance of the Champs Elysees - overall really great location. Loads of really superb restaurants locally as well ( for you Anglophiles M&S Food outlet virtually opposite! ).

If you are going before Christmas make sure you visit the Christmas market on the Champs Elysees - loads of variety, some gimmicky but mostly authentic - food area of market astonishing for the variety on offer - MOST champagne bar superb as well!

Finally went out to Colombes to see Northampton Saints get spanked by Racing 92, whilst that was painful the Racing fans were a delight and so friendly - as we're all the Parisians we met. Paris has been hit hard recently, but is still colourful, vibrant and a real experience - go enjoy you will not be disappointed!
