This is a luxurious family orientated 5 bedroomed bungalow situated at the gateway to the Gap of Dunloe (a glaciated valley). We are Bord Failte approved and a non smoking home. Our rates include varied breakfast menu, private car park, outdoor picnic area, hair dryers, irons/ironing boards, under floor heating and TV & wireless free broadband. Supermarket, grocery shop, post office are within 1 km away and our local taxi service is just a phone call away. This family run business is owned by John & Nora Ferris and their 3 teenage children. We have a great interest is music and enjoy a sing song by the fireside. Our emphasis is on a friendly personal service to enhance a comfortable relaxing stay for you and yours to enjoy. We can arrange for you to be picked up by jaunting car from our home so you can enjoy a traditional trip or horse back ride through the Gap of Dunloe.
Stayed with my mum for a 5 day break to visit the gap of dunloe and other walking spots, location for the gap was very good with amazong views of the mountains from the b&b and a great pub just over a 5min walk, we came slightly before season so unfortunately 2nights of our 4 the pub wasn't serving food so John the host ever so kindly dropped us to another nearby restaurant called the golden nugget, huuuge portions of food and fairly priced also is in sync with the days that Kate Kearney doesn't do food so worked out well. About 8min car ride to killarney and would suggest if doing this frequently then to hire a car as we ended paying a few taxis 20 to 25 euro each way! Min of 45 euro in a taxi from Kerry airport which is 25mins but cheaper if getting the bus to killarney bus depot 5euro each and then taxi from there! The b&b is remote for purpose of being situated for the gap walk so be aware of this and stock up if needing supplies beforehand. John and Nora are lovely hosts with a wide knowledge of the area and willing to help out and are around for any questions or concerns. Breakfast is served in a lovely decorated room with hot croissants and contential choices to start the day. John also does the jaunting car ride with 1 of his own horses called Nelly for 60 euro (for 2) great experience and def recommended for the gap as it is a strenuous walk if on foot, we walked from a point to lord Brandon's cottage which was sadly not as anticipated nore of a grab and go place but again maybe was due to being out of season and if honest maybe not worth the walk again it's just as beautiful walking to the point of the black valley and returning to kates cottage for hot food options and live music which is a great vibe! The walk back from Brandon's took 2hrs 34mins and was very steep and tough going so be prepared. Thank you John and Nora l, myself and Wendy thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you :) …

This was easily the most beautiful and luxurious room that my partner had stayed in on our travels in Ireland. Easily nicer than rooms at Parknasilla which were 6X the price. I have absolutely no issue recommending this B&B to anyone passing through.

I’ve been to many bed-and-breakfasts all over the world, and this is the first time I’ve seen one that doesn’t serve a proper breakfast. You get a paper bag with fruit, bread, yogurt and a choice of tea or INSTANT COFFEE. Hot coffee is a minimum for many people in the morning, so let’s hope they spring for a Nespresso machine at the very least!

If you don’t want to be in the hustle and bustle of Killarney this place is perfect. The Gap of Dunloe is a spectacular location and The Ferris Wheel is right there. Walking distance to Kate Kierney’s pub where you can get a little of the Irish culture and an ordinary pub meal. But if you want a better meal we would suggest the Beaufort Bar and Restaurant a short drive away. The only downside is the en-suite in our room was tiny and inefficient.

We were a family of 7 staying here for 2 nights. What a lovely home in a gorgeous setting! We received a warm welcome. All rooms were on the first floor which was really nice. The rooms were spacious and had lots of information on the area. The shower situation was a bit odd and did make a bit of a mess of the bathroom but we didn’t feel this was a big deal whatsoever. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and plentiful. It was very quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and enjoyed Cody’s pop in to visit us in the breakfast room. Highly recommend!

Great starting point for Ring of Kerry. Quiet location in very scenic Gap of Dunloe. We walked to Kate Kearneys Cottage for dinner. Our host was very welcoming even though we arrived late after getting lost on our drive from Wexford. Good sized room and comfortable bed. John offered to provide our breakfast early when we had to make an early start for our next travel connection.

Having booked one night here a few weeks ago (through Booking. Com) I rang to see if i could book a second night as we planned to come a day earlier. The man who answered at 10:45pm said it was too late to call. I apologized and suggested that I rang in the morning. He said no we ll look at this now. He then subjected me to a rude aggressive questioning - eg Shouting at me I said DATE not DAY - you get the idea. He then said theres no booking for me at all in the book. I said Id booked through Booking. Com (i have a confirmation) - to which he replied F%#K Booking. Com - you’ve no booking boy and hung up. And this is the famous Kerry welcome that these guys are so proud of. I got an apology email the following day for the abuse advising me to cancel my Booking.com reservation as they had no room - a week before I’m traveling - if i hadn’t rang I would have turned up to this abuse in person. I cancelled my booking. Make your own mind up but I would darken this madhouse in a million years. Get Outlook for iOS…

Very comfy B&B. Modernist, minimalist room. No screen on shower was a nuisance. The B&B was well located for the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula sections of the Wild Atlantic Way. Evening meals were available at Kate Kearney Cottage was just down the road.

We had a great time about 4 years ago in the Ferris Wheel. The location is stunning, especially if you let John take you through the gap of Dunloe by horse and jauntingcar. It's such an experience to go through the Gap this way!!! Rooms are cozy and comfortable , property is well taken care off and your hosts are just lovely! Enjoy!!!!

We had a wonderful time at the Ferris Wheel B and B. John and Norah were the perfect hosts. There was a VERY detailed binder in our room that had lots of information about the area. If we had any additional questions, they were more than happy to spend time with us to help tweak our itinerary. The room itself was extremely nice and the bed was very comfortable. John makes an awesome breakfast!
