Dublin Citi Hotel is frequently lauded by travelers for its friendly and helpful staff, adding a personal touch to the guest experience. While the rooms are generally found to be clean and comfortable, they are on the smaller side and some guests have reported noise from the lively streets and the occasional smoky smell. The hotel's atmosphere is described as vibrant, particularly due to the live music from the bar, though this contributes to the noise level which can be a downside for those seeking quiet. Despite this, the central location is a highlight, offering easy access to Dublin's attractions and nightlife, although opinions on value for money vary among guests.

I visited the Dublin City Hotel for the Saint Patrick’s day holiday for a little solo trip to Ireland. Staff was incredibly attentive to my needs and were always pleasant in conversation. Maddie, and Arishi come to mind in particular each time soeaking with them was joyful and they had a lot of information about the city and where I could go to learn about its history. As a nervous American touring abroad for the first time it was nice to have helpful hotel staff. The bar also had very friendly bartenders/waitresses. My room was fairly small but I imagined that’s simply the reality of having a solo room. I was able to find many interesting things to do because of the hotels wall of brochures and I was even given a helpful map by Maddie. Overall my experience was joyful and I loved chatting with the staff. If I ever return to Dublin then the is will be the hotel I stay at.

This hotel is in the heart of Dublin, walk distance to main attractions like Temple Bar, Grafton Street and Stephen green. The room is old and basic but it works and clean. Outside is very noisy but don't worry hotel provides ear plug. I will definitely comeback again

We stayed in the hotel from Friday until Monday The room was clean (cleaned daily). We had read reviews about the cold rooms and noise from outside, but we were warm and even though it was the weekend Ireland played Wales in the six nations, we had no complaints about the noise (it was very quiet after 11:30 pm). Location is good, just a short walk to the river Liffey, shops and restaurants. We only tried the breakfast, the full Irish breakfast was tasty and filling (only served after 8:00 am) the continental consisted of cornfkakes, toast (a better toaster is needed), a sticky bun, and a quartered orange, so that was a tad disappointing. We would hope to stay in this hotel on our next visit, and would recommend to others looking to visit the temple bar area of Dublin.

Had a lovely overnight stay here with friendly helpful service and a clean quiet room. There was live music earlier but it didn’t bother me too much and stopped at a reasonable time. A lift was available and handy for my luggage. Would definitely stay again!

Improve windows. Insulation needed. Too drafty and cold. The curtains covered the radiators but did not keep the draft or noice out. Breakfast with toast and an egg instead of sweet pastries a better and cheaper choice any day of the Year.

We really enjoyed staying at this historic downtown hotel connected to a pub. Very friendly staff and great service at both hotel and pub.Super location. I would stay here again. The room was facing a busy street but they supply earplugs. Older but nice. The bed was a bit lumpy. Despite this we had a good sleep for the two nights we were there.

Response from Hotel Manager, General Manager at Dublin Citi Hotel
Responded Jan 12, 2024
Dear Julie I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our historic downtown hotel. It's great that you found the staff friendly and appreciated the service at both the hotel and the pub. The central location and historical charm must have added to the overall experience. We provide earplugs for rooms facing a busy street, and I'm glad to hear that, despite the age of the room and a slightly lumpy bed, you had a good sleep during your two nights here. We have several very good reviews about the mattresses so it seems that is depends on own preferences Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back on your future visits!

The hotel is a bit dated, but feels historic. The staff were excellent and helpful. It is in a great location for all that Dublin offers. The price of drink is a bit steep, but to be expected in Dublin these days.I was disappointed by the breakfast I was served,it was too big and served on cold plates, but the excellent staff did not charge me when I complained about the cold food,I feel that the quantity of food could be reduced, not something I thought I would ever say.
