Excellent rooms and friendly service, convenient location near railway station. The arriving and departing times were flexible and we were helped with our suitcase. There was ample tea, sugar and milk provided and the TV's worked perfectly!

Stayed here on Sat night 16-May. The proprietors could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Our room + ensuite was clean and everything was functional. It was quiet at night. The Bradgate is a very good value-for-money hotel, and I would be happy to stay there again.

I was staying here because i had a concert at the curve theatre and i was looking for something reasonable as i was only using it as a place to sleep afterwards and was leaving early the next morning. It also was a benefit that i could have breakfast included as i didn't know the area well enough to find somewhere to eat the next morning. When i arrived i was greeted by a lovely manager who not only was very welcoming to hotel but also gave me a really good recommendation for dinner and where to purchase items my parents had asked me to pick up for them. The room itself was spacious and really clean as was the bath room which was a really good size. There was plenty of tea and coffee and was genuinely more then i expected when i booked. After dinner at the restaurant i was recommended i headed back to my room and got ready to go to my show. Again unsure of where i was heading the night manager was more then helpful giving me directions and telling me what streets to avoid. When i came back that night he also seemed genuinely interested in how i had enjoyed it and put a young woman travelling on her own at ease. The next morning i had paid for the continental breakfast and was surprised at the choice of cereal and breads i had. Nothing was too much trouble and both the landlady and the manager were so welcoming and were really friendly whilst i had my breakfast. Overall i can not fault my stay as well as being central to both the station and the city centre but far enough out that you get a peaceful nights sleep. 10/10

Old fashioned hospitality, clean rooms, comfortable mattress, coffee and tea making facility, brand new TV all I needed for a comfortable stay, whilst attending a conference at Leicester University. The staff are genuine Leicester folk who know the area. They will happily direct you to the best eating spots and shops. The other plus is that the Bradgate Hotel really is just down the road from the railway station and not far from Leicester University main campus. For someone travelling by rail without a car this makes life easy. Sue W

I just spent a week on a training course at the university and chose this hotel as i was paying for myself rather than having it paid for by my company and fotr a budget hotel i was very impressed. The Hotel is in a great position for the university, there was free wireless although limited in its scope - but completely unexpected, the landlady was lovely and the informal atmosphere was great compared to the usual business hotels i normally stay at. The place was also very clean and a lovely buffet breakfastand also free parking which was also very handy. The price was ridiculously good for the quality of the place i believe 10 out of 10 :)

We'd stayed here previously about 15 years ago, and looked more recently on a visit to Leicester but it was booked. This time we rang a week or two in advance. If you do want to stay, do book well in advance, because they have so many regular guests there are very few spare rooms. The management is very welcoming and make you feel at home straight away. The rooms, at least ours was (17), are bright and recently decorated. The facilities are fine for the money- we got a reduced weekend rate which included a "continental" style breakfast, with a range of yogurts, cereals, chocolate croissants and toast. I have given it 5 because we were very happy with it, but some seem to consider it not luxurious enough even though they are being charged very little. Such as as the previous reviewer who was not happy with the frequency of sheet changes. (what does he do at home one wonders?)

I am a 20 year old female who went to stay at The Bradgate alone for two nights whilst in Leicester on work experience. I had never been to Leicester before and was a bit apprehensive but the staff and "live-in" guests at the Bradgate made me so welcome and were incredibly helpful. I felt very safe and really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely recommend.

I only stayed for one night, but I must have had a sixth sense as I rang the hotel to confirm my booking to find that it didn't exist. The guy left in charge said the woman who owns it had changed books and hadn't moved my booking over! As it was they had a spare room available and only charged me for a single room (they actually gave me double!). This hotel is also on the edge of the red light district, but I didn't see anything "funny" occurring. I went to take a shower as well, to find they hadn't left me any towels whatsoever. No breakfast included either.

Had a wonderful experience at the Bradgate. Was at an archaeology conference for the week and spend five nights at the establishment. The proprietors bent over backwards to make my stay the best possible--really felt like I was part of the local community when staying there. Would highly recommend the Bradgate to anyone who wants a truly English Inn experience.

Leicester is where I was born and brought up but I no longer have family here to stay with, I first stayed at the Bradgate in 2010, after a bad experience elsewhere, and again in 2011, The hotel is clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a good breakfast if required. It is close to everything one needs including Leicester Tigers!!!!!!! A lift would be a blessing for we older guests (I'm 75) but I shall continue to use the Bradgate until I can no longer manage the stairs..... My next visit is iminent. Kay Hull Portsmouth
