I was surprised to find that there was a charge to use hotel WiFi of £3 a day!!! There was a gratis of a meagre 30 minutes, although I used it for just a couple of minutes and was then told I’d used up the allowance. The bed linen on one of the beds was dirty and the bed was full of a variety of hair.

Excellent location, close to shops and buses. An easy 30 minute walk to the Hoverport. Had a 5th floor, spacious family room with panoramic views. Beautifully clean. Comfortable bed. Staff were helpful and attentive. Bought the breakfast which was also very good. Topped up constantly and fresh. Will use again.

A lovely welcome from Marg and Kirsty. The hotel proved to be an excellent base for our ferry trip to France as the terminal is just across the road! All hotel staff were very helpful, and Kirsty went out of her way to assist with our Wi-Fi login hiccup.

If you just want a bed for the night before catching the early morning ferry, it does its job. Expect a smell of damp; uncomfortable pillows; 1 towel between 2 adults; dirty round the edges room… needs a birthday/lick of paint and a good airing!

The hotel was pleasant enough and the room was fine. We checked in quick enough but given no directions as to where to go, which was fine but not used to that especially having just been asked had we stayed there before and answering no. The bathroom was not the best, there was stuff on the floor ( like it had not been swept before our arrival) and then units looked liked they weren't looked after the best but it wasn't enough for us to not use the hotel again. The location was great for what we needed. Plenty of parking but assuming that was due to also having a pub and a wacky warehouse for kids next door. The noise was just like any other Travelodge - heard toilets flushing, doors being slammed, people talking at odd hours but its something you expect so not a problem. All in all i would stay here again but probably not longer than 1 or 2 nights.
