A family run AA 3 Star Highly Commended Guest House just 5 minutes from the golden sandy beaches and Europe's 1st surf reef. A short car ride away you can explore the New Forest National Park or the Jurassic coast. Whether on holiday or business come and let us spoil you.
The breakfast and dinner were faultless. The restaurant staff is excellent. The major letdown for us was room service. We asked for a water bottle to be sent to our room 4 times but we didn't get it even once. We called 3 times for fresh towels before getting a fresh set. It's an old hotel with creaky floorboard and low-pressure water in the shower.

We stayed for two nights and the rooms are just what you need. It's anything but the Ritz but the rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are comfy. Were glad we stayed in boscombe as we went to a lovely Thai restaurant called koh Thai tapa's and the beech is lovely.

On our short holiday we were very welcome by Norman who made us feel completely at home. Near the beach and restaurants. Reasonable price. The room was complete with description of local amenities. Delicious breakfast. We certainly would like to go back.

Our 3 days in this beautiful b&b run by the most amazing friendly and welcoming couple Norman & Jill went too fast. The B&B was well looked after and the room so comforting. The breakfast was superb, well presented and cooked to your liking.Tea and coffe were offered by Norman when we sat down and as much toast as you wanted with breakfast.Fresh fruit and cereal were available, as well as yoghurt and fresh juice. The mix of looking after you as a guest and giving you your own space was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. I really would recommend this BB to everyone. We really look forward to coming back.

Carlton Lodge is a lovely place to stay and I really enjoyed the traditional B&B feel. We arrived later that expected due to M25 traffic two, adults and three children. We had a warm welcome from Gill and she showed us to our rooms. The rooms were clean and spacious with an easy to access toilet and shower. The children loved their own space. Usually I struggle to sleep in beds away however, these beds were very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were great and definitely needed after a long drive. The children made use of wifi and this was a great extra. Norman and Gill are cheery and fantastic people they really made us feel at home. The breakfast in the morning wow it was amazing. Full English breakfast with choice of vegetarian. Wonderful fruit yogurt and perfect home made muffins. I had the Lemon ones my favorite the kiddies enjoyed the chocolate. There are many things to do in the area we had two nights but wished it was longer. The beach is a short stroll from the hotel. Also amazing sights such as Lulworth cove and Durdle Door deserve a visit (car ride away). My nephew ad children aged 10, 13 and 15 were well welcomed by Norman and Gill. My daughter even got a chance to show her singing talent and the couple genuinely made an extra effort to accommodate all of us. Many thanks to you both we will be back soon. Also my son and nephew have drawn pictures which they would like you to have I will send to you shortly.…

Visited whilst attending Bournemouth Art college open day which is a short drive away. Large, clean and well equipped room, comfy bed and nice and quiet. A short walk down to the seafront and some recommended restaurants. Huge cooked breakfast and super choice of cereals, yoghurts, amazing muffins and fresh fruit. The owners could not be more welcoming, helpful and hospitable. Thank you Gill and Norman, look forward to returning some day!

My other half and I spent 2 nights here and we had a very nice stay. The room was very nice, the WiFi was very good and the breakfasts were expertly cooked! It is a short walk to Boscombe Beach and Pier, and also to some excellent restaurants which come recommended by the BnB itself.

Everything from the spacious immaculate en-suite bedroom, to the extremely comfortable bed to the amazing cooked breakfast of locally sourced, gourment level bacon and eggs and mushrooms and home-made fruit salad and the warm and friendly reception from Gill and Norman.

My other half and I were looking for something close to the beach for the airshow and we came upon this little gem. The room that we had, #3, was a wonderful size, spacious but cosy at the same time with a lovely little ensuite shower room. The amenities in the room were welcoming. The breakfast each morning was lovely and the homemade muffins were yummy. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in the Bournemouth area.
