We stayed here five nights in September. Manager clearly dislikes his job and is greatly annoyed by any customer inquiry. Staff has learned from him that they too can show blatant disdain for customers. (Perhaps the alarming noise from the adjacent railway and nearby Trans-Canada Highway is what makes them all so irritable?) It's also dismaying, and sometimes comical, to witness how little the staff understand the basics of their jobs. As for the room, it was tiny, shabbily furnished form a thrift store, with ancient carpet, and a swayback bed that made it difficult to sleep and painful to stand up in the morning. And we stood up much earlier than we intended due to sleep-shattering noise from the pre-dawn-departing guests upstairs. But we did have one delightful experience here: Leaving it in our rearview mirror.

Our first time staying here…have often eaten at the incredible Bistro! Delightful large room with sitting area. Beautiful. Quiet. Trains from afar were not a problem. Clean and very comfortable. We shall be back! Highly recommend a stroll around this beautiful town!

A group of ten friends stayed here in six rooms. The rooms are well appointed - mini fridge, microwave, coffee/tea, and heater. There is no air conditioner, so I slept with the windows open. My big concern was noise from the trains. The trains during the night were incredibly quiet. I’d rate the noise equal to or quieter than being in an urban area. At least there were no sirens! Mike, the manager, was wonderful. He accommodated our group by making sack sandwiches that were delicious - sandwiches are not on the bistro menu. We left at 6:15 in the morning, so we were able to check out the day or so before. I am definitely staying here next year.

We stayed in the lodge for 4 nights. It was absolutely amazing. The room itself had everything you need, everything was clean and well organized. We also did laundry, only 4 dollars for the washing machine and 1 dollar for the dryer. We also bought breakfast and ice cream, it was delicious. If we are in the area again, I would definitely stop by just to buy some food. Staff was also very nice and welcoming. 10/10 recommendation

I am spending the night here on my way to a wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge. What a delightful place! My room reminds me of a quaint ski chalet. I ate dinner in the lounge/dining room and had the Moroccan lamb shanks and it was incredible. I wished I would have had room for dessert. The menu had a great variety of vegan and gluten free options (my sister and her hubby are hosting the wedding rehearsal dinner here tomorrow night and they will be happy that their vegan/celiac family members can be accommodated. I highly recommend this lodge for a stopover on your way east or west.

We stayed a couple nights while on family vacay and it was awesome! What a great, relaxing vibe. The staff were attentive and the meals and drinks fantastic! It was a good base to explore the area and do some snowboarding at Lake Louise. Thanks for stocking some great local beers.

Stopped in on the way home from skiing. I was told the burgers rock, and that is true. Hand-ground beef, onion rings, and great sides make this a place to stop. Lots of beer and wine choices. Great service. My only criticism is that the beef could have been seasoned a bit more. Stop or miss out!

It's nice to wake up in a full service lodge surrounded by the most beautiful scenery in the Rockies. Centrally located in Yoho National Park and home to an incredible restaurant the Truffle Pigs is a cozy retreat with a real mountain feeling. Yes the trains run close by and the town is very small with limited services but for folks wanting a backcountry experience with front country access it's perfect. The rooms have character and are nicely furnished, the ambiance is very mountain town. It's all you need to as a base to truly explore the real Rockies. Pricing is reasonable, rooms are well appointed, food is great, parking is easy, surrounding area is filled with exploring opportunities winter or summer. a favorite!

The room was clean and the beds were comfy. However, the room took over 5hours to heat up a little bit - we had to request a separate heater, and it still barely helped. We came especially to heat up after sleeping in a van for over a week, but this cleary was not warm. We had to sleep in our sleeping bags, inside an (expensive) hotel. It was -6 outside, and cold inside.
