This inn is clearly in need of some updgrades, but it was better than the last place we stayed when we were in town. Be aware that it's noisy - our room overlooked the street and as luck would have it we were adjacent to the only two bars in town. Anyone who went out for a smoke break was yelling and talking directly below our window. You could also hear the music from the bar at night and it started up again at 10:30 the next morning. Some other guests were also quite roudy and were talking at full volume in the hallway at 3:30 am. We arrived on the coldest weekend of the month and the window-mounted air conditioner was still installed, leaking cold air into the room. It was only 14 degrees in there when we arrived and there weren't many warm blankets on the beds. We plugged the gap with a facecloth to try and stop the draft, but since there was no front desk, we didn't know how to call. (Check in was done in the bar downstairs, which was a bit odd ). The floor of our room had a distince uphill sloap towards the bathroom and the bed was not at all supportive, but the water pressure was good. There are clearly some issues, but the location is great so we would likely stay here again. We'll be sure to bring ear plugs though!

The brigantine inn lunenburg is well situated in the middle of this small village Nice bar/ restaurant with patio overlooking the harbor front. Check in was a bit weird as you had to hunt down a bar waitress who doubled as a inn keeper as well. Rooms are above bar but it wasnt too noisy but there is no elevator for those who need one to get to their room.

This stay didn't start well, parking is difficult and there seemed to be noone at check in. We had to register with restaurant staff who proceeded to ask for a tip as we paid. Room access is poor, you have to carry luggage up narrow stairs. The rooms are good sized but desperately in need of a good clean and refurbish. The one good thing is location, right in the centre of town. We won't stay here again.

I had the unfortunate experience of booking a room at this establishment months in advance, only to receive an email on the morning of our scheduled arrival, informing us that our reservation had been canceled. It was baffling to learn that the room we had reserved had ‘sprung a leak’ and had been supposedly "closed" for a month, and yet they waited until the day of our arrival to notify us (as yet unseen email sent at 11:00 that morning) The staff's behavior during this ordeal was unhelpful to say the least. They displayed a complete lack of professionalism and were shockingly dismissive when we inquired about the cancellation. Instead of taking responsibility for their own negligence, they attempted to shift the blame onto the booking agent, which was far from the truth. It was clear that they were simply too lazy to inform guests with existing bookings of the situation. Moreover the check in is actually in the bar and the staff were rather more focused on serving drinks than helping people supposedly try to check in. This entire experience left me utterly disgusted with this hotel. I strongly advise against staying with them. The staff's complete lack of interest and their utter unreliability left us in a precarious situation with a family of 4 after traveling over from England. It's a shame that such a lacklustre, unprofessional, establishment is allowed to operate in the hospitality industry. Avoid at all costs!

We stayed five days in June and loved the location and the incredible view of the harbour. It had many great restaurants within the same block, including a pub on the bottom floor with good food and service. Strongly encourage reservations for dinner with people lined up waiting up to thirty minutes. The staff were working in the pub and were very busy but took the time to address an issue with a brief wait. Being a 3-star accommodation and a reasonable price, we had older decor but did not mind. The rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors were kept clean, and the access from the street was only by room pass card. The 2nd floor was accessible from the street with a stairwell down to the pub which the public accessed from the street at harbour level. There was a loud noise in the late evening from the entertainment in the restaurant pub next door, so we turned on the air conditioning fan to mask it. Housekeeping staff came to our door each morning to ask if we needed anything.

A warm smile and laughter are not normally mentioned in reviews but the staff at The Brigantine Inn have an abundance of both. The staff makes you feel at home and the pub and dining room below the rooms are simply wonderful. Try the Lunenburg burger. Who knew that topping an already great burger with Lobster is so good? I would recommend the Inn heartily.... Kevin M, Ontario

Very basic accommodations, had to walk up hill in our room to get to the bathroom!! with no front desk - must check in at bar in the basement-no one changes the towels (but we were not told of that) dry clean towels every day are a must!! No breakfast is available as bar doesn't open til about 11 am and no info in the rooms regarding same nor did staff have info about same, all staff seems to work in the bar/restaurant and although I saw a housekeeping person she did not come into our room, on day 3 when I checked regarding dry towels a bartender came up because housekeeping had left for the day. On the plus side right near the water, restaurant food was good, and fortunately did not have to spend much time in the room.

We were in Lunenburg for one night on a family trip and had booked this online. The price was really reasonable, almost too good, but when we checked in I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. Many of the restaurants in the area also run boutique style hotels out of the upstairs locations, so in the style of the neighborhood check in is at the restaurant downstairs. The area was very quiet for sleeping and the location is in the middle of many other restaurants and also right on the waterfront. Would absolutely stay here again!

At first glance, uncertainty sets in but is quickly displaced after check in at The Grand Banker pub downstairs. Room 2 was very large with a balcony overlooking the historic harbour, and the Fisheries Museum. This is really a boutique inn. We stayed two nights and while our arrival parking involved carrying our luggage up the village common stairs, we were able to park on the street right in front of the inn with no charge for parking overnight The village is a delight – full of small shops and restaurants, but is also a nice place to stay to tour the area, including Chester, Mahone Bay and Oak Island. There is no breakfast available at this inn, but there is a coffee shop two streets up the hill which is open early

Formerly the Brigantine Inn was a good hotel in a nice location. Now only the location is good. The restaurant is a pub after the diner and the music plays until 2:00 am each night. The checkout is very early – at 10:00am – this was a very short night for more than 170CAD. f you want a good sleep look elsewhere for a room. We stayed once again in Picton room (#2) and we knew that the bathroom is very tiny, but we wanted the balcony with deckchairs overlooking the small harbour. The queen bed was very soft and the twin bed collapsed when I put my bag on it, It was no longer a bed like before, but only a wooden frame with two dirty mattresses on it. Behind it were glasses, old handkerchiefs and the dirt of years. The frame was broken. As the manager was not in the house, there was no contact person other than the young, rude people in the restaurant. They made clear every night, that the guests in the pub, who wanted to hear the loud music were more important than the hotel guests who wants to sleep. The fact that one could hear the loud air conditioning of all rooms and the restaurant in the whole hotel was almost unimportant.
