Nothing special but everything was clean, comfortable, and working. Carpet could use an update. Wifi was very slow. AC/vent was good. Pool was closed during the pandemic. Hotel is a short walk to the casinos, beach, and Heavenly village (bars, restaurants, music, shops, theater). Uber from Reno airport was about $85 in the evening, and $120 on the return trip very early in the morning (no shuttle available at that hour, and taxi was $200). I'd definitely stay here again when I'm back in the area.

Hate this phrase but it is what it is...centrally located, basic rooms, questionable carpets, iffy wifi, good shower pressure, so all in all a great base if you are out most of the day. Aircon was fine, and Randall very helpful.
As a base, would recommend. But if you're intending staying around the hotel a fair amount, I'd go elsewhere (pool closed, where other motel pools were open).
Will stay again.

This is a ski town so in general hotels get beaten up by travelers and south lake attracts all kinds. The hotel is basic and clean but personally just worn down. Staff was really nice and helpful. Pool and spa closed due to COVID and breakfast was coffee and packaged danish, fruit. Construction and noise in the back of building, guests smoking outside their rooms. Beach passes were nice to have but not the best Tahoe beach. No daily housekeeping, excellent location

My husband and I spend 4 nights mid-week here as we researched information for our Lake Tahoe audio tour. This hotel and all the staff were wonderful. The price could not be beat, $49 a night. The room was very clean, perfectly located within walking distance of Heavenly Village and Raleys and a charming beach. After Labor Day the beach is open to anyone, but prior to that it costs $10 to enter. This hotel comps that fee! There were no resort or parking fees. Breakfast was included - during COVID it was coffee and a hermetically sealed muffin. Honestly that was all we needed. Because of COVID no one enters your room after you arrive, so when we needed new towels we just went to the office and were given new towels. We will come back here to stay anytime. Our room had a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave! Thank you to the staff of Blue Lake for making our stay so enjoyable. We Will Be Back!

We stayed for 2 nights on a weekend in S. Lake Tahoe and paid @$300/night. It was way overpriced for the VERY poor quality of the room. The room was musty and smelled like they sprayed too much deodorant in the air. It had super old dirty curtains like they hadnt been cleaned for decades. One of the pillows had shoe marks and someone else's hairs on it. The bathroom had mold in the ceiling and the tub paint was discolored and worn. The vanity was also overdue to be replaced. We were glad we had sleeping bags and a portable air filter and we lined the vanity with tissue papers before putting our things on it. Luckily we brought our own towels as well. They served free continental breakfast but we were too frightened to eat it judging from the disrepair of the room. We bought a few groceries and put it in the fridge but it wasnt cold enough that our perishables went bad.

Check-In was very fast and easy. Our room was very nice and clean, and met all our needs. Parking was a little tight, be we always had a spot. We used the pool and the hot tub (bubbles weren't working) the first day. The location is great, walking distance to the beach (where access is included when staying at this motel), casinos, and plenty of stuff to see and do. We slept great. Breakfast was good, with fruit, cereal, and bagels, and that's all we really wanted, just something to get us started. Later in the day, we noticed that the pool had been closed due a mechanical failure, which was disappointing, but we stayed in South Lake Tahoe to go in the lake, not a pool. Our A/C unit also went out sometime during the middle of the day, and after going to the front desk, was moved to a similar room a couple doors down, without any issue. The staff were very helpful. Me and my wife enjoyed our two night stay, and check out was fast and easy. We would stay here again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My boyfriend and I have been staying at Blue Lake Inn for several years. We are loyal return customer's that refer people to Blue Lake every chance we get. Over the past several weeks we have had MANY concerning issues with this hotel and we will NOT be returning. First of all, we booked a room in March of 2021. The night we drove up to Tahoe, the manager called us letting us know the room had been flooded and there were no others rooms left, this was our anniversary weekend, and there was nothing he could do. He did offer a larger discount next time we stayed with them. We had to last minute book another hotel and ended up spending 2X what we normally would have spent, with no large hot tub (what I was excited about). It was very frustrating. This weekend (April 16th, 2021), we called to give them another chance and book a hotel room. As we were making our reservation, a Blue Lake employee, Trenton, told us that the manager (Randall) - had blacklisted us because we brought in two dogs and didn't tell management. We only own 1 dog, and have never brought more than our 1 dog, and we ALWAYS tell them we have a dog with us. We were dumbfounded and very frustrated, as you can imagine. We told them that was the case (we have never brought 2 dogs, and if we did, we certainly would have told them), and that we have stayed with them at least 150 times with friends and family and also referred many people to them. Trenton in a very rude tone, told me there was nothing he could do and refused to call the manager. My boyfriend then told him that we have been in situations at Blue Lake where the manager was called after he left (like our room flooding in March) because of customer issues, and he mentioned he then could do that. Being a women, I was also frustrated that he 1) lied to me and 2) only agreed to call the manager once my boyfriend mentioned he knows that they have the manager #. We will no longer be staying at the Blue Lake or referring anyone - in fact, we will make sure people do not stay there! We will also be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

The property is decent. What you would expect from a $90 room. Location is great and walking to a lot of eateries.

The front desk staff is super cold and rude. Not only do they NOT understand what a customer is asking, they make it a point to be as curt as possible - be it asking for directions, breakfast room door not opening, or even basic such as whether there is snow on the road.

The room is decent, but the bathtub had stains on it and the heater made so much noise that we got up 2-3 times at night. Other than that, everything was great!

We stayed next door at the Stardust Lodge because of habit. But ... my budget conscience ski friends always stay at Bluelake Inn. Their rooms were clean and tidy with microwave and small refrigerator, and they were able to park their car right out their front door. One short block away from ski rentals and Gondola, and restaurants. Their price is PERFECT! Price probables varies but they paid half what I paid next door at Stardust Lodge.I will be staying here on our next winter ski trip to Heavenly Valley
