The Prince George Hotel basks in acclaim for its prime location, a stone's throw from the Citadel and local attractions, which guests frequently laud. The staff's exceptional service and professionalism earn high praise from many visitors, complementing the hotel's reputation for cleanliness, despite the occasional mention of a pest issue. While the rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and comfort, a few voices point to their dated appearance.
The hotel's value is noted for its luxurious ambiance at affordable rates, although on-site dining costs have raised some eyebrows. Amenities like the pool and valet service add to the appeal, even as some guests suggest a need for updates.

We spent three nights at the Prince George in August. It was well staffed, with excellent rooms that provided everything one needed, including good climate control, lots of bottles of water, and excellent wifi. And it location is great for tourism, walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Halifax. We really liked the breakfast buffet, which included some Canadian specialties like seeded oatcakes and very good scones. They were generous enough to let us take a few things in a box on our last day to allow us to have a bite to eat on the road. I certainly recommend this hotel.

Great location and friendly staff! Beds were soooo comfortable and having a fridge in the room was ideal. During this trip we were upgraded and enjoyed the continental breakfast at the Crown Lounge. We greatly appreciated this bonus!!! I am a repeat guest and looking forward to my visit again next month!

The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance of the waterfront and the city's other attractions. Friendly and professional staff. Very comfortable room. Excellent all round service. Highly recommended. Is on the expensive side, although there are some good deals to be had, but overall for the quality of the experience, it is great value. The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance of the waterfront and other attractions. Friendly and professional staff. Very comfortable room. Overall excellent service. Is on the expensive side but check for deals, all round is excellent value. This is the third time I have stayed at the Prince George and would definitely recommend it. Highly recommended

My husband and I spent 4 nights in a club room. Amazing view of Citadel Hill from our window. The club room served a continental breakfast which was satisfying. This hotel was in a perfect location for us. We planned on a leisurely city stay and everyday wandered downhill to the waterfront, stopping along the way as the weather was hot 😎. The personnel at the hotel were very friendly and always gave good advice. We enjoyed the service on the patio, top notch! Highly recommend this hotel! Thanks Prince George for a lovely stay! Was an overall excellent experience. We've had a few different stays along our east coast road trip, some good, some not so good, but the Prince George Hotel was by far the most welcoming, the most comfortable and the most enjoyable. Thank you for the experience!

We loved this hotel. The room was well appointed, clean, quiet and the air conditioner worked fabulously! The hotel scores very high for walkability to the harbour front and all the nearby restaurants. Beware though....walking to the harbour front is easy as it is downhill....but coming back up was a bit of a workout! There are several restaurants within minutes of the hotel. Press Gang, Auction House, Barrington Steak House and Bicycle Thief were all amazing!! We also enjoyed the outdoor bar area ( Level One I think it was called) a few nights.....it’s was beautiful and relaxing to just sit outside and have a drink before going up to the room at night. The hotel also has a little shop right beside front reception for small things like water, chips, snacks which we…

The hotel's location is as good as it gets for exploring central Halifax. It was only a short walk to get to the Citadel, Public Gardens, the sites along the Waterfront, to Scotiabank Centre in the evening (for the excellent Tattoo), and back to the hotel room whenever we needed a break amidst all that. And there is a great selection of hip trendy restaurants in the neighborhood around the hotel. One word of warning: the hotel is situated a steep hill (that runs from the Citadel down to the waterfront) so it will be harder to walk around the area if you aren't good on hills. I very much appreciated the level of service we received from the front desk staff. There was a problem with our room due to a spurious alarm late at night that was caused by ongoing reconstruction in…

This hotel was like coming home. The staff could not have been friendlier. They were totally committed to making our trip interesting and comfortable. They recommended great restraints, planned a fabulous scenic drive and remembered details from our conversations to follow up on. The bed was super comfortable although the pillows could have been softer. Only complaint is that the elevator (only one was working) was shabby and in need of cleaning and new carpeting.

Recently spent a couple of nights at this hotel whilst on a coach tour of Nova Scotia. Overall a pleasant enough hotel with plenty of pubs, restaurants, etc close by. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well furnished. All staff were friendly and helpful.
