We found this delightful bed and breakfast, outside Inverness, at the last minute. The host, David, had no vacancies in the bed and breakfast, but he said he had a small cottage, just 300m from the bed and breakfast, that we were able to rent for the night. This was a lovely, spacious cottage right across from the beach, on the same road as the b&b. David told us where we could watch bottle nose dolphins within a nice evenings 15 minute walk along the beach. He also told us about things to see in the area and places to eat within walking distance of our cottage. Very clean, quiet and beautiful scenery to be had just a few minutes drive outside Inverness. Highly recommend!

Found this little gem on rosemarkie beach - lovely couple who own it also live on site so is family home plenty of family photos around and the Japanese influence as owner has a Japanese wife. A real homely feeling at all times. Bedroom was very clean and spacious and we had everything that we needed at all times. Breakfast was made to order and served in lovely room overlooking the firth and the beach. Very nice bed and breakfast would recommend x

On my motorcycle tour of Scotland I chose to stay at the Fair Isle B&B because of its location and views and reviews... David the owner is most helpful and explained where to eat that eve and how to see the dolphins locally. David was most welcoming to motorcyclists like me too. As a regular visitor to Japan I was pleased that the household works on the same clean philosophy due to Davids wife being from Osaka. So I have to say that I am shocked and disappointed at the ignorant and negative reviews regarding taking ones shoes off at the door. This is absolutely essential to a clean household and keeping them on would be against David's wife's culture. Shame on the reviewers. The result is that when you visit the house is very very clean, I think I know what I prefer. Breakfast is excellent and as you can see by my photos has a superb view too from the dining area.

We stayed here on our way home from Orkney. We also were greeted with please remove your shoes. I pointed out we had just arrived and we're just out of our car. We were also showed to our room at the back overlooking the car park and loads of washing hanging not the most pleasant view. The room was clean enough bit old fashioned very flowery. Breakfast was not included and we were not offered a cooked breakfast. We had cereal, yogurt,a boiled egg and toast.which cost us an extra £5 each.

All guests arrived at the same time which appeared to upset the owner - there is a note on the door stating check in time is after 4pm. Guests were waiting outside until the owner opened the building at 4pm. The initial greeting was pleasant, we were quickly told to take our shoes off with the owner pointing out we had brought in sand in on our shoes - my husband explained we had not been on the beach. The owner went on at length about no shoes in the house - we felt it was unnecessary to keep reiterating this, his persistence was making us feel uncomfortable. It, perhaps could have been handled better. We were shown to our room, which we felt was dark, tired and dated with a view of the car park at the back. Breakfast consisted of a selection of 3 cereals, tea/coffee and toast with a further option of granola or a cooked breakfast or a continental breakfast - my husband's cooked breakfast was brought before he'd finished his cereal and the granola option was a latte cup of mostly yoghurt. We did not find it welcoming or friendly but felt, rather, that there was a coldness - just wanting the money for the least inconvenience. At £85 for the room with breakfast included we felt we'd stayed in nicer properties for less money and where more effort was made to make guests feel comfortable.

We were making our way round Scotland booking rooms day to day, we liked the name of the Black Isle so we headed there up from Johnshaven on the east coast, the Fair Isle had a vacancy so we booked it, what a result right on the beach next to Chanonry Point where you can watch bottlenose dolphins play and feed, Well the weather was sensational that day as we paddled in the sea, David and his family made us most welcome, the House was lovely exceptionally maintained to a very high standard, breakfast was first class, Scotland keeps on delivering, Great place.

We were greeted by the owner who was very helpful with where to eat and even offered to book a table for us at the local Bistro as it is very popular gets extremelly busy. We stayed one night in a nice room with the biggest most comfortable bed we have ever had in a B&B. The breakfast room has perfect views over the Moray Firth. The food was first class and plenty of it. We would certainly stay here again.

This is wonderful little Bed and Breakfast has three guest rooms and sets across the street from Rosemarkie Beach. Across the firth you can see historic Fort George and just a walk down the beach to the Fort Rose lighthouse you can see dolphins. David and Hanako Cameron are the most gracious hosts you'll ever want to meet and if you're lucky you'll get to see David and Kyle playing tennis on the front lawn. If we ever get back to the area we will stay here again.

Enjoyed our pre-booked stay (just as well we had booked as very busy!) Warm welcome from Cameron, super sized room, very clean and fresh ensuite and breakfast overlooking the sea with the chance of seeing dolphins.
