This small boutique hostel, owned and run by Rodolfo for the last 13 years, is a remarkably warm and welcoming home for backpackers and independent travelers. Much quieter than others, everything is spotless. You enter a leafy courtyard with a fountain in the middle where fish swim. You can also enjoy the sun terrace and admire the mountains, prepare small dish in the kitchen or enjoy a barbecue. The communal sitting area awaits you with cushions and fireplace. Wi-Fi access to the Internet is free. The four mixed dorms are spacious and airy with private lockers for every guest. In addition, there are four bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom. It is ideally situated in a quiet area, close to the craft market and great restaurants and downtown. The hostel also offers tours around Chiapas and horseback to the mountains or to San Juan Chamula.

Stayed at this hostal for 3 nights found it to be dirty and the owner to be a bit 2 faced, nice to your face but tried to charge us 60 pesos storage to leave our bags outside on the porch for the day before we left, which ive never had to do anywhere else. Make sure if you pay by cash that you get a receipt if you have booked it through booking.com as he informs them you haven't stayed there so he doesn't have to pay the commision and now have to prove to them we did as not too be charged again. All in all it has been the most unpleasant stay and ruined a good memory of staying in a nice town of St Cristobal. There are better places to stay there, so I would reccomend staying somewhere else rather than here

Qhia Hostel was a nice Hostel, If you really want to relax and be in a quiet place, Qhia is a master of it. The layout of the hostel is well planned, The courtyard was my favorite and well maintained by raz. They also have a rooftop indoor and outdoor where you can just chill and do some wellness. People that I met was great. Location is closer to local market which is the best of all.

The hostel is located perfectly. The atmosphere is nice and the common room upstairs is cosy and has a nice fireplace. It is a very colourful hostel and it has beautiful wall art. The owner is a bit slow but very friendly. We booked a dorm as a couple, but sadly there was no space for us in the same dorm. In the mornings there is usually a toilet paper shortage, so make sure you bring some of your own. The toilets could have been cleaned more often, since a lot of people get food poisoning in San Cris.

This is actually a lovely hostel but it’s very cold. The doors for the dorms are always open during the day so you need to be wrapped up to sleep. My double room was disappointing as you had to walk through a dorm room to get to it, and the room itself was pretty depressing, not one you’d like to spend a lot of time in as it was cold and dark. Having ‘treated’ myself to that room I was disappointed. However on the other hand the hostel itself is gorgeous, the terrace is beautiful and it has a good vibe of people. A lot of people stay a long time too. So being cold is not an issue for everyone.

The bedrooms and bathroom are very dirty. Bed linen aren’t changed and there were bed bugs in my bed, i got bitten on all my body. I asked a discount but the Owner said they weren’t bed bugs but I had an allergy...very honest as you can see...there was no cleaning lady during my stay because the previous one had stolen the phone of some friends of mine....who never got any commercial gesture from the owner... Very uncomfortable and old beds. The breakfast isn’t one. There is only one small piece of bread in the morning. Honestly this is a very bad place to stay at and there are plenty of amazing options in San Cristóbal. Avoid this hostel.

we are a couple traveling from canada. We planned to stay here for 1 night and ended up staying for 1 week & coming back for a second time a few weeks later! We got a private room for a very good price, it was clean, cheap & quiet. The shower was hot and pressure was excellent (rare in mexico). Lorenzo is super welcoming and helped us find things to do and good places to eat in the area. LOVED IT, will definitely come back and suggest it to everyone!

Great hostel, it is close to downtown has a nice environment and rooms, it has a living room that you can stay up and drink beers close to a chimney, staff is very helpful, Lorenzo is the man, so polite and great person, cooks breakfast and coffee, price is cheap we were 6 and got our own room with private restroom for 600 pesos the night. You want a place to sleep and hang out with friends for a low price this is your kind of hostel.

This hostel is located a 10 minute walk from the main square. This was nice as it meant you could escape the business of the town. The hostel is well kept and has a nice roof terrace and lounge area where you could light a fire. We had a double room which was quite small but had more than enough space to store your bags, with a desk and shelves. An improvement could be to have a bedside lamp. The showers and toilets were fine with hot water before 12pm but on request after then. Breakfast was included and simple but nice. Toasted fresh bread and a banana spread as well as salsa. Very tasty. Overall a really nice stay. Only thing would be to increase the number of table and chairs in the outside patios to make it look less bare.

I recommend this hostel. It has very colorful rooms with beautiful paintings. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is free wifi. At morning you get toasted bread with jam and cheese in the shared kitchen. It has a beautiful garden court and there live kolibris. If you get lucky you can make a nice picture. The hostel is not far from the center square zocalo but in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Alex the responsible of the hostel is a very friendly and helpful person. He is excellent in his job and does a lot of effort to make sure you have an unforgettable stay. He really cares about his guests and shows interest in every story. Here you can relax sit back and feel at home. A must do!

This is a very cozy and comfortable hostel with typical handicrafts and ornaments all around the place. Very calm and cheap and you can count with the kind help and tips of the personnel. It is located about 7 minutes walking from the main square and cathedral and 3 mins from the ex convento de Santo Domingo--which, by the way it's an amazing architectonical work of art. Highly recommended!
