We chose Long Island and Grotto Bay as we were looking for an idyllic place to relax and enjoy every day as it arrived. We could not have asked for a more suitable place. Whether you're at Bahamas to spend as much time as possible in the hammock, or seeking out the adventures of the Islands, Grotto Bay can offer both. Kayaking, snorkling, hiking, diving, or exploring the huge cave located just outside the doorstep are just a few of the alternatives that Kris and Jeannie are more than happy to assist you with. They were the perfect hosts, and show a genuine interest in you having the best time while you're there. If they are not there to help you personally, you'll find up-to-date information about all sights and seeings on the island, as well as a detailed description of the bars and restaurants of the island. Or, if you feel like staying in, the grocery store is only a minute drive away and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Enjoy the amazing wildlife in the area! Several species of bats found in the cave, in their thousands! Just a few feet from the private beach you can spot lobsters, pufferfish, green turtles, the occasional nurse shark, and of course lots of other colorful species of fish. And then there's Driftwood, the lovely 3-footed cat who loves a good scratch behind the ear. There's really nothing to put you finger on with this place. Regarding the facilities; cleanliness of highest standard, well equipped, high standards, and probably one of the comfiest beds found on the island. Local food products available upon request. Beach towels provided, snorkling gear available. Do's: Stargaze from the beach-side hammocks, and explore the entire cave! Dont's: Look elsewhere. If we were to come back to Long Island we would know where to go.…
