And find it was very interested with how the run things there, I made reservations
On line and speak to this wonderful man call Tony, he said his son is going to pickup me in the Airport and yes indeed he was there with a sign I couldn't missed him, my flight was late, but he was there still and when he picked me up I wanted KFC which he ordered for me this son of Tony us a very quiet dude and was very helpful, WHEN I Reached My Destination
I was very happy to see this guest house in a very Quiet neighborhood and that's what I wanted peace and quiet, I do recommend this place for anyone wants to go for a visit, not to mention Tony next son Jeffrey he was very polite as well, And my cab was very early for the airport
Good job Mr Tony you will definitely see me back,
From George Singh a happy guest.

I spent my birthday weekend at Tony's by myself and I must say for the price I will NOT complain. Tony was very nice and was able to take me around some parts of Trinidad or the store when I needed to go. You can get a maxi taxi that will take you into town right on the corner. Stores and restaurants are within walking distance. There was free Wi-Fi but it worked better outside rather in my room. Would rent this place again should I come back to Trinidad.

I stayed at Tony's for 3 nights. The room was small but good for the price. Tony arranged for the pickup and drop off to the PoS airport for $30 and $35, respectively. He also arranged my taxi to the Asa wright nature center and gave me tips on getting around (Maxi taxis). Overall, it's a nice place if you want something inexpensive.

Like others have said don't expect much from this place in terms of amenities. However, Tony makes this place a well-run establishment. The rooms are small yet clean, efficient, and ideal for the backpacker or those needing a simple place to stay. It is a bit out of the way, but with Taxis the location is easily accessible.

My stay at Tony's Guest House was excellent, I was provided everything I needed for my stay in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The owner Tony besides running an excellent guest house, provides tours and invaluable information about the local scene that allows for a deeper experience of Trinidad. His easy to get a hold of too and helped me assist in arrangements in Tobago (saving me a lot of time in searching for another place!). The guest house is right next a street where you can pick up a maxi taxi, which are available at all times of the day. Overall the location and owner provide for a stress-less adventure in Trinidad and Tobago.

I visited T&T for 2 weeks in April and May 2013 to do a solo backpack trip. I stayed a few nights in Port of Spain at another guest house when I first arrived. It was almost twice the cost of Tony's Guest House. After locating Tony's Guesthouse, they came and picked me up from my another location at a nominal fare. The location where I stayed at Tony's was immediately next to bus stops. The "taxi" fees in T&T are very cheap once you learn the system. Tony's provided a clean room, good water pressure, and cable television. The room I was in was farthest from the wireless internet, so I had a hard time connecting. That is really my only complaint. I would recommend this to anyone staying in or around PoS. The taxi ride to PoS from his locations was maybe 10-15 minutes, but well worth it when interacting with locals and learning the transportation system for the rest of your trip (i.e., how to point in right direction with correct finger to indicate where you are going along with whether to use a taxi, bus, etc.).

It is Tony's ancestral home. It is old and he keeps it very clean. However, some stains are too old to get rid of. If you are looking for luxury, it is not your place. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place in POS with airport pick up and drop off for US$35 each way no matter what time of the day and night it is, with clean room, a well equipped kitchen, and a super friendly, helpful owner who gives a free tour of the city in the evening in his van, it is your place. My husband was sick when we reached there. I needed to buy some food for me and for him. Tony drove me around all over so that I can buy fruit, ginger ale, cooked starchy vegetables for my husband and other kind of food for me. When I did not have local currency, he paid for the items and I paid him back once we returned at the guest house. He treated us like his own family members. The evening city tour was fabulous. Internet was good as well. When we reached, our room was air conditioned fully. Although the hot water was not available in our bathroom, it did not really matter. It was very comfortable for my husband to lie down and fall asleep right away. Because of Tony's care he recovered by the evening time and took the tour with me in Tony's van. Thank you Tony for everything you have done for us.

The best thing about Tony’s Guest House is Tony. He is extremely helpful. He picked me up after 11.00pm at the airport for a reasonable rate and he had to wait later than when I was projected to arrive (for the airport staff to get their act together!). He even stopped off so I could quickly get something to eat. He drove me to a supermarket a mile away the following morning and showed me some of the other shops (pharmacy, Chinese restaurant) nearby. Over the course of 9 days he answered all my questions and went out of his way to try and find me a scooter (which you can’t rent any longer, as the insurance companies are no longer willing to insure them). His reason for running this facility is not just to make money, but because he likes people – and it shows. Talking about money, there were no unexpected nasty surprises. There were not hidden fees and all financial matters were dealt with quickly with no gimmicks. I definitely would recommend Tony’s Guest House. Even before arriving in Trinidad, I had had a number of useful email communications with Tony. It is not 5 star, but the value for money you get is great. There is free wifi. Yes it can work in your room, but you’ll find it faster if you sit on the outside tables. He organised his son to pick me up at 4am to drive me to the airport and his son was very punctual (and also pleasant). The guest house is located in an area about 30 minutes from the heart of Port of Spain in he heart of suburbia. It took me 3 days to get my bearings, but to be honest it’s actually quite easy to get to and from town. Stick your thumb out (after asking Tony which way your thumb should be) and you can get a Maxi bus for 4 TT dollars (less than US$1). They come very frequently – I never waited more than 4 minutes. The street the guest house is located on (Papnis drive) only has 3 properties and the main street (Morne Coco) is very easy to get to once you know how. The area felt very safe (well at least for a white male) and I walked up all the back streets for miles and miles that basically no tourist would ever do. Half a mile away is a bar and somewhere to eat. And across the road and up 50 metres is a Chinese restaurant. I came to donate my time in three organisations and found it an ideal place to stay. My only one criticism and it’s only one (and I doubt Tony could do anything about it) is one of the neighbours has a dog that needs to learn to shut up. The owners do not seem to care at all about the barking. Having said that, I had the best sleep I have had in the last few years (I was living in New York prior to this trip) – waking up to the sounds of insects and not New York traffic and honking was great. Spent 2 nights at Tonys and was not disappointed. It's a good budget option, in a quiet neighborhood. I spent my first two nights of the trip there before moving on. There are grocery stores close but not much else to do, so I wouldn't plan on much excitement without taking a cab to get there.

Tony's guesthouse is very good value for money. It's a little bit far away from downtown but public transport (Maxi-taxis) are plenty and cheap.
I stayed in room No. 7 upstairs and it was a little bit small but good.
Tony is a great host, very helpful and nice. He will make your stay very easy and comfortable. His free waterfront tour gives you a little insight to the area.
I would come again!

"I had Room 6 (at the back of the premises), which although according to another guest was slightly smaller, had everything I needed. You got a sheet on the bed and they were changed periodically. You even got soap. There is a small fridge in the room, which unlike in American hotels where they tend to be loud, this was pleasantly quieter. There was a tv, which you don’t expect for such a price. Don’t expect a flatscreen tv – anyone wanting that sort of luxury is in the wrong place, but it was good to have to find out about what was going on in Trinidad. There were cutlery and some cooking utensils and an air conditioner that worked really, really well. The shower is nothing flash, but had good water volume. Thankfully there was a mini wardrobe to hang about 10 clothes in and it even had a few clothes hangers. The electricity sockets all work and you can use American appliances without any form of conversion. If Tony was going to invest some serious money, I’d suggest he invest in a washing machine and charge clients for it’s use. But apart from that I had everything I needed in a quiet location with a great owner. If I ever come back for business on the cheap, I would stay here again. The three travelers I met from Spain preparing their boat to travel back to Spain also liked Tony’s Guest House and Tony. (Review written by Adrian)"
