We stayed here whilst visiting family in the village and we were greeted warmly on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Our room was very comfortable with beautiful linen and towels and, whilst there was no room cleaning as such, we were asked each day if we would like clean towels or cleaning done, which wasn't neccessary. Nothing was too much trouble and our host Dee was very accommodating at all times, whilst at the same time we were made to feel very much that we could come and go as we pleased. Breakfast was ordered the night before so you could plan your dietary needs for the day ahead, and it was superb. The B&B itself was a peaceful little oasis, despite being on the main road, and it was a perfect base for coming back and forth to visits to family nearby. It is also located next to the village shops and bus stops for trips in and out of Whitby. We will have no hesitation in booking here again on our next family visit, and there was nothing that could have been better for us. We didn't meet Phil as we stayed mid week, but Dee was a delightful host and looked after us well. Thank you for your hospitality Dee 😊

We stayed in the Twin Room with en suite at Rowan Tree House B&B for two nights this weekend. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower pressure was excellent. We found the location was extremely convenient for exploring Staithes, Whitby, and Robin Hood's Bay which were all on our agenda for the long weekend. Our hosts were very accommodating regarding picking up the key on our first day and they went above and beyond to make sure were happy at breakfast time. Otherwise, we felt like we had complete privacy and independence to come and go with ease - helped by the convenient off-road parking in front of the B&B. We would happily stay here again and would recommend this B&B to others. Thank you, Dee & Philip!

Excellent accommodation and welcoming host. Super breakfast - given plenty of choice and asking for gluten free bread was no problem. Comfortable room and very modern shower en-suite. Great location too - I was visiting family but easy access to Whitby and surrounding area.

First off the hosts were lovely , very attentive . Check in wasn’t till 5 so was quick drop bags off and try and find somewhere to eat. The room itself sorry to say was very dated and small, although clean which is the main. The mattress wasn’t to our liking as it was rock hard so very poor sleep , but that was our personal preference. The breakfast was ok , wasn’t keen on the sausages and seemed a little underdone , the pots of tea were lovely and hot though. Parking is a bit dicy as it’s a very busy road. Overall is was fine but sorry to say, we wouldn’t be in a rush to book again.

Actually the title is slightly misleading as one of the neighbours thinks it's fine to start banging at 0745 of a weekend morning. That's the only fault I can find. As many others have noted the breakfast is excellent.

This is avery quick review: How were the hosts? Dee was great and even gave us the code to access the property when we arrived earlier than expected. How clean was Rowan Tree House B&B: It was clean, however it needs to be mentioned that the owners have a dog. The dog doesn't go into th bedrooms, but as I am alergic to pets, I did have a snuffly nose by the end of the stay. How were the facilities: This seemed to let the B&B down, as we took an 18month old with us, we expected the bins in the room to be changed every day, this wasn't the case. I didn't realise that their was a shared bathroom which we could use, would have made bathing a tiny one easier. How did you sleep: This was a real let down, the bed was hard and uncomfortable and the bed length ways is probably suited to someone who is 4ft or under. I'm 5ft.6'' and my feet were hanging off the bed and this was after taking off all the pillows. How was breakfast: Again a real let down, the first morning we were there. The toast came out with mould on the sides. The sasuages and bacon were not of good quality. The second morning, the sausages were undercooked. Overall, we personally wouldn't stay here again. It was expensive £140 for 2 nights for no sleep and no breakfast. If you are a hiker or just need somewhere for one night, then I recommend.

I recently returned from an overseas trip. While on the way to Whitby N.Yorkshire, with my sister It was so nice to stop @ Rowan Tree House B & B and enjoy a nice quiet room with a lovely view. A lovely cooked breakfast was a real treat. We were given some good local info on Robin Hood Bay which we also visited. It was lovely to meet ‘Lily’
