An attractive and modern mountain hotel in a magnificent setting. The hotel is situated 1000 meters above sea level terrain at the beginning of Rondane National Park, 120 km north of Lillehammer and 8 km from the E6. Looking for a place to relax for the Autumn, I came across the hotel, via Trip Advisor, and I must state that the description of the hotel needs to be upgraded - It was fantastic - in all ways. The service was excellent provided by Tore & his team, even clearing the snow, by hand, to our cottage in the morning before breakfast. When one defines breakfast, on our first morning, we were only two quests staying, BUT, we had the perfect selection - just for us ! Evening meal was also an experience, very traditional Norwegian food, and plenty of it. Arriving for an Autumn break, within 2 hours we realised we were having a WINTER break !?! But, this was well solved by the management. For me the Cottage - Nystugu, has great views, and a perfect solution. Thanks again for a fantastic stay, We will be back.

We stayed for 4 nights in the Rondane apartment. It has a great view, is sparkling clean and has everything you need. The breakfast offers a lot of variation and it’s also possible to make a lunch packet. It was a pity that the first 2 days nobody at the reception knew English. The sauna in the apartment wasn’t working at the time of our visit. But overall, I can definitely recommend this hotel!

We were booked here by our tour operators for 3 nights. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Tore, who could not have been nicer. He had all kinds of great suggestions for hiking. There are a ton of choices which you can get to from the hotel. Our room was very nice, clean and bright. Plentiful hot water and super Wifi. The meals were good too. We had 2 buffet dinners which were lovely and one sit down meal. The breakfast buffet was great and we made our lunch sandwiches from it as well. Coffee is available throughout the day and it was great. The staff were all wonderful but had limited English which was not a problem since Tore is fluent. There were lots of people, mostly from Norway staying at this place. All in all, just a wonderful place in a lovely part of Norway. Highly recommend .

A great two-bedroom cabin with all that is needed and a beautiful view straight from the living room and the bedroom! The host and all the staff were very kind and helpful. Would have stayed longer if we had not made plans in advance.

Campsites in the heart of national parks are rare, for obvious reasons. But this mountain hotel doubles as a campsite, which is how we used it, although the amenities of the hotel are available to campers too.The man at the reception is extremely nice and helpful. From here you can start any amount of hikes and treks in the beautiful Rondane. The view and the openness are heart-warming. Forget your stress here. After three days there we were sorry to have to leave.

We stayed two nights in one of the apartments, which was nice but had a dark decor and was a bit smelly. The location is great however and the owner will give you great advice on walks in the area. A good place to go for hikers.

We stayed 2 nights to conclude our Norway trip. It is a 20-minute drive from Otta. The hotel situates at a relative higher point in the vicinity. We were assigned to Room 4 and the view was excellent towards Rondane especially at sunset. There is a small platform outside for sitting and enjoy the scene in open air. There are a lot of lawns around the houses. The last night of our stay was a Friday and there were some caravans parked at the lawns. The room was very comfortable, though the TV and radio did not receive well. The Wifi worked OK but busy at times (after dinner). We met a group of senior citizens having their reunion of some sort. There are sitting areas to enjoy coffee / tea after the meal. Food for first night was buffet and was excellent, with lots of choices. Bread in breakfast is freshly baked. In the first evening the sky was relatively clear with some clouds and the reflection of the sunset by the clouds was gorgeous.

Rooms have recently been refurbished and are very comfortable. Food very good although no choice on two nights - the third night was an excellent buffet. Owner / manager very welcoming and helpful even lending us his car to drive to local shop.

Easily accessible by car, and with terrain suitable for all levels of physical fitness - from the toughest hiker to the relaxed rambler - this friendly mountain hotel is one of the best I have visited. The management went that extra mile to make my stay enjoyable - from small, but important things, like automatically serving me, a solo traveller, a whole jug of iced water, to offering me the use of my room after the normal check-out time. The view of the sunset over the mountains from my room was amazing, the food fresh and good and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to my next stay.

The only regret my husband and I had about this hotel was that we couldn't stay longer! Our stay was absolutely lovely. This hotel's location is unbeatable in terms of beauty and access to hiking trails in the nearby national park. Though we did not stay in one of the recently renovated rooms, any sacrifice in amenities was more than made up for by the beautiful views, relaxed and secluded atmosphere, and friendly and helpful staff. Because of the hotel's remote location (it's an exciting drive up the mountain), the idea of going back down again to look for somewhere to eat dinner was unappealing. Luckily, we were provided with a very nice custom, vegetarian dinner from the hotel's restaurant, which we enjoyed immensely. The staff's willingness to put up with two American vegetarians, which I imagine would be inconvenient at the best of times, with smiles and kindness, made our stay both memorable and peaceful. We would return here in a minute, if we are ever back in the vicinity. Wonderful.
