Visibly run down interiors, which never were good, and designed with taste. Details made me smile. Any rating of four or even five points is sheer fantasy. Thanks God only one night. No own parking. Restaurant in ground floor better, see separate rating.

Stayed for two nights on a business trip and found the hotel to be perfectly suitable. It's got character, very friendly staff, nice food and the room was a good size. There are some other restaurants and shops near the hotel and it's about a 5 minute walk to the train station.

I have used this hotel and restaurant (and the adjacent Wine bar) from 2012. Initially I was there 5/6 times per year for a week each trip as I was working for a company in Munich. Our office manager highly recommended it (and she had worked in 5 star hotels for years!). The rooms are clean and practical with everything you can need. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic and I soon learned a very intelligent way to order wine. When the wonderful Daniela would ask me if I wanted wine, I would answer "Yes, whatever Chef recommends". Everything I ate and drank there since has been outstanding. Even a simple pizza or minestrone soup is done with care and attention and they have high tolerance for asking for small changes (e.g. extra, extra mushrooms on a pizza please). In recent years, I have gone with 5-7 friends for Oktoberfest and the welcome is just as good. The hotel is professionally managed by diligent yet kind people and the restaurant is headed by a master Italian chef. It doesn't get better. Of course, Planegg is a beautiful little town, very traditional Bavarian and incredibly clean. The location is great and as the hotel is 250m to the S bahn and 50 m to the bus, you are well connected.

The hotel and restaurant are conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the station which has a good service to Munich City centre. My room was OK, but a very limited number of channels the TV. My room was at the front at the hotel so there was some traffic noise. The WiFi was very poor - I spoke to colleagues at a local company the following day and apparently this is a frequent comment about this hotel. Evening meal in the restaurant was very good but I thought the buffet breakfast very limited. All staff were very friendly and helpful. There are no common areas such as lobby or bar so I think OK for a couple of nights but not for longer and not recommended for business trips due to the poor WiFi.

My room was quite small with an ancient TV set. The room was, however, well maintained and clean. The bathroom was also quite adequate. The breakfast was good with large selection also for vegetarians. The breakfast is provided in the restaurant on the ground level. The restaurant was quite packed on evenings, but it was still relatively quiet in the room.

...and good location. Just a couple of minutes to the SBahn, which takes you right downtown Munich in less than 30 minutes! Rooms are quite spacious. Beds are comfortable and all clean. The TV has 3 Programs 1. ARD, 2. ZDF and 3. RAI - so better take a book Breakfast is great!!

One night stay, medium expectation before checking in and was greeted with a little gem if a hotel. Very clean room and an added bonus of a genuine Italian resturant as part of the hotel. Nice staff with with a very Italian feel

We stayed here as a family and the hotel overall was decent. The wifi was terrible and did not reach throughout the hotel which was a shame. When we arrived at 4pm (check-in from 3pm) our room wasn't ready. We were told this was because they had been busy the night before, a thursday night. Bizarre. The real reason is that they operate on fine margins like most family owned hotels. The decor was nice and the breakfast was excellent. The staff all said hello which was appreciated.

I stayed here on a solo business trip, and as far as I could tell, everyone else in the hotel had the same purpose. There's a nice family-owned feel throughout - had more of a B&B feel than a typical hotel. The highlight of my stay was definitely the hotel restaurant. Breakfast every day with lots of delicious and varied options - eggs, bacon, pastries, yogurts and cheeses, fresh juices and great coffee. It was much more than I was expecting from a hotel spread! Also had dinner there several times and it was equally lovely. All of the waitstaff was wonderful. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was quite comfortable; the pillows were a bit lumpy and could stand to be replaced. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower had great water pressure. I wasn't a huge fan of the all-in-one soap but no big deal as I had brought my own toiletries. Aside from meals, I didn't see or hear another soul - it was so incredibly quiet. The train station is an easy 5 minute walk away and the surrounding town has some great little shops, a nice grocery store, and a couple very good biergartens. Very nice place to stay!

Stayed here on a business trip. I've never experienced a quieter night. I usually sleep with white noise and ear plugs to drown out background sounds found in typical hotels. This place was different; near silence and peaceful tranquility, i sat for a bit just enjoying it - reminded me of camping in the remote backwoods of Maine. The room was simple with a small bed which was comfortable and warm. Though my stay was short, I didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner because I got in a little late, but the buffet style breakfast was delicious with ample choices. The hotel reminded me of staying at grand mom's; from the style of wall hangings, the furniture, the general feel of coziness and gentle caring of the everyone working there. Unfortunately I didn't have time to enjoy the quaint town or their own wine bar next door. Hoping to get back to check it out. Would definitely stay again.
