We had the pleasure of staying with Johanne and Andre at their lovely bed and breakfast for 2 nights while exploring the area. We had a queen room with its own private bathroom on the ground floor. There is a guests lounge area overlooking the St Lawrence river. The home has been in Johanne’s family for 3 generations. Breakfast of freshly baked croissants, bread cake and muffins and homemade jams were served each morning in the dining room. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed two nights. Our room was extremely clean with two comfortable beds and a private bath. The house is old and nicely kept. The hosts are very helpful in every way. Breakfast is a variety of excellent homemade treats with great coffee. It is just a short drive to Tadousac. It is on a busy road to the ferry and we were uncertain at first about noise from trucks. it was not an issue during the night.

We booked here for a night on the way to Sept iles. Weather and driving wasn't fantastic so we showed up late. Upon arrival lights were off and no one was there. Attempted to call and no one answered. Now I understand if you show up late you are supposed to call as per the small print if the booking. However no time is specified of what that is. When I asked for a refund they dined and hung up. Won't recommend to anyone. I understand it's a business. But people that can't act human will get no friends.

We have enjoyed our stay here with a warm welcome from Johanne and André. We had to arrive late in the night but the rooms where ready and the hosts let the lights on so we could find our way without waking up everyone. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean, the beds excellent. The bathroom is also in the same vein. Not mentioning the traditional home made breakfast, very generous and excellent. Yes, the house is at the border of the road and not very insulated but the traffic is minimal during the night. This was not an issue for us. The view and the terrace to the river is gorgeous. We enjoyed the sunrise over the Saint Laurent, the morning we had to wake up early to go to see the whales. Price is not supper cheap, especially if you have to take two rooms for a family, but comparing to other places in the area, this is very acceptable. And you have to take in consideration the included gorgeous breakfast. Parking is free, it is even marked with the name of your room. Johanne is also source of good advises to visit the area and find restaurants. Will return definitely.…

In september 2015 my husband and I stayed for one night in "room Robert" in this B&B. Johanne and André proved to be very congenial and helpfull hosts. We wanted to go whalewatching with Otis at 4.30 pm. on the same day we arrived, but Johanne phoned Otis for us and found out that they didn't have an afternoon trip so late in september. She then phoned to AML,and reserved the tickets for us. Johanne also suggested that we could go to Point Noir (a panoramic viewpoint) before the boattrip and explained where we could find the boat company, the ferry and the restaurants. Our room had a comfortable double bed, a desk, a small rustic bathroom with a shower and free wifi. We had a view of the river. Each room has it's own free parkingspot in front of the B&B and on the lawn facing the river there is a wooden sundeck with chairs to watch the sunrise or sunset if weather permits. Even though the B&B is on the main road, we didn't hear any traffic noice. In the morning the extensive breakfast was laid out on two long tables. Johanne had prepared fresh scones and croissants. Johanne and André speak mainly French, but can manage a bit of English too. As there were guests of many nationalities at our table, we acted as translators from time to time. The free ferry is +/- 10 minutes drive from the B&B and takes you across to Tadoussac in 20 minutes. We had a short but lovely stay here and would come back should we return to this area.…

Johanne et André are very friendly hosts. They don't speak much English but don't let that stop you from staying here! The location is great - just minutes from the ferry and next to the river. While it's right on the main road, we didn't hear any traffic noise from our room. The entire place was very clean and breakfast was great. There is no hot breakfast but Johanne's home baking more than makes up for it! My daughter loved the homemade muffins and there is also homemade bread and sweet breads each morning. During our stay, it was banana bread one day and apple bread with caramel sauce the next day. Delicious!

We've enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful house and room, with a romantic view of the lake. Rather small bathroom, but private and well maintained. It was rather warm during the night and difficult to cool down the room. We loved the kind hostess and host, as well as the largely selfmade breakfast. Ofcourse you'll need to like sweet flavours in the morning. Perhaps some kind of cheese would be a nice addition to the breakfast. But still the best breakfast we had during our 3 week travel. The free ferry takes about 20 min to take you to the other side, tadoussac.

We spent a night at this cute B&B in July. The hospitality was great, we really appreciated the advice for things to do in Tadoussac! Breakfast was a very generous spread of breads, pastries, muffins and fruits, which was very tasty. There was a lovely view of the bay from the terrasse (if it had been sunny we definitely would have sat out there looking for whales!) The bed was a little on the hard side, but we slept well anyway (could not hear any noise from the road at all) and had our own bathroom. Good value option and only 4km from the Tadoussac ferry (which runs 24/7). Also, free Wifi! Would recommend for a weekend stay.

Great place with nice owner. Just few steps from ferry to Tadoussac. Love the breakfast! I didn't know what the "gite" is and it was my very first experince with this type of B&B, but it was definitely a good one :-)

We've loved our stay at the Gite la Maison Rochefort. Johanne and Andre work hard to please their guests. This B&B is cosy, tranquil and warm; the vista over St. Laurent river is special. We have found this place excellent in particular for the visitors planning a whale cruise from the Baie Sainte Catherine marina. I highly recommend this place. Breakfast is another important attraction, as Johanne is a very good cook.
