- Gloria CBaytown, TX14 contributionsVisited yesterday for their Summer Market and had a great time. The sangria was absolutely perfect for a hot summer day. Brought home a bottle of their Orange Moscato which was lovely and refreshing. We just moved to the Beach City area and it going to get spoiled with a vineyard right up the road from home!Written July 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - melendzHouston, TX460 contributionsThis nature preserve was created from an old neighborhood which was abandoned and razed after multiple hurricanes. This is a hidden gem with 7+ miles of hiking trails. The majority of the hiking is paved (the old neighborhood streets) with some gravel paths as well. Note that most hiking is without tree coverage, so wear sunscreen. The center includes fishing piers and a playground area. There are nice views of the Houston Ship Channel, San Jacinto Monument, and the Baytown Bridge. The is a $4 entrance fee for adults (13+yr) $1 for children (5-12) and senors (65+).Written January 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I attended opening night 11/30 and there was A LOT of Christmas Spirit, not just a little.
In addition, there was plenty of nostalgia and heartfelt feelings to go around—-even if you were not a Boomer. From the opening, the lead character J.D. got right into his journey of finding what he was missing in life and sent the audience on a make believe trip into SantaLand. I love happy endings.
Well done. I am going to see it again!!!Written December 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I’ve been coming here to this beautiful park for years, people of every race here co-mingling all the time. There are basketball courts, tennis, disc golf, trails, dog parks, work out station, playground and more. Never have I seen anyone have a problem there. I bring my dog there regularly and everyone is friendly. If traveler had a problem (that wasn’t from them causing it) it was probably just a random bad person but no reason to trash the whole park in a review.Written August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LCMAN61Houston, TX564 contributionsVisited the Baytown Historical Museum. I concentrated my efforts on Poet John Peter Sjolander, shipbuilding by Kilgore Ship Yards and Confederate Naval Works at Goose Creek. I explored the works of Ashbel Smith M.D. who is considered the Father of Texas Medicine and Father of the University of Texas. I reviewed an exhibit on the local newspaper known as The Baytown Sun.
