What travelers are saying
- Laura PJacksonville, IL3 contributionsWhat I really liked best, besides Chuck the tour guide, was that you actually got to go in the rooms. Most places only let you look in. Chuck also told us what happened to the members of Lotzâs family in the aftermath of the war.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David SAsheville, NC6 contributionsSheila was an amazing storyteller! She really brought alive the events. You can see so many bullet holes in the wood buildings and in the brick facings. Families were hiding in the basement while thousands were being killed outside. What a disastrous moment of our history!Written December 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tracy KLloydminster, Canada31 contributionsSpectacular property filled with history and sadness. Visiting Rippavilla would be a nice lead into this property, we did it the other way, but the pieces fell together. The house is beautiful, and I cannot imagine what transpired when it became a make shift hospital. The graves are evidence of what happened on that site, and it stops and makes you think. Definitely a site to visit if you enjoy history or just seeing a beautiful Tennessee property.Written January 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
