We are big James Herriot fans and loved our visit. Very interesting and atmospheric. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend - Thirsk is lovely too!

We visited for the 1st time today and it was fantastic despite the weather. It was informative at the talks and the staff were really good and friendly. We turned up to the barrel ride after paying to be told the member of staff was going on her break but we couldn’t come back as we needed to leave soon so she said come on it’s okay and delayed her break. That was fantastic customer service so thank you! You made my boys day as he absolutely loved it. Well we all did! (My only gripe was we paid £2.50 each and it said £2 on the board next to it) so this needs updating. We grabbed some food in the café whilst there which was lovely too.

We had a lovely morning so thank you to you all. We will definitely be back again!

Lovely, but challenging walk. Unfortunately there is not a good view of the horse. The views from the hill more than make up for it.

Had a great day out here. We hired bikes from next to the visitor centre at Sutton Bikes. We hired them in advance as they recommended. Great quality bikes and very friendly service. We hired them for three hours and managed to do a circular route(mainly flat and about 9 miles) to High Paradise farm and back. There is a cafe here but it was shut on the day we went (Friday). Great scenery and easy route to follow using the map provided.

I like looking around old churches and this one was full of interest.
Many thanks to the two lady volunteers who spent time with us telling stories and explaining the history of the church. Lovely to seek out the mice and the beavers!
    Well worth a visit.

Hidden gem within the town. Ring the bell and they let you in! Interesting exhibits that get change so worth a re-visit. No coffee shop yet but the town has plenty. Allow 1hr+

Fantastic racecourse but for the price you pay for a pint nearly £7 it should be a decent pint and not warm ,had to return my first pint as it had s foul taste to it went to the other bar and pint was warm , shame really but won’t put us off visiting again never had a problem in the past not sure if it was because it was the last meeting maybe ?

I often drive past the church on The A19 & admire it so today I stopped to pay a visit. It was a beautiful sunny day & I was very surprised to find that it is actually open so you can take a look inside. It’s immediately maintained & I’m sure it was built in 1100AD so to be standing today is testament to the craftsmanship of the builders.
You enter though a little door within a door which I thought was great. There are lovely stained glass windows & plenty of information about the churches history. I was alone in the church and although not a religious person I took a pew & spent some time to contemplate which was very nice. The grounds are also well maintained & some Commonwealth graves for those that have an interest.
This is certainly well worth pulling over for & spending some time looking around.

Wanted to amuse 2 toddlers on a wet winter morning.came to twiggies.very busy managed to get the last table.lots of groups with friends chatting .both our toddlers loved the big blue slide.one had to be rescued when he got "lost"in the top corner. Then was fine.the time flew past quickly and both toddlers were tired and hungry at the end of their play.Decided not to eat there as all sandwich based light snacks. Not good for anyone wheat intolerant. The food that we saw coming out looked fine but not suitable for me.
Will definatly return as the toddlers loved it.Good value for money and well layed out soft play area with good visibility when watching little ones at play
