We were pleasantly surprised to come across a bison herd. We enjoyed walking the trails in the park, as well as the mill ruins. The waterfalls are in a separate area across a highway, and you will need to move your car to see them. The waterfall was pretty much dried up, but this isn't something anyone can control.

We drove down from the Twin Cities for the day. It took us about 2 hours each way but even my 5-year-old said it was worth it. She really enjoyed the butterfly house and had a great (long) chat with staff about pollinators. We didn’t feel rushed like we do at some of the larger museums. There were plenty of activities for her to explore but only got through 3 stations - she was so invested that she spent about 2 hours at each one. We will definitely be making the trip again.

For those looking to spend fun filled days and quiet, star gazing nights, Seven Mile Camp is the place. Beautiful scenery surrounds the grounds. Great location to Arches, the town of Moab, Dead Horse Park and Canyonland. Melissa, the manager, was so friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and gave us a few awesome suggestions of places to see. Seven Mile Campground is my idea of outdoor camping ❤️

After not being in Mankato for 30 years, it was great to visit again. Maud Hart Lovelace's childhood home and that of her friend, Bick Kenney (Tacy) were great to see. The docents at Tacy's house were friendly and knowledgeable. And the gift shop is a delight for Betsy-Tacy fans!

We loved this extensive urban park. It was beautifully planned, clean, and well-maintained. The special petting zoo and play equipment were terrific for children, and adults could enjoy the landscaping, picnic tables, and trails.

Walked a small easy part of this trail in Oct 2022. I could see that it would be a fun trail to bike on. The parking and facilities were nice. The water was really low, so the river wasn't much to look at that day. If we had more time, would have tried a longer part, but nice we could just pick a part that worked for our time limit. Only downside is that signage wasn't that easy to follow.

We really enjoyed our tour of this beautiful Victorian house. It has been carefully restored and maintained. The tour was interesting and informative. My husband and I just love looking at old houses. History buffs will also find a lot to enjoy here. Old car enthusiasts will enjoy the carriage house portion of the tour. Do check out the gardens before or after the tour as they are also beautifully maintained. When we went, we had the tour-guide to ourselves, which was extra nice. Check the website for dates & hours as they are closed in the wintertime and most weekdays. Also note, photography in the house is not allowed.

For a town of this size the Mall here is really good sized. It has a decent food court and nice selection of shops.

Very fun game and super helpful staff. We participated in the Magician room. Difficulty was around mild to medium. Having staff only one phone call away made the game easier to navigate.

If you are looking for an interesting way to spend a couple of hours in a serene and talent filled location, visit this venue. It is truly amazing how talented the artists on exhibit are. It is fun to view and to meet others that enjoy this scene as well.

Well run, nicely programmed regional orchestra, nurtured by several nearby college/university music departments and by top-flight players from Minneapolis. Managed with pride and intent. Well worth a hearing.

This museum provides a look at the origins of Mankato--the blue earth, First Peoples, as well as settler information in the area. It would have been beneficial seeing displays on the arrival of Mayo clinic and the city's evolution as an art center.

Really beautiful, flat, and long trail in southern Minnesota that runs from Mankato to Faribault. I went on a Friday morning, with my road bike, and the trail had plenty of room for all abilities of cyclists, walkers, and runners. Many of the communities along the path have rest stops as well as restaurants, shops, etc. You could easily make a day or multi-day trip out of this. Trail is well maintained.

A very nice and friendly winery, with great outdoor space, and good wines made with grapes we never tasted on the east coast. The highlight for our kids was the family's friendly dog who came out to greet us in the parking lot and walk us to the winery. The highlight for us was the refreshing wines and wonderful staff. We stopped in the early afternnon
