What people are saying
Good service, and helpful lessons
5.0 of 5 bubblesJul 2021
My first experience with RedTail was when I signed up for lessons. The first session was about 50% discussion about what I hope to gain from the lessons and about 50% looking at my swing. The rest of the sessions were a mix of drills, hitting at the range, the putting greens, and playing a few holes on the course. I am very happy with the lessons I received from Matt Bryda and have added about 20 yards to each club and straightened out my driver. The lessons included seeing videos of my swing vs other players and lots of Trackman data. The trackman numbers were really helpful because it was instant feedback to fix some of the flightpath issues I was having.
The pro shop isn’t very big, but they pack a lot in the space. It is always busy, but staff finds time to help if needed. Every time I have been in, there has been some sort of sale going on from 30% to 50% off various clubs or balls. I bought a box of 16 TaylorMade TP5 balls that were on sale for 30% off. I went in looking for a putter and got exceptional service from Travis. I thought I knew what I wanted, but after the help from Travis, I got something completely different. He quickly helped me compare a couple of lengths and watched me swing and within about 20 minutes I was happily making my purchase. Travis did a good job explaining what goes into picking a putter and noticed when I was changing my swing to fit the putter rather than the putter fitting my swing. After purchasing my putter I was able to apply some of the things he spoke about to my practice session and began making more putts. Highly recommend finding Travis if you need any help. I have only played a few holes on the course during my lessons, but I enjoyed it and plan to play 18. There seems to be some good variety to the course and I had to use some strategy while playing. I plan to schedule a fitting for a driver this fall/ winter and will update this review if that happens.

I didn't have a love relationship with my current driver. Went to Redtail and worked with the manager Rob. LOVED HIM! The experience was great and he was awesome. Fitted me with a new driver that I love and he was very helpful and very kind. Explained everything to me and discussed the different clubs I tried. Decided to go back and trade in my old clubs for new irons. Highly recommend him!

Red Tail Golf Center is a golfer’s dream. Scheduled two hours with Jason to be fitted with new clubs. Jason took extra time to make sure I was getting the correct model for me, not just the newest model. In the end, he determined I needed driver, one fairway wood, and one hybrid, in addition to irons and wedges. We ordered not what I expected, but what I needed. Big shout out to Jason!

I was super excited to be able to finally go get some irons fitted for me. I haven't had new clubs in almost 30 years. I had waited till the last day of their summer sale due to recovering from recent knee surgery but didn't want to miss the sale. I had an appointment with Mitch. Ok guy, didn't talk or explain much. He didn't explain their procedure beforehand. Just told me to warm up, and I needed it since it still hurt to swing on my bad knee.
Started off with some lower end clubs. He never asked me MY preferences to a certain brand or style. Just kept shoving low end clubs at me to try. I only tried 3 types of irons after I told him my budget. I would have gone up on my budget price had I been allowed to try some other clubs and found one that I was "in love with."
I felt that I had to "settle" for the best feeling iron set that I stated was in my price range. I like the clubs that I bought but felt like I wasn't given the opportunity to try out other iron sets. Mitch, and the other fitting pros had the place busy with appointments since it was the last day. I guess that I should feel so lucky to just get an appointment but I felt rushed. I didn't get arm length hand height measurements or any other measurements. Mitch just grabbed a 7 iron out of my bag and went by that. Nothing high tech.
Also, RED TAIL if you read this please place on your web page that trade ins must be current on the PGA value trade in list in order to be allowed. I drove 155 miles round trip for just a 30% discount off a set of new, but 2017 Callaways. I had contacts with dealers that could have given me that kinda deal. Sigh.........

I recently took some lessons here and it was a great experience. They have a large number of instructors. Launch monitors are used to fine tune, re-work, or develop swings. Chris Turner was a fantastic instructor. The club house has a club fitting area that is top quality with all the name brands.
I like the grass practice greens, chipping area and sand/short game area. The two story driving range is busy but rarely does one have to wait. The course is tough. White tees 70.6 for men 76.6 for ladies. Slope 126 for men.
The website gives all the details.
All summer there is a big tent sale with great deals on previous years clothes and gear.
This place has the best selection of gear in the metro area.
Ask about specials as there is usually something on special from less to gear to multi-token range ball cards.

I went there to the range the week before n forgot my 3 hybrid cover. I went the next week to play with my friends. I ask if they had a lost n found, the girl said yes we do. I was like (can I see it if it's there.) She said no you can not look at it but what do you need. I said I lost a hybrid cover last week just wondering if it was there. She looked real quick n said it was not there. I hate it when people judge you they act like your there to steal something. Plus I ask for a medium bucket ball for the range n she gave me a large. N I said I have a 5:40 she said 10 dallor . I said again I have a 540 she said you mean tee time awwwwe yes I do . Then she didn't know how to ring me up . Then she gave me wrong change then she gave me cart keys with no tee time slip only receipt for range balls . I was like omg. I didn't notice until later when I was going to tee off. I went to the counter to get tee slip n manager treated like I was stupid n lost the slip . He intercom the starter that I lost the starter slip . SNOTTY PEOPLE. I'm sure I make just as much or more than the manager of the golfing place for them to judge me like that. If I my friends didn't play there I would never go back. I love to golf. I know lots of people in golf are snotty but damm your just a worker there it doesn't mean you make alot of money to judge others. Terrible experience

Easy to work with, knowledgeable, professional instructors who can really improve your game. Course isn't too bad, not perfect; however, terrible customer service from the starter and another man today in the shop. Accused me of a "cardinal mistake": Starter went off on me about teeing off when it was WIDE OPEN, when the starter was scrambling to fit him in, and told him to go get his ball - ended up going with starter, which was a plus, but starter would not retrieve the ball alone, minus. Initially he said it would be fastest for me to join a threesome. Three ladies walked up to the tee taking FOREVER to get to the tee box, and it was wide open, so figuring that it would be okay because I paid for my golf I teed off. Big waste of time for me when I tried to follow the starter's directions and he insisted on arguing with me. Man in the shop who gave me my refund did not care to inquire about what went wrong, but the plus is he gave me my money back without yelling at me and arguing.

Played there on Fathers day, our tee time was 9&9:08 checked in with the starter and were informed they 15-20 behind, finally got going only to follow 4 drunken players who spent more time with the cart girl than playing, the Marshall didn't seem to want to confront the group who driving on the greens , laying on the greens . To make it worse it was 92 degrees, the course is fine the staff are friendly, however watching this kind of behavior, and seeing the lack of willingness to fix something that should have been stopped immediately , very disappointing

We have our 7 year old daughter in the group classes for kids beginning golf. Greg is her Golf Pro and he is so awesome. She has learned so much about driving, chipping, and putting. Greg is so patient with the kids and makes sure he spreads his time evenly so they all are learning. We are so happy with the progress we are seeing in our daughter's golfing.
