Wow - these Falls are so gorgeous!

The trail is a little difficult in some places because there are so many roots, it can be hard to find a flat spot for your feet. Lots of overlooks to admire the falls from all the way down. These waterfalls do not disappoint and are so close to Highlands. Very fun --highly recommend!

What a gorgeous place to view. Walk down to the viewing area was not bad - getting back up to the parking area a little more difficult for us old people but doable if you take it slow. Worth the visit and walk to visit nature’s grandeur!!

Multiple falls to see on the trail. The day we went it was rainy so we only made it to the first. It was drizzly when we began and part of the trail is tree covered, so it was also nice for a warm day. Then the tree covered ended and the rain began in ernest, sadly we had to turn around.the falls we saw were beautiful though.

Having hiked Whiteside Mountain trail the day before, we decided to hike down to Glen Falls on our final morning in the area. Although we preferred hiking up and then down, we survived the reverse of that here. Based on TA reviews, we stopped after reaching the 3 viewing areas and did not go all the way down to the river bed. The falls were beautiful!

We were there on Memorial Day weekend and it was pretty heavily traveled. If you go all the way down to the bottom it is a pretty steep walk back up...especially on a hotter day. But the falls is beautiful and the trail is almost completely shaded through the woods. Good exercise and beautiful views.

Both trails offer a completely different feel. If you follow the main entrance to the post slightly ahead with "Glen Falls," the railroad tie steps bring you to several observation decks. Phenomenal views! Some parts of the trail were wet from the falls, but very do-able on a moderate level.

The other path to the right at the entrance has steps downward to see the bottom of the falls (babbling brook feel). It is less traveled and slightly more than moderate. When you see the painted blue spot on the tree, turn around. We kept going, which was enjoyable and challenging, but the path takes you further away from the water.

Remember what goes down (some 700 feet) must come back up. The trail also has a lot of roots, so be sure to wear shoes with real trail-ready soles. That said, the one-mile trail is fun and won't take more than an hour and a half.

Followed the road back to this until we arrived at the dirt parking lot. We went during the week, but the lot was still almost full. The trail was well marked and we went down to the 3rd waterfall. Slightly more than a mile down, then all uphill heading back. As others mentioned there are lots of tree roots to avoid. Nice walk, shaded all the way.

Another excellent waterfall hike in southwestern North Carolina. This is a short drive out of town and well worth it. A fairly easy hike, not extremely muddy as other spots can be, and 3 gorgeous falls.

Nice hike to the falls. Downhill walk to - uphill back to vehicle. Multiple places to stop and view falls. Go as far down as your body will allow. 3rd stop is the best.
